I want to give praise to the sales associate Josh who helped me and my husband out. He went above and beyond any other associate I've ever dealt with at any other carrier. We came in to add mobile to our internet service. Before we even got started on mobile, he noticed our modem was not the best as we were paying for a higher speed but the modem was old. So he got us a new modem. Then we worked on the phones. We upgraded to an iphone 14 plus and things should have transferred well from my other carrier. Nope. Something was getting held up. Josh tried everything to no avail. So he gave us instructions on what to do and hopefully it would take our old carrier 24 hours to get up and going. Nope... we started on Friday and Saturday night...nothing...still no transfer. Sunday I went in to Josh and through trial and error found that my old carrier had LOCKED our phone numbers and nothing would have ever happened had that not been found. Next I got on the phone with my old carrier and they unlocked the phones only to find something else was locked. And that it would take them 72 hours for a ticket to go through. I asked Josh if we could try anyway and sure enough, the phone transfer started to work and he flew through the process. I walked in on Sunday at noon and at 2pm I was still there due to issues with my old carrier...all the time Josh was trying different modes of getting through and stayed with me the whole time. In the end, we have wonderful new phones and an awesome internet connection thanks to Josh!! read more

My call to resolve a billing question was done over the phone (Leroy from Caribbean) and he was very helpful. I was given instructions to return my old box for a new box to the Santa Rosa Xfinity store. I went to the store the same day. I understand waiting for my turn and I am typically a patient person, but after observing how the employees have no sense of urgency, it left me wondering if this is why there is such a long wait. A staff named Mauricio assisted me, it was supposed to be a quick drop off and pick-up, after many frustrating questions/answers and waiting for him to come out of the back room that took 10 minutes, I had to ask another staff member to find out where he went! Mauricio's comments to me was rude and another male rep had to assist him on the computer. I requested to purchase another new box to add to a room in my home and he informed me that a technician would arrive the following day if the system did not work. A lot of notes seemed to be typed. Two new boxes were given to me and I was so glad to get out of there. The following day the Xfinity Technician arrived and asked if the Rep. that helped me in Santa Rosa gave me a receipt for he gave me, of course NOT. After working the additional box, he informed me that I was given the wrong box, and to go back to SR store and ask for the X16. Once again, I return to the SR store. Carlos was the Rep. that assisted me and asked where the X1 box was and I informed him that the Tech guy took it with him. I told him that I've been following orders from Xfinity employees since yesterday and asked if any of the communication and problems were noted in there computer...evidently NOT! Frustration again from both parties was happening and rudeness from this Xfinity store was starting to annoy me. It wasn't until I raised my tone did this employee notice how mad I was getting and then he apologized. I have never been treated so poorly in all the years of shopping or walking into a place of business. The employees walk around like turtles and the way they respond to customers is unprofessional. I have no problem with Comcast at all through my relation with them for the 20 years straight. I can call 24/7 and my problem will be solved usually within 10 minutes either because a customer service rep will help me or because of the automatic diagnostic and recovery system. When I was told that my equipment was broken or need an update, I can order them and will receive within 2 days, usually by UPS. Still if I do not want to wait that long, I go to the store in Santa Rosa (used to be at airway drive - now at Santa Rosa Avenue) and switch out with a new equipment. The employes know what they should give me by just looking at the record in my account. You can ask for extra remote controls without having to pay at all. Only one problem. By the end of contract, you have to call them and ask for another contract with discounted price -- which there is always one -- otherwise you will get charged for a lot more money read more

