I had come here due to them taking my warranty from Carmax through repair pal and I do not regret it whatsoever! I called AAA to get my car towed to diamond Honda. The tow guy came and told me express Auto svc is cheaper and get your car fix. So I decided to get my car tow to XPRESS AUTO SVC for a diagnostic test. The test will cost me $105 and it will go towards parts and labor once they find out what's wrong. After two days they couldn't find out why my car was turning on. However, Jose told me it might be the ECM(ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) but he needed 3 hrs to get to the problem. The catch is Jose is going to charge me $105 each hours- for the total of $315. Jose can't guarantee that's was the problem. So I decided to get the car tow to another mechanic which they told me it's the computer board that got burned and need to get it replaced. DON'T get burned at XPRESS AUTO SVC. A few days ago I went on a trip with some friends when suddenly our old Honda Pilot down. Unsure of where to get my car fixed, the towing service recommended I go here. I was a little skeptical because I was unfamiliar with the area but these guys made us feel safe with our decision! They were very caring, honest, and made sure our car was in good condition before our 7 hour drive back home. My Mercedez Benz needed a new battery and they honored my AAA warranty and replaced the battery The whole visit only took about an hour as they performed several required diagnostics. And they (Jose) believe in customer service with me and with numerous other clients that I saw him take care of as I was in the waiting lounge. Always taking time to explain the issues and solutions. Bad experience, took my Honda for a busted $10 radiator a hose it cost $40to replace. They advised of Thermostat I said OK $50. Then they advised that my head gasket was bad they wanted $1500 I said NO! and im glad I said NO. took it to another mechanic, and they said no head gasket problem. Express auto was going to charge $1,500 starting.then they said "once we fix that, then we'll see if there other problems". So they were not even sure that was going to resolve the issue. I could have easily spent over $2000 by the time all was said and done. one of the mechanics even told me "oh its not to expensive to fix the gaskets...Its only $1500 starting". i dont know about him but in my tough economic world $1500 dollars is ALOT! Never coming here again!! I read someone elses review and they had a similiar experience to mine, so it must be common practice to try and squeeze you out your money, when they can. read more

I took my car to Xpress Auto for a broken steering pump hose. Hanna was friendly, but every time he fixed something, other problems that needed attention came up. I don't know if they were things that I missed or if they were phantom problems. In other words, a $200 repair cost me close to a grand. The car's check engine light is still on, but it seems to be running a little better than before. I won't take it back for the light in fear it'll cost me more. If you have AAA, chances are the driver will recommend this shop. Sadly not because it's a good honest place, but because the driver will be compensated for the referral. When u see more than one negative review from a AAA recommended auto service that alone should raise res flags. This place charged me 800$ for something I did not need. I went to one stop lube and they fixed my engine light with 20$. Im not car literate. But I do know my engine light was not fixed after this place ran what they call a diagnostic and they wanted me to pay more after they could not fix it the first time around. What a joke. read more

They didn't do a transmission oil change like I asked, wtf I guess I don't matter, then they tried to stick me with a 5000 bill for something that wasn't even relevant to my vehicle situation. Almost like they wanted to steal my money! But what pissed me off the most is that when I picked up my truck, they wouldn't stop trying to get me to pay for it even with financing, and the shifter and steering wheel had grease all over it! ** Changed my review based on my experience dated Oct 16, 2014. Be weary and follow your instincts. If the owner on the phone does not answer your questions or is not upfront about the costs you inquire first, then beware. I don't mind paying to have my car checked because no one offers services for free, but all you have to do is be upfront from the beginning. but to take on additional services not disclosed, truly not consumer appropriate. Wasted 40 minutes of my time to get it checked only to have the Owner to refuse the service. To each his own. I think AAA is great, but they will definitely get a review on my end as well. **First of all, I came here after the AAA tow guy referred me to them! And I am very happy he did. The AAA guy referred me to Xpress Auto so I didnt have to be inconvenienced to wait for the tow truck after he charged the battery in my car. After he cured the battery, I asked him to check the alternator and after the test, the alternator was dead. Hence, I willingly followed him to Xpress Auto and Hanna and Jose immediately came out to diagnos the vehicle. Long story short, they were able to deliver my car completed with a new battery and alternator within less than an hour and a half. And mind you this is 530 pm on a Friday evening when they could have easily closed shop at 6pm! Jose asked if I had been to the shop before and I said "NO, " and there after he gave me great service to include a reasonable AAA discount and he assured the mechanics working on the vehicle would get it done the same day! I cannot be pleased more and even better, Jose was able to apply a two year warranty to labor and parts on both the battery and alternator. Really helpful guy and Hanna was also great with customer service and satisfaction. He gave me a refreshing Gatorade as I was leaving! Surely, customer service is very important to them. I also want to note that the lobby area is nice and clean with A/C and a bathroom conveniently close by. This is definitely a great place to bring in your domestic and foreign vehicles to get looked at ! read more

