    N2 beef muscle spicy noodlez
    Stanley W.

Spicy and delicious noodles! Beef muscles are not fatty which is great. Noodles are spicy, but not painful to eat. Service is not super fast, but everything is made fresh Seating is first come first serve on big metal tables.

I happened to be by myself and saw this open in Tangram mall. I love lamb and haven't had Xian's in a long time bc I actually went to their original spot in the dinky mall that Anthony Bourdain (RIP) shared on his show. So I got the lamb burger and even though my spice tolerance went down I asked if it was too spicy even though they said on menu it's spicy they can make it less for me. It was perfect! And the price was great! It's a fast food style ambiance with some bar stools and tables so I found a free spot to eat. The cashier & person I ordered from was patient and helpful so service was excellent. Definitely be back!

The N1 at medium spice. Just enough kick for me to not be dying

Okay so I've been wanting to try Xian style noodles for a long time. They also dont make this in the city I live in. So when I had the opportunity to try this is was so excited. I order the dried noodles with lamb. It was so flavorful and noodles were the perfect chewiness. The cashier was really helpful. This location is located in the new Tangram shopping center so the inside is set up to cater to a fast pace crowd. Everything was very clean and organized

say! i like xi'an famous foods spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles! i do! i like them, mike-i-am! and i would eat them in a boat. and i would eat them with a goat... and i will eat them, in the rain. and in the dark. and on a train. and in a car. and in a tree. they are so good, so good, you see! so i will eat them in a box. and i will eat them with a fox. and i will eat them in a house. and i will eat them with a mouse. and i will eat them here and there. say! i will eat them anywhere! i do so like xi'an famous foods spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles! thank you! thank you, mike i am. I love xi'an so much.. I do not care that they make you eat noodles on a little round seat and stainless steel bench while making you face against the wall like you are being punished. I enjoy looking at the splatters of noodle dishes past as I slurp down my own adding to the inadvertent splatter. They come absolutely swimming with delicious spicy goodness, but I have a compulsion to add more chili oil and flakes to the mix. N1 - spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles is the thing to get. I also love their dumplings with the tinge of sourness. I usually have one of their bottled teas to wash it down. I often plan to try other dishes, but whenever I come here those spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles call to me: pick me!... eat me!... mmm.. it's so good!

Xian Famous Foods is the perfect option for getting a quick bite that satisfies your craving for mala (spicy and numbing) flavors. Service: I went on a Sunday night so it was very quick. There were plenty of seats and you can order on a kiosk. And you can adjust the spice level, the amount of veggies, and less oil. The dish I ordered came quick! Food: I ordered a spicy cumin lamb with hand pulled noodles with regular spice level and less oil (4/5). It had an amazing flavor--with the right amount of spice where you can taste the flavor but still have that numbing taste. I also LOVED the soft, fresh texture of the hand pulled noodles. I like how there's a bite to it because of the texture. I think the only thing i wish was different was more vegetables. If there were more cabbages it would balance out the heaviness of the spicy oil. Overall I recommend the spicy cumin lamb or the other dry noodles (if you don't like gamey meat, then get the beef!) The noodles cost about $16-17 so I feel like it's kind of pricey. Ambiance: The decor is simple. The place is relatively new so it feels clean. It's a self serve kind of place so I saw a bit of trash left out but staff cleaned the seating area regularly.

I can see why this place is famous for their hand-pulled noodles! I got the spicy hand-pulled noodles with lamb. The lamb was good and tender enough, but the star of the show was the noodle. It had a bouncy, chewy texture and absorbed the delicious spicy sauce. I wonder if the noodles at the standalone locations are even better. The mall location has some seating, but it appears to be primarily a takeout joint. You can order via a kiosk with a card.