I went in to get a TV box. The lady at the front, the younger one, was not very helpful. First of all, they said it would take less than 20 minutes. Nope, more like 45 minutes. Then when I was helped by the same women at the front desk, she was multi tasking and not paying attention to customers. I asked her for a tv cable box and she gave me a tv adapter box instead which I didn't notice. I had to exchange the box the next day. The one women at the front desk was unprofessional, preoccupied and made mistakes. Second time around much better with different person helping me. I'm only a comcast internet customer because there is no one else in town that can deliver comparable speeds. I do have to say that it rarely goes down for me and is much faster and more reliable than my previous internet provider (AT&T). I tried signing up for cable last month and it turned out to be a terrible fiasco for which I am literally paying the price. First they promised me one package at a certain price and then downgraded the package for the same price. Then when I wanted to bump it up to a different package they promised me one price and then jacked it up when the bill came. I cancelled under their 30 day guarantee. Let's be clear - although Comcast may charge a lot nationally, I am definitely basing this review only on the local service. Which sucks. It started with the overcharging, the HBO they wouldn't discontinue even when asked....and asked. Then our cable started messing up. They told us over the phone the problem was on their end, but they wouldn't come out to fix it. Fine. We cancelled the cable part of our service. I went to return the cable box. Not trusting those drop boxes (they didn't scan in our equipment properly in the past), I went inside and had to wait 30 minutes. There weren't even that many people in the store. The customer service employees walk around like they're on vacation or something. Seriously they just wander about with no sense of how long they're taking. When one customer left the counter, it took one agent over 5 minutes to call up the next person. Then when I finally came up to the counter and explained why I didn't drop my equipment in the box outside, the woman serving me said, "Well, that's what it's there for." Yeah. UPDATE AUGUST 2017: I have learned the only way to deal with these guys without surprises is to go directly into their offices and do nothing over the phone. It is a bit of a pain but you can clarify things more easily and review what charges will be line-by-line versus a quick blurb over the phone. PAST EXPERIENCE........ THE INITIAL PASSWORD IS SUPPOSED TO THE THAT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ROUTER. THEY CHARGED ME FOR A PASSWORD WHEN THE MODEM-ROUTER THEY GAVE ME DID NOT HAVE THIS AS ITS DEFAULT. Roommate moved out so I picked up cable. I had no choice but to turn in all equipment and take new. This included a new modem-wireless router. I had trouble setting up my wireless devices (which I had done before and knew what I was doing). After about an hour I called them. The first tech hung up or we got hung up on. The second gave up and referred me to an expert service for $5.95. I was transferred to a pre-fee approval person who said the issue was the password but would no provide the password until I paid the $5.95. I had received no other password. I was not happy. So I had to pay $5.95 to have comcast set the password (which I assume was not done from when the equipment had be turned in by someone else). I was a "valued customer" of all of two days so they waived the service sign up fee of $39.95. All this took about two hours on top of my one. Bottom line, is this low life company waster my time and charged me for a password they tell you to use in their setup literature. read more

Wow just spent 45 minutes trying to pay my bill using the automated system and going back and forth with customer service reps just trying to pay my mom's bill for her. Comcast charges $4.95 extra if you are talking to a customer service rep trying to pay your bill. Problem is the automated system will only update your payment info. I will not take an immediate payment for some reason. I was bounced back and forth between automated system and customer service rep about 6 times. If you expect good customer service use another service. I have another location with DTV and I have to say that there service is awesome in comparison. read more

I know it's rare to see a 5-star review for an ISP - any ISP - yet this is one (with a caveat that this is about a local sales rep only). We bought a home in a new development and about 2 weeks before we moved in, I made an appointment with our sales rep for a Comcast tech to come by to do the hooking up part. Tech comes by at the appointed time, pokes around in the cable box on the house and in the street, says he can't find the signal. Pokes around some more, says he can't find a signal anywhere on our block or the block next to us. Says it was probably a problem with the USA contractor who did the main cabling. Left without our knowing if we would have TV or internet any time soon (we both work from home - we NEED internet service!). Fast forward to about 2:00 and I decide to call our sales rep, Mike Z, and see if he knows anything. He is upset at the tech, says he KNOWS there's service in the development because he personally had hooked up two or three houses already. (Note to self: Get a sales guy who used to be an installer. They know stuff, important stuff.) Said he'd get back to us in a half-hour or so. By 5:00, no call-back, so I called him again and left a message that we still had heard nothing. 8:00 PM, as we're walking to get dinner, Mike calls, offering a thousand apologies for being in a place with no cell service, he called as soon as he heard my message AND SAID HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO OUR HOUSE. So he could hook our cable up. Himself. No waiting for another tech, no calling to make another appointment at some vague time in the future. No, he was on his way, with another installer buddy, and they would get us fixed up. They arrived shortly before we returned from dinner and had already identified the cable and the signal and were in the process of getting it connected. They then both spent a half-hour in the house getting one of the TVs hooked up, then the other guy left and Mike stayed to hook up the second TV and the internet. He left around 10:00. That's PM, folks; 10 o'clock at night. We were astounded at this above-and-beyond activity, and appreciated it mightily. Thanks to Mike, we were back in business the next day. Now, I can't speak to Comcast's customer service line or the personnel in their Santa Rosa office, but I definitely recommend Mike Z as a sales rep and the epitome of awesome service. read more

