I went in expecting to drop a couple hundred dollars on new skates for my daughter just getting into skating, but they immediately got her into a used pair for a fraction of the price. Hadn't even considered that as a possibility. Certainly not looking to over-sell me. Also, I always get my skates sharpened there and they have been able to make small repairs and replace rivets on the spot. Can't beat the integrity of this place.

He is very knowledgeable and thorough when it comes to skate fitting. I really appreciated David's explanation of all the steps of getting the perfect fit for my boot. Between the heat molding, punching, and modifications he made to my skates, it really was so worth it. (Just be prepared to be in the shop for a good chunk of time!) Today I skated for the first time with the new boots and blades and the sharpening was absolutely perfect, I have never glided like I did today. Otherwise the staff handles everything well. It did take a while as there was a lot to talk about, so budget some time. They do custom orthotics and can order equipment for hockey and figure skating if it's not in stock.

Especially for goalie gear, this is one of the best stores as the goalie specialists are very knowledgeable about proper fitting and models, and are also fun to chat with. She was fitted for a size 1 ice skate and I was hesitant because I had just sized up her sneakers to 2s. I was assured there was plenty of room and deferred to them on it. Of course a month later she was complaining about them being too small. We came back to Peck's and they exchanged them for 2s and only subtracted $20 from the refund for her having worn them for a month. They had some scuffs and the insoles showed her feet print but they were otherwise in pristine condition. It was a better deal than I hoped for and I sincerely appreciate the accommodation of her growing feet. It goes to show how important customer service is because we will for sure be customers for life now (she really loves skating so it seems like we will stick with it, ha see what I did there?). They're very competitive and cheaper than paragon or even Amazon for kids skates and they sharpen your skates the first time for free. Definitely come here to support a local biz. Jim was very knowledgeable and gave me tips and guidance. After the fitting, he sent me onto the ice and encouraged me not only to check the alignment of the blades, but to first warm up and to take my time doing different moves to be sure to feel how the skates fit. I came back and we talked, and he sent me back out. In short: knowledgeable, attentive, cares. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

Never tries to upsell you, but give your kid the right equipment. They still do sharpening and they had a sale on the hockey equipment.