Ashamed to admit that as a life long New Yorker I've never had X'ian Famous Food... until today. Decided to try the location in Tangram Mall and was surprised to find lots of seating and a touch screen to order. Me and my sister both ordered the Spicy and Tingly Beef Muscle Hand Ripped Noodles, one with regular spice and the other less spicy. You could see the noodles being made fresh through the window that peers into the kitchen. We received our order in heaping plates which came out in around 10 minutes. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the beef was flavorful and tender. The sauce was spicy and numbing, a combo that's super addicting. I recommend the regular spice level if you can handle it because it definitely had more flavor which the addition of more chili oil. They did forget to put cabbage in one of the orders but I guess they were rushing to churn out dishes. I'm so glad I finally tried this NYC institution and I'll definitely be back.

The spicy cumin lamb noodles were delicious! Very flavorful and the noodles are addictive to eat. They are chewy and soaks up all the spicy sauce. Can't wait to try out other dishes.

These two dishes were so salty as to be inedible. There are many superior options in Tangram Mall--I won't ever make this mistake again.

You don't really think of noodle soup when it comes to @xianfoods - in fact, for me, I don't often consider eating here because 85% of their items are spicy. I wish they had more non option items. . I've always liked their noodles, love how they are thick and chewy and made right before your eyes (at least in this location since there is an open kitchen view). At times it doesn't look like a lot but it's really a lot. I couldn't finish it. I ate most of it. If I didn't have a movie to catch afterwards, I would have taken the rest to go. The broth was so flavorful. . The pork was very tender and I thought it would have been dry, but it wasn't dry at all. It was soaked in the sauce it stewed in. . I do wish they had an extra veggie often. They have the option of you want to omit an item but no option to have more of an item. I would have loved some more cabbage and cilantro. . I like the space they have inside @tangramnyc - it's spacious, bright and clean. Can't say the same for their old location inside the Flushing Mall (RIP). But if you think about it, Tangram did replace Flushing Mall, so they are in the same location.

Excellent food for the price! Service was quick and love the modern ambiance, although the space can get crowded rather quickly. I got the food to go and it was still great. The hand pulled noodles are something else. Lovely pull and texture. Really takes on the spicy sauce well. The shredded pork was excellent as well. Large chunks with lots of flavor, all while staying tender. I also got the spicy soft tofu, which was fantastic. Really takes tofu to another level with the spice and savory notes. Would definitely come back to try more items next time :)

I really loved this place!!! A friend recommended it to me and stated that it was some of the best hand pulled noodles in NYC. The spicy cumin lamb noodles were her favorite, so I gave it a try. The SAUCE!!!! So good. I loved the cumin flavoring and the strong spices going on. It's clear that the creator of the recipe (Jason Wang) valued the flavor in the spicy goodness. I got these mild and it was still packed with flavor. A slight vinegar flavor and tons of savory tones going on from the lamb. Everything just paired perfectly. My only gripe about this place: the paper plates... Not sure if this is my fault for not mixing the noodles immediately when I received the food(?) - but just an FYI to anyone who is dining in. Look out for paper plate bits!

Excellent. You'll pass up other restaurants that look better and maybe they are, but the food here is delicious and served quick. It is piping hot. Definitely get whatever you get with their chili spice.

I ordered the Wonton, Dumpling, & Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($14.75) under the "Popular Items" section of the menu since it seemed sampler-esque. The wontons and dumplings were similar since they both contained shrimp and pork but I leaned towards the dumplings since they also included mushroom, bamboo, wood ear, and chives. The duck egg noodles, beef, and broth rounded out the awesomeness. Can't wait to return with others!

The food came out quick! Their kitchen is in the basement and they have the dumb waiter sending up food, so very efficient use of space. The Dumplings in Chili Oil (can adjust spice level and cilantro) has added texture with crushed peanuts. We got the regular spicy, but could have gotten extra spicy. They were a decent appetizer but I'd go for something else. The Abalone and Chicken Rice Noodles had decent chicken flavor. There were a couple pieces of dark meat, which I enjoyed. Not sure if there was abalone in here, but if there was, it was nondescript. The rice noodles were well cooked. The Plum Juice had a lovely smokey flavor, along with a lemony flavor form the couple of lemon slices inside. It was not too sweet, though I personally could go for less sugar.