Great service, very hospitable. I went to a Xpress because of a recommendation from the repair website for Max Care, but thank goodness I didn't have to go through the car max warranty because of a small detail with our new car. Apparently newer cars don't start correctly if there are obstructions on the key ring so it just so happens the car wouldn't start because of a key ring accessory. Hannah noticed this right away because he had a similar experience with a brand new car that wouldn't start in the past. Over all I was very pleased with the service I received and I would recommend to others, they really saved me a lot of time and money! read more

I went here with a AAA membership and first they tried to lie to me about needed to have a AAA battery in order to get a diagnostic. This is absolutely not true as seen here from AAA website: AAA members enjoy these additional benefits: Free testing of the battery, starting, and charging systems AAA Battery installation included at no additional charge Free battery charging and retesting AAA mobile warranty service that comes to you, available throughout the U.S. and Canada Then the tech tried to tell me I had to then pay $85 for a diagnostic even though I said all I wanted was to test my battery charge...a 5 min job. They acted like neanderthals with absolutely no tact, cordialness and politeness. From how they responded, I think you can pretty much expect to get ripped off. I mean, look at how low their rating is already!! Anyway, note to AAA members: Just take your car down the street to Auto Zone, they checked the charge, the Cold Cracking Amps and alternator for free!!! read more

Where do I start? I had my daughters MINI towed there because they were AAA approved. They said it needed a timing chain. The price for parts was double dealer list price. 5 times internet prices. I OKd it because by the time I paid to get it towed somewhere else it would be about the same. After they did the timing chain, they called me and said they started it. It ran fine for a minute or 2 then it started smoking. I contacted a MINI Cooper specialist and I was told that the oil pan needs to be removed any time the timing chain guides break because metal will fall down and destroy the motor if it is not removed. I contacted the shop and spoke with the manager. He was very upset and rude to me and cussed me out. I asked if they removed the oil pan and they said they didn't. So due to their incomplete/incompetent repair, I now need a new engine. I don't think they are theives, I just think they are greedy and know they are incompetent. read more

We were recommended to take our vehicle to this location by our AAA roadside assistance driver... apparently this would give us a discount for being part of AAA.. we had to get our fuel pump replaced and this place charged us almost $800 dollars! We have a 2001 Chevy Silverado... they recommended other repairs such as water pump and oil pan gasket which they wanted to charge and said would come out to over $980 for the water pump and $600 for the gasket.. they take advantage of people who do not know about any of this... don't go there to get your money stolen!!! I have been going here for the past few years. They do a thorough inspection and always let the customer know what is wrong before they continue work. More often than not, they've addressed underlying issues along with standard maintenance without much input from myself. If they notice something else is wrong with your car, they won't leave it unaddressed. Would recommend, just have a level head, the owner's personality can rub some people the wrong way. read more

My car was damaged in a flood and I from the beginning explained that I needed that fact referenced, so I can arrange to be reimbursed for the damages. Avoid here at all cost. Especially AAA members because all they try to do is squeeze money out of you. Also the owner Hanna was very rude and not professional at all. I had my car towed there because my car was not starting. So I called AAA to check my car out and he told me that it was my fuel pump that was broke and recommend this place to me so I had it towed there. But when I arrived here, I was greeted pretty well and I thought that this place was legit. They told me that it will be $80 for them to check out the car to find out the problem and even provided me a rental car. But from this point on everything went down hill. The next day, I got a call from them saying that they don't know the exact problem but they think it is the fuel pump but it will cost an additional charge of $300 for them to find out for sure and then maybe another $600 for the parts. This was a lot of money so I decided to get a second opinion from my regular mechanic (who I should have gone to in the first place) but kept getting told that I was being stupid for moving the car to another shop by the manager, Hanna. Well turn out that my car was just low on gas and that Hanna was just trying to get almost $1000+ from me. read more

