The carne asada meat was really good, Has a very good taste to it

This was my first time coming to this restaurant, and I really liked the food I eat and drink I had, The place was really clean, music not too loud, and the customer service was on point. I will be going back for sure! Specially or the drinks

Portions and drinks are HUGE! Food was good. We were hoping for something more authentic, but for typical Mexican food this place is good and has a nice atmosphere.

Feel very Americanized Mex restaurant. Food a bit pricy for Yakima standard but taste good.

I absolutely love this place. Great food, good service, small and quiet environment, low lighting for a romantic mood. A large menu allows you to try out many different Mexican dishes, and love them all. A must try place.

We really want to like it.... There were some great reviews, it was clean with nice interiors. The service was fantastic but the food, not so much. The chicken was so over cooked it was rubbery. And how do you get the coke mixture wrong? We should have known by the 2 cars in the parking lot, most likely the chef & waitress. :(

The facts: home-made delicousness, awesome knowledgable service, amazing drinks, did i mention kick-ass food?!? Well it is! I just had a spicy shrimp dish, chipolte camorones in a spicy creamy sauce with mushrooms, delish! So much more to try, think that I'll make this a weekly or even bi-weekly stop to keep my new found cravings at bay... So here I am, shouting from the rooftops, GO TO XOCHIMILCO!!!! You definately won't regret it, if you do, I'll buy you a drink the next time we run in to eachother!

Dimly lit romantic place. Best. We ordered the usual steak fajitas. It was obviously a House recipe instead of the typical greasy salty flavor. This was sweet and lightly spicy. An order for one was more than enough for us 2 plus we had some to take home. Asked for extra flour tortillas and there was no charge for them. That's a good sign of better than the typical place. The dipping sauce is spicy. Great for helping get those margaritas down. We had the cabo Rita. Great flavor with respectable amount of teq. We also had a mango. It was phenomenal BUT I don't think it had any teq. In it. That was my only disappointment. We were looking for a quiet dimly lit place. This was perfect. Most everyone there were couples. Not your basic Mexican restaurant. The music was at a perfect volume. Music was great and not your typical Mexican restaurant music. Very classy place without being snobbish. Servers were dressed nicely. Just can't say enough about this place. We've eaten at 100's of Mexican and Texmex places from Texas to Florida to the northwest and this is the nicest place for the money. 14.99 for fajitas. 8.50 for Rita,a little spendy. I'd rather spend a little more than feel like I'm in a hog house with 100 other guests. This is your romantic dinner place, not my choice for greasy Mexican lunch on Black Friday. I would give this place 4.75 stars but I can't. It's worth more to me than 4 but less than 5 but it's better than letting the overall score go down so I'll rate a 5.

Huge Carne Asada what a deal! Really tasty and great service. Salsa is pretty crappy but like the chips it was free.

I was surprised by how well they made over the interior of the old Skipper's, it felt nice inside.

Came on a lovely late spring day. We had our dog with us and they let us sit on the patio, which…read morewas nice. They even brought out an umbrella to keep us a bit shaded from the sun. They brought out refreshing cups of water, chips and 6 types of salsa, while we reviewed the menu. The "chips" are actually whole corn tortillas fried! So you use them whole or break them into chips yourself. My guess on the salsas are: salsa verde (tomatillo), avocado, pico de gallo, a smoky ancho, a citrusy habanero, and something else. They all had distinct flavors and a little light spice, but we wanted spicier. They brought out the "no way Jose" sauce and warned us it's their spiciest and it sneaks up on ya! We tried it and found it was not burning but quite nice. We drizzled this sauce all over our food. It was the most flavorful of the bunch. The menu is quite extensive, with everything from sopas to sopes, tortas to tacos, cocktails to desserts. We each got a plate of food, meaning the main entree comes with Mexican red rice and refried beans. I got the sopita (aka sope) with barbacoa and a fish taco and husband got a dipped torta (I forget the name) filled with adobada. The amount of food and meat was quite generous, the toppings (veggies) too. I really enjoyed my sope - it had the perfect crispy crust and I could taste the slightly sweet creamy taste of the masa. The barbacoa was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was more like stewed beef meat. It was fine but I was expecting really deep flavor. The fish taco seemed freshly grilled and was moist, but there was a bit of a "fishy" smell and flavor that kind of took over. Thankfully, the generous veggie toppings and fresh handmade corn tortilla and salsas helped mask the flavor. Have to hand it to them that those tortillas are really good! The Mexican rice was perfect. I haven't had that flavor and texture in Mexican rice in a while and thought that was well done. The refried beans were good but also had a flavor I couldn't place my finger on... My husband said everything was really good on his plate. His torta was massive! Really flavorful and stacked with things. The adobada was very tasty. I wish I ordered that meat instead of the barbacoa and fish. Overall pretty good Mexican food, generous portions, really sweet service. The interior is also really clean and nicely decorated. They have a small parking lot out back.

We ordered from the lunch menu offered Monday-Friday. What a great deal! We both ordered the Carne Asada plate for just under $16! The kids menu was also affordable at $6.50. The staff is friendly and efficient, which makes it an ideal spot for a relaxed lunch. The restaurant is medium sized with adequate parking out front, and if things get busy, there's plenty of overflow in the adjacent Fred Meyer lot. The restaurant is in the middle of the strip mall just north of Fred Meyer. My spouse ordered the Avocado Tostada, which was generously sized and clearly delicious--he ate more than usual. It came with rice and refried beans, both well prepared. I used to order the Cheese/Onion Enchilada plate, which includes two enchiladas plus rice and beans, and I'd always end up taking half home (never quite the same reheated). Since my appetite is smaller, I now ask for just one cheese/onion enchilada on its own. The staff never blinks at the request, and my husband happily shares a bit of his refried beans with me. My meal was perfection. Definitely worth checking out. It's not the most extraordinary Mexican food in the area, but it's always very good--better than we can make at home--and that's why we keep coming back.