I've heard the horror stories about customer service, cockroaches crawling out of DVRs, etc. I don't doubt stuff like that happens, but I'm not trying to take on Comcast the Bohemoth Corporate Entity in this review, just talk about their local service here in Santa Rosa. Which has been fine all around and at a reasonable price. Had them for a little over 2 years now, first year was "Digital Starter" only, 2nd year I downshifted to "Digital Basic" but got one of their faster internet connections. The Basic + internet is in a bundle which started at a promo rate of about $40 (for 6 months), but has since crept up to $60 and now $65. I'm fine with that price as long as it stays there, though. Their "On Demand" deal allows you to watch nearly any show from the channels you don't get ... albeit 24 hours after original broadcast (can do this thru their website too.) And no one is going to mistake the Xfinity Streampix selection for Netflix, but it has a decent assortment of older movies, I've always been able to find some 80s/90s classic from my childhood on there for those lazy "crash on the couch" type of evenings. I can't remember having one service interruption, like, ever so far. Customer service has been fine and speedy on the few occasions I've had to contact them. There was a minor kerfuffle where I was moving to a new residence, but not immediately, so I couldn't directly transfer my service ... they initially tried to charge me $200 for breaking my first contract early, but when I set up new service all it took was one phone call and an explanation of the situation, and they made the $200 fee disappear with no hassle at all. There can be a bit of a wait at their Airway location sometimes but it's a pleasant environment to sit and the staff I encountered were competent and polite. I guess Sonic might be worth the extra money if you have some complex intranet shiz going on and foresee a bunch of customer service calls in your future, but for just basic household internet and TV this is just fine at a much more reasonable price. After speaking to Comcast over the phone for 2 days, I was given instructions to go to my local store to pick up equipment. Once there, I explained to an employee what I was there for. Right off the bat, with a harsh tone I was told he could not give me the equipment but instead sell it to me. I tried to explain to him what I was told by the tech over the phone. However, he did not care to listen and continued to tell me that their policies are different. I was very confused, because the policies should be the same whether over the phone or in-person. Instead of trying to find a solution to my problem, he continued to have an attitude. At this point I began to get upset and he refused to help me. I moved into a new place and got 6 month promo pricing. When that promo pricing was up (no contract) I called Comcast up to see about being put on another promo deal - I got transferred no less than 3 times with the last conversation being something like - well, if you want to cancel service go ahead - we're not giving you a better rate because we don't care about our current customers - only new customers. So I said - so - let me get this straight - I can CANCEL service and then RESTART it and get the promo pricing? To which they replied YES but we prefer you don't do that.... uhh... yeah me too so just give me the promo pricing?? Nope. I did consider switching over to Sonic.net for internet but then I'd still have the TV issue.... so I ended up going down to the Comcast office where I needed to go anyway to return their modem that they charged a $5/mo rental fee on (bought my own for $50) and I told them my plight and they ended up giving me the promo pricing back so I guess 1 additional star for someone at Comcast not being an asshole and actually being helpful? Those poor people up there too - it's like they get the brunt of all of corp's mistakes. I had another issue and they're like - they (1-800-COMCAST) told you what? And rolled their eyes and made it better. So - I am thankful that the Comcast office is helpful. Still, Comcast's call center service is a NIGHTMARE. For the period I had Comcast living in Santa Rosa, I couldn't have been happier with the service. Granted, I only had internet, so I can't review the TV or phone service (Not that I understand why anyone would want phone service these days). I at first had the BLAST! Internet (16/2), which they gave me on a 12 month promo at $19.99 per month. Very acceptable. Once the new speeds launched, I jumped up to the Extreme package (50/10) for $100/mo. The speeds were always in spec, and the service never went down. Crazy, I know...but true. I considered getting the TV, but I wouldn't have been happy with the sub-par HDTV selection and the terrible DVR that feels like it's from 1992. Time to upgrade that side of things, Comcast! read more

