    Cantarito!

This is the most instagrammable spot on the Malecon! The hip little restaurant had amazing cantaritos, ceviche, and fish tacos. It was right on the Malecon--a perfect last spot to soak up vacation relaxation. The service was quick. The food was good. The drinks were delicious. The decor was so cute. Don't miss this spot. Lot of gluten-free and dairy-free choices.

The drinks were really yummy here and we got to keep the traditional cups. You can ask for a clean one. The foods was pretty good too. I got my ceviche in a coconut and it made for cool pics. The prices are a little higher than usual due to the tourist location but worth it for the scenery and vibes.

New York strip steak cooked on hot rock by Marco was delicious & unique experience! Yummy mango smoothies. Awesome giant coconut shrimp! Xolo Nachos good too. Have eaten here every time I've been to PV.

First stop on our trip. We'll be back often! Marco was very helpful and gave great service. I especially enjoyed that the cantarita was made with fresh juice. Nachos were fantastic - get them with the asada!

Great spot! The carnitas tacos were AMAZING. we loved them. The fish ceviche was fresh and very flavorful. The Don Julio margarita hit the spot on a very steamy hot day in July.

All I can say is Molcajete! That's all you need to remember! Those are the words you need to say as soon as you sit down and it's going down at your table! This meal is definitely fit for two. Surprise after surprise meets is down in the bottom of this Molcajete bowl. As you dig in to the bottom of the lava like sauce it warms you up to everything hanging on the side. This dish is packed with tender steak, chicken, fish, shrimp and a sauce out of this world. We love extra sauce, refilling each piece of meat in the sauce is the kicker! Served with a side of rice, beans and tortilla, it's a mariachi in your mouth!

Came here on my first day in Vallarta and ordered the shrimp cocktail. Got food poisoning from it and spent most of my trip in the bathroom. My 5 year old also got sick off of something he ordered but wasn't as bad

    Shrimp Aguachile.... are amazing!!!!

Xolo Restaurant is a hidden gem in the Malecón. When you get your food you can tell that the chef really pays attention to detail and food is amazing. Take a seat and enjoy what they call the "Mexican AC" which is a fan that keeps you fresh.

great service, shots were amazing and smooth, and food is yummy

Really $ for what the food was. Nice location. Ordered fish taco and the cheese. Not the best of both in ZR.

They visit often and stated that it was one of their favorites. I had the Fruit of the Sea. It was absolutely delicious and served in a light white sauce with garlic bread. I visited somewhat early so it wasn't very busy. I'm adding it to my new PV favorites list. It's a very small place with interesting art work and a warm ambiance. By the way, I'm a red wine drinker and the Chilean Cabernet was very nice.

The concierge at my hotel suggested that, for a quick bite, I walk to a restaurant that he marked on my map. It was only three minutes away. That restaurant was shuttered and closed, despite it being only 8pm on a Saturday. So I went next door and found Chenando's. The prices looked a little steep, but I was hungry and ready just wanted some soup, which was on the appetizer menu. Despite the heat, I love soup and find that soup in Mexico has never let me down. I went in and was seated immediately with a smile. I only brought a little cash with me, because even though this area feels very safe, I was a solo lady with intermediate Spanish, at best, at night, in a new place. This place did not take credit, much like almost every other place in Puerto Vallarta. I asked if they could make the tortilla soup with chicken, since I wanted to get at least a little protein, and the waiter happily obliged. You guys. Holy shit. I come to Mexico at least three times a year, trying out different cities. This might have been the best meal I've had in all of those trips. It was easily the best tortilla soup of my life. The chunks of avocado were so soft and had absorbed the flavor of the soup. They melted like butter in my mouth. THEN there was the bread! I don't even know what it was. Sort of like Hawaiian rolls, but toasted. Freaking awesome. If I wasn't so full from the soup, I would have stuffed all three giant pieces in my face. I could only do one. They asked how it was and I announced that this was the most delicious soup of my life. The two other tables had couples dining who enthusiastically agreed that the food here is next level. One couple from the Netherlands said they come here three times a year. From the Netherlands. To eat here, specifically. Yeah, I could see that. Altogether, my bill was 155 pesos, just under $9 USD. Hell yeah. They even gave me chocolate covered raisins with my bill.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. I got a virgin strawberry margarita, the wife got a coke. It was very affordable.

Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint. Good atmosphere, clean surrounding and great service and vegan food - what more can one ask?

We ventured…read moreout to La Capella the other night, and honestly, it wasn't just a meal; it was an entire experience, fantastic from the moment we arrived until we reluctantly left. First things first, the setting is straight out of a postcard. Picture this: you're perched high up, gazing out at this unbelievably beautiful, sparkling blue sea, with an old, quaint church adding character to the horizon. It's truly a dreamscape, especially as the sun begins its descent, painting the sky with the most incredible colors. Seriously, it's the kind of view that makes your jaw drop and your worries melt away. Pure, unadulterated magic! Our evening was made even more special by our fantastic waiter, Jarod. What a star! He was genuinely charming and incredibly attentive, always there right when we needed him without being intrusive. He kept everything running smoothly, offered great suggestions, and truly made us feel like royalty. His warmth and efficiency really elevated the whole vibe of the night. And then, the food... oh my goodness, the food! It was nothing short of culinary perfection. I couldn't resist ordering my beloved pork osso bucco again - it's become my absolute favorite there, and for good reason! It arrived unbelievably tender, practically melting in your mouth, and every bite was an explosion of rich, delectable flavors. Just as phenomenal as I remembered, if not better! Honestly, every single dish that graced our table was impeccably prepared and utterly delicious. Seriously, if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, you *must* put La Capella on your list. And here's my golden nugget of advice: make sure to grab an early reservation. Trust me, you absolutely do not want to miss that breathtaking sunset; it transforms an amazing dinner into an absolutely legendary one. Go on, treat yourself - you won't it.

I made reservations a few weeks in advance and we were able to sit on the terrace to enjoy the views. They had live violinists (three!!) that were playing, it was so romantic. I loved the violinists, they were all so nice and friendly. I got the guava martini which was good and I ordered the spageti bolognese, which was tender and flavorful. The dish was solid with a nice presentation. They also brought out complimentary olive bread with parmesan grated cheese which was really good. The food and drinks are pricey! For the 4 of us including drinks and dinner, it ended up being almost $70 per person. Service was just okay, our waiter was a little stern and we had to flag to get his attention a few times. I would definitely come here for a special occasion, for the beautiful view and ambience.
