I posted a 5-star review back in 2015 when my Subaru died a long way from home. Well, the car broke down again recently, and as our AAA membership package includes something like 100 miles of flatbed towing, I opted to have the car brought all the way to Xpress Auto again. Yes, they're an hour and a half away, but they earned my trust on the previous repair. The car was in the shop for about two weeks because they were waiting for some parts, but they provided a loaner car so aside from the traveling I wasn't any worse for wear. Before the breakdown I had visited a Subaru dealer to get an estimate on a few problems, including gas fumes that would come and go. The estimate to fix that and the other problems was in the thousands. So when the car was at Xpress, I had him do all of the same work -- at 1/3 of the price. read more

Leave no doubt Hanna and his team at Xpress Auito Service are the best mechanic doctors on the planet. I have been taking my vehicle to this shop for years now after doing the Sears and Pepboys thing when I got to the point the problem could not be diagnosed I was done. The tow truck driver recommended Xpress to me because that is where he took his vehicle...my thought as a women if the tow truck driver takes his car there then he must be good at what he does and want to see if that could be possible it was, absolutely. The team is knowledgeable, patient, honesty and fair in a reasonable way which is hard to come by I experience in the automotive industry. The best Xpress team ever take your car no where else, you will be like Wow...where have you been all my life. I rarely write reviews but this business is so outstanding I must. My girlfriend's van broke down mid-afternoon and we were towed to Xpress arriving just before 4pm. Amazingly, Hanna (the owner) and his men were able to diagnose, get the parts, and repair our van by 6pm. Tony who I believe is a manager and technician exemplified pure integrity. This is rare these days. Terry also worked on the van and along with everyone else was both very friendly and professional. The crew made us very comfortable and you felt like you could hang out and talk with them. They worked together like a family and they joked around just the right amount. I would trust these guys with my kid. Highly recommended and completely trustworthy! read more

I had the worst experience at this location. My car broke down on Thanksgiving and I called AAA to get it towed to the dealership, but the tow truck guy convinced me to take it here.....BIG MISTAKE! They told me I needed a new battery, new alternator and had 3 broken motor mounts. I went to pick my car up at their shop 4 days later and paid a nice hefty $1600. As I was ready to leave the shop, I turned my car on I didn't like the way it started. So I turned it off to get the owner or the mechanic, Jose, who worked on my car. When I had Jose come back to my car it would not start. I was like, "Are you serious? I just paid you guys all this money, you've had my car for 4 days and it won't start. He had the nerve to tell me, " it sounds like your starter". After several attempts my car started and I just got the hell out of this place. I had a friend recommend me a shop they've been going to for years. It turned out it was my starter, they said the starter was not original to the car, which I found strange because never changed my starter before. I was also told that the motor mounts sold to me were off the market, and not installed correctly. The off the market parts were sold to me at three times the amount they really cost. This was a nightmare experience and would never trust or recommend this place to anyone. RUN! RUN! RUN! read more

Last week my car died in a parking lot! AAA showed up but said it had to be towed. They recommended this place. I didn't know the area and was worried. But I had few other options so I agreed. Hanna made me feel right at home immediately. Since they were pretty busy he offered to get me an uber or rental. He called the rental place and took care of everything. From there Jose took over. My engine was in bad shape and Jose called me with updates everyday. We explored options and I agreed to a certain amout of work. Jose was so knowledgeable and clear on everything. He took so much time explaining the issues and what I need to do in the future to avoid them. I've never had a mechanic take so much time and actually care about their work!! I was referred to this shop by AAA, I'm a 25 year member. I took my Mercedes to have U-joint work done. While I am sure Hanna is a nice person, and does good work, I have three issues: (1) Parts which should have been available were supposedly ordered and took 3 weeks to get and install. I did not rush them but was not kept informed. (2) Promised calls to update me were never made. I had to repeatedly call to find details. (3) And most important is the poor-quality of the invoicing that NEVER SHOWED THE ACTUAL SUB-TOTAL before listing the AAA discount and removal of the diagnostic charge. Consumers know that when pricing is not fixed (subjective) discounts get masked into the actual estimate, so they are not really discounting anything. I am not saying Hanna does this but it raises questions. If a business wants to be clear, everything is itemized; a sub-total is shown, and then the discount and FINAL TOTAL should be shown. FINALLY: When I heard the actual Sub Total, which never appeared on the invoice, and was never ever spoken before, I calmly and respectfully asked HANNA why I was hearing the number for the first time. He reacted as if I were questioning his manhood or disrespecting him. It was amazing to see. I thought I was simply asking him man-to-man but he seemed to think I should have simply nodded yes, bowed, said thank you, and not question any of his procedures. I don't think so. That's not the way I do business, and I do not expect it from others. I will never return. But I will make sure I blog about it, and I have just spoken to AAA. read more

I will pile right on with the other bad reviews. My battery died, and the tow truck driver recommended them. Based on the $207 I had to pay for a basic AC Delco battery, I'm thinking there was a kick back. Manager Hanna (male) told me he could have my battery at his place in 30 to 45 minutes for installation... it took well over two hours for it to arrive. I needed to be back to work, not sitting. Xpress - not. I was there over 4 hours. Back of invoice states that the only way any warranty will be honored will be at the location of purchase, and only if the same owner holds that franchise when you go back. Go to your dealership or Firestone for service, not here. My car was dead, and there was no dealership in Industry, so I was screwed. They over promised and under delivered... at a high price. read more