Sometimes life gives you good surprises when you least expect it. My visit to Comcast and the resulting outcome was one of them. Reading all the negative reviews I was ready for disappointment but it was all good. Our router is located upstairs in the computer room in our two story home (router can't be moved to another room). We have always had some problems with buffering when viewing streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Recently the problem with buffering worsened making it nearly impossible to sit down a watch a show. Decided to go to the Xfinity Store here on SRA to see what could be done. At mid morning I was already 20th in line and expected to be there till noon. The line moved quickly (there were several Xfinity technicians) and in 10-15 minutes, I was called. Explained the problem to the technician and immediately he told me he had a solution. He said he had the exact same router problem in his two story apartment. I gave him the current router and he gave me a new different model. I asked how sure he was and he said I GUARANTEE this will work. Its been about 5 weeks and we have streamed numerous shows, movies and even several series and it has not buffered even once. My total time in the store was 20 minutes and came away with a solution. Why not 5 stars, if I could buy that model router instead of renting it for $10.00 a month it goes to 5 stars. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. Xfinity has the worst customer service ever. The associates are rude and unhelpful - not to mention they are grossly understaffed. I arrived at 10:00 am when they opened and there was already a line of about 10 people. The only reason I came to the store was because technical support tried to fix an internet pod but determined it was defective so they told me to go to the store and just exchange it. Well after waiting outside for about 20 minutes, a woman "checked us in" and asked why we were there. I explained the situation to her and she said they would have to help me inside. I waiting in that line for an hour and 15 minutes. At one point, they didn't bring any customers in to help for 40 minutes. After finally making it inside, the rude agent told me he couldn't exchange it for me and there was nothing he could do. I asked for the manager so he started typing a message to her (Darlene) and she said she was in the back office in meetings until 2:00. I expressed my discontent and asked him to read the notes the technical service rep put on the account telling me to come into the store. He told me it didn't matter what the notes said he couldn't exchange it. Now mind you, I was standing 2 feet away from a shelf that contained about 20 brand new pods (see photo). I told him I wanted to talk to the manager and he again said she would be available at 2. I said fine, I'll wait another 2 hours since I've already wasted 2 hours. Low and behold the manager, Darlene came out. She proceeded to tell me she also couldn't help because her pods are inventoried and I got mine from customer service. She claimed she could not transfer it. I then asked her why the tech support rep told me to come to the store and she said she didn't know but she would email corporate about the problem. I also asked her why the lady who checked me in an hour and a half prior didn't tell me I couldn't be helped and she again blaimed Corporate. So to end this story, I wasted two hours standing outside in line and they did absolutely nothing to help me. Now I have to deal with the stupid phone agents again. Darlene also told me she would "compensate me for my time" but when I asked how she said she didn't know. Xfjnity is the worst mistake EVER. Xfinity Store by Comcast - At least 25 brand new pods sitting right there. - Internet Service Providers Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

I didn't expect it to work out as well as it did - I'd heard so much bad stuff about Comcast. This is specifically about the local office and my experience with them, and their technicians. Specifically, this is an internet-only installation - no TV stuff at all. 1. The original installation was far better than I thought it would be - the "cable guy" was older, and a real veteran of everything that could go wrong. He had the cable tested and terminated quickly, then we made a new hole through the living room wall and installed the cable there. We tested it again and the signal was good, and with the Comcast modem (an old used Motorola 5100 Surfboard) was downloading at about 20Mb. Very cool. He told me about the termination on the cable and how I could sneak "basic" TV off if I wanted - but I didn't want. I hadn't understood that I needed a router as well as the modem - the AT&T DSL unit I was replacing had them combined. I called Comcast, and the rushed me a free (!) router - a Netgear 1000 (N150) - it has worked pretty well for the last year, except it doesn't like talking to an AppleTV over WiFi (but hard wired is fine), and it's slow talking to iPhones. 2. Then I realized when my "trial period" ran out they started to charge $7 a month for the modem (the router was still free), and I thought it was a good time to get my own. I wanted to get the super fast one, but I didn't know if it would work any better than the one I had, so I bought the current incarnation of the Motorola Surfboard (5101u) from a big box store - the firmware date is 2004. Installing it was easy, and getting Comcast to activate it was a piece of cake - I tried to call them up and spent a lot of time on hold as the technician did some magic, but I tried to just browse into it and BEHOLD it was able to activate itself! Yay! The technician was confused by that, but it worked, and the download was up to 26Mb. Very cool. 3. I then needed to return the old modem, and since I got a new router too I bundled both up and took them to the Comcast office - the one on Airway. I was prepared for the worst (based on the other reviews), but decided to be cheerful and see if I could get it to work well for me. There were almost no cars in the parking lot (a good sign! - midday on Friday). The "take a number machine" was broken, and I just took a seat , and right away the guy at the counter was free and called me up. He took both the modem and router back, gave me a receipt for them and said the computer showed them returned and wouldn't charge me any more (we'll see). He was very technically knowledgeable and I liked that. Then he found a way to save me some $25 a month with a trial TV subscription (which I won't use) - I just need to deactivate it in six months. Then he gave me a few spare cables I needed anyway, and I was done in about 15 minutes. Very cool. So, I'm happy. So, new modem, new router, and much faster internet, and we're saving money. read more

Just bull$&;*. Walked in last night and waited half an hour for my box. That was fine. Then couldn't get my box connecting to internet even after activation. Notice the wps button on the top of the modem was Broken, came back in next morning and now I've been waiting 15 mins just for my turn for them to grab a box from the box that's not broken. Meanwhile I'm watching the guy that checked me in just stand by the door waiting for people to come in. And not helping customers. They need more staff. It's a weekend and that's when people come in to get stuff done. They have 4 people working but have 9 kiosks available for helping customers. WTF is going on. For 120 dollars a month I should be able to come into a fully staffed store. read more