Called on a Friday shop owner said it would be 500 called back Monday to make sure I had the total rite the. He says 650 . I quickly towed my car out of there . I was referred to this business by Perez Wheels and Tires ( A fine business, I have done business with them for several years) because of the engine light on my vehicle. First I was given an estimate of $600 (I understand that estimates are just that, estimates), As the inspection progressed, I received several calls on which additional things were being found, coils, connectors wires, spark plugs, rodent damage etc, and even doing preventive repair to avoid damage to the canister or something like that. Soon the cost was at $1,600.00. It was my gut feeling that I was being overcharged so, I took my car away from this place not before paying $270 for labor ( I understand this cost, that is a worker must be compensated for his work). As a customer, I felt cheated, why?, because my problem just got bigger and more expensive and at the time I did not have a place to take my car. Fortunately, I found a place in Rowland Heights that did an excellent job identifying all of the issues that were wrong with my car. The assessment was completed within one hour and the job was done in half day at a cost of $895. Regardless of how the ownership answers to this review, buyers beware. read more

Is it a grave mistake to leave your car at Xpress auto. They are either totally incompetent or high class con-artists. Either way you get screwed out of your hard-earned money. Cut to the chase, I had to bring in my 99 Toyota Tacoma (one of the most reliable engines still on the road) for a trembling feeling and loss of power, because it was the closest shop to my work and AAA recommended it. They charge a $90 fee for a diagnostic which they apply to any repairs which is really steep obviously and sinks your costs so you feel trapped into getting your work done there. But their diagnosis was ridiculous. They said they needed to do a couple tests. They found a misfire in the 4th cylinder and recommended that I replace the engine. (??!!). They tried to say that because of the mileage that I should just trash the engine and put in a new one. Every person I spoke to about this was as flabbergasted by this reckless conclusion as I was. They of course had a impossibly great deal (like 3.7k) on a new engine that "might not last". I got my baby out of there faster than a knife fight in a phone booth. I brought it over to another place near my home who gave a free diagnosis in 10 minutes, replaced the spark plugs and ignition wire and fixed every problem in less than an hour for $180. They told me that Xpress didn't even perform one of the tests they said they did. Runs fine now a month later. Get your car out of Xpress Auto right away. read more

If I could choose no stars to post my experience I would... In 2012 I was referred to Hannah by a trusted source. I had my car worked on and although the price went from $1200.00 to just under $5,000.00, I understood that one problem can reveal the problem of another. However, when Hannah said all work was complete, it was nothing less than more trips back to the shop if I wanted their mistakes corrected: 1. I was never told that a bolt striped in my head and a helicoil was put in. As a result; When my wife was driving there was a loud clank in the engine and a rod for the valve came loose in the engine. (Hannah recently told me screws are just as good. ???). 2. I returned to the shop a number of times because my cruise control light went on and off, and it wouldn't work. a. My dash board oil light would say it's low when the dip stick read full. b. My check engine light wouldn't shut off. 3. My vent air hoses weren't hook up properly because little air came out and my radio got hot. Hannah sounds like a nice guy, and may give rides to women, (very thoughtful). But you know a tree by it's fruit and the character of a man by his work not his words... I couldn't afford to keep bringing my car back to the shop when I have to work and care for my family. Yes I was present and all I have to say is your customer service was unacceptable, as was your your dishonesty. If you do not want to be brushed off and lied to then I do not recommend this auto shop. All they do is TRY to make themselves look good while screwing their customers over. My family of 4 with 5 cars comes here all the time. My old PT Cruiser had a lot of problems, so I was constantly in the shop. I've never been treated better by any mechanic. My sister moved away and tried other mechanics, but they were so shady that she waits until she's in town to get anything done on her car.