This review is not about the big coprporation of Comcast in general -- like all internet providers, they're too big and expensive, etc -- this is about the service provided at the Airway drive customer service center. After many years my modem finally died on Friday night. I called Comcast's 800 number and the tech on the other end had me unplug this then that. He tried resetting the modem, etc. Nothing worked, because the modem was dead. The tech gave me the address to the customer service center on Airway and said he'd notify them that I need a new modem. On Saturday morning (4/21/12) at about 11:AM I went into the service center on Airway drive. I was dirrected to take a number and wait. There were different little wating areas to wait for my number to be called. One little area had a kid's movie on a big screen. Other little waiting areas had other movies. I sat at a table with three or four computers and checked the Press Democrat. I sat there for maybe 4 minutes and my number was called. The guy at the counter looked up my account and gave me a new modem; he gave me another 800 number to call and code to my new equipment. At home I plugged everything in, called the 800 number, gave them the code and much to my astonishement, everything worked great. I certainly was not expecting that! read more

Made an appointment to pick up a modem to start new service. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited in the appointment line. I didn't get inside the store until 45 minutes after my appointment time. The associate that helped me kept getting phone calls on her cellphone and took those calls while helping me out. Not only is that rude but very unprofessional. Now I know why I had to wait in line that long and to makes things worse, the non appointment line wasn't even moving. read more

My bad, I didn't have my purchase receipt in hand, but had the bank statement one my cell. Even tho only 1 of these items had been sold for the month, I was treated like a common thief that may be trying to return an item " I could have gotten from any other store". When I told one of the many managers that I wasn't leaving until I got a refund he promptly told this 61 year old Grandmother that he would call the Police and have me escorted out. First I want to say that I have never written a review on any business ever. This is the first, but feel that the service that was given to its customers that were in the store was wrong and the assistant manager Samuel Wallack lacks any customer service as a manager that I have to say something about it. I went in the store with the understanding that I may have to wait and was ok with it. Checked with the young lady upon entering and a lady came in directly behind me this was at 5:10 pm on 12/02/2019. She did not sign in but went over to the Kiosk to make a payment and started complaining about making a payment with a check and the kiosk would not take her check. Other customers at the kiosk waited for kiosk to be fixed, although the lady with the check was helped by a Daniel ahead of everyone else that was already waiting. Asked young lady Tena'e (hope spelled name correctly) to get supervisor, she went to the back to get him. She came back out and said he is not coming out, asked her to go back again to get him, she come back out and said the same thing, after the 3rd request for him to come out he finally came out in a more defensive mode instead of coming out to see what the customer that requested him wanted. This by the way was the assistant Manager Samuel Wallack that took 3 requests for him to finally come out. Spoke to him about the customer with the check being helped ahead of all the others that had been waiting and he stated "if that is what happened there is nothing I can do about it, I wasn't out here and do not know what happened" Let him know to ask his employees and he stated "I am not going to ask them". Very rude, lack of customer service, lack of leadership, mentorship. Did not get helped per the check in process till 6:28 pm. The lady that came in behind me was out of the store in 15 to 20 minutes whereas myself and other customers were there for over an hour. I good manager would have come out of the back room to see how to better help the customers. Samuel Wallack lacks this ability as a manager. Yes, I did call Comcast/Xfinity to file a complaint on the store customer service and about Samuel Wallack and am now writing this post for others to review. Employees will follow what the manager has set forth, if you have dealt with this at this store, please understand that the employees are doing what they have been taught and it is not there fault. This was not Daniel's fault, nor Tena'e. A simple acknowledgment that they were going to help to lady with the check to the customers that had been waiting longer then me would have eliminated this post, and the same with the assistant manager. I had been waiting to get serviced by AT&T for over a month and just about had enough when I found out that they could no longer give me a date of when they could complete the job. I called Comcast and was able to get service the same day. Was in and out of this location in under 15mins. Thanks Comcast! read more

Went into the office to exchange a broken remote control that we've had since 2011. Clerk tells me it'll be $80. I was dumbfounded and speechless. Then the clerk says "I'm messing with you." I wasn't in the mood, to say the least. No wonder the general public hates Comcasst. read more

Although I went in on a busy day I feel like I had Great service thanks to Stevie! She was super friendly & really took the time to hear me out, explain my service & get a tech out to my home within a few days! She even asked me to follow up with her after the tech left. I definitely felt like she was really going above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my service. read more