AVOID XPRESS AUTO SERVICE!!! TOTAL RIP OFF!!! I went to Hanna at the referral from a Bob's towing driver. He picked me up and I asked to be towed to the dealer. The driver said he could take me to this real good mechanic not too far away. I called Hanna and he said he was closing but would wait for me. The tow truck river waited there more than 20 minutes for Hanna to get back from a test drive. I thought this was strange until I saw one of the employees give the driver some cash for taking me there.They did not noticed that I had seen them. Hanna stated he needs to do a diagnostic for $80 when the sign on the window clearly states $50. He said since it was a Hybrid it costs more which is BS according to other shops. He calls me the next day saying that it will cost $1030 to fix, $750 for the computer and $280 for labor and programming. I called the dealer to get a price on the part and they quote me $550 and said if a shop buys it it would be 20% less. I called Hanna and asked him why he is charging so much for the part and he said because they make 20% on parts, then I told him that the part is only about $420 wholesale and he is making about 60% of the part. Of course he said the delear was full of it. I told him not to do anything to my car and I would have it towed to the dealer. When I got there he said that the dealer was going to screw me and add all sorts of stuff to the bill. I took it to the dealer and it ended up only needing and update to the computer. I paid $100 and was done with it. NEVER GO TO HANNA. HE IS A RIP OFF! read more

Had my car towed here after the AAA tow truck guy referred me to this place because my car wouldent start up. they charged me 100 for diagnostic and said my whole wiring harness has gone wrong and to fix it it would cost 500+ and he wasn't even sure about the price and said it might have even more problems all in all I took my car to a friends of mine who works for mazda and he said one of the plugs for the wiring harness was loose and not making the right connection to the fuel injectors! It's hard to find a good, honest mechanic. After "firing' my mechanic of 17 years I went to Xpress auto with my 1978 Fiat Spyder. Hanna did such a great job we now take all five of our family cars to him. How about the bad reviews? All I know is the shop is ALWAYS busy and in speaking to the customers, they all seem happy. I took my BMW to this shop at the advice of our AAA tow truck driver. I was extremely impressed with how nice they were and how good of a job they did. All I had was a drained battery and they never tried to up-sell me or anything, even though my car could have used other repairs. They are very good people, I was quite impressed. Yesterday I was reminded how BLESSED I am to have known these guys, Hannah (the owner), Jose, Terry and the rest of the crew, for caring for my vehicle over the course of time. My late husband and I "found" this shop through the AAA, over 10 years ago, and over this time we have found these individuals to be upfront, willing to show you parts of your car that are messed up, honest....a bit pricey...yes, (for parts that they have to buy via 3rd party) and we forget that any business has to pay for overhead .....you pay for the QUALITY of the individuals that have been CERTIFIED ...think levels and types of doctors, these guys get certified for their level of expertise, and this owner pays his crew accordingly. I love the fact that these guys are WILLING to show you, on the spot, in real time, online price comparisons, if you have doubts ....you realize that when they quote a price they also, like any other GOOD business, have to cover their base cost and make a profit, and "you get what you pay for". Have I ever had to take my car back after a repair, only once or twice that I can think of, and how did they respond.....WONDERFULLY....like the professionals they are, I was not ever made to feel like the problem was mine.. ..not only would they fix the problem on the spot, sometimes they would go beyond what was expected. After 10 years or so of knowing these guys, I drive well over 30 miles just to get an oil change because I wouldn't let ANY OTHER SHOP TOUCH MY CAR, ....I love the fact that the owner is so passionate about caring for his workers, and my car! I witnessed, first hand yesterday, a customer who brought a friend, the friend thought Xpress was price gouging .....whoa, did things get LOUD, but I was impressed with how Hannah was able to explain the pricing situation....now I was there for a few hours, and eventually the customer came back and acknowledged that the pricing was spot on. I told the owner that his reputation will proceed him. This shop has NEVER had a BBB violation, or a complaint, you can look that up! I am saddened to see bad remarks here, because I know these guys, they are true gentlemen. WARNING..... There is a situation now that has arisen within the Yelp community....where ppl are actually being pursued for FALSE (negative) postings...a form of blackmail, so, keep that in mind when you are shopping any business. they are trying to rip off anyone who walks in there.i am a 24 year old girl and i don't know anything about cars.well this past friday i had a overheating problem so my dad came to check it out.well turns out i had a rusted broken thermostat housing piece where the hose connects that had broke so we went to auto zone and bought a new one for 13.99. not much i was happy that's all i had to spend.well my dad replaced it where i was broken down at and i started to drive home.then it overheated again.so then i call aaa and try to get my car towed to a mechanic .they refer me to this horrible place and they do this little liquid test that i have had done before for free..... ok radiator shops have done it for free this place was telling me i owe them 79.00 for putting a little pump with liquid in it and placed it in the overflow reservoir it took 2 min .they said if it turns colors then i have an internal problem and its most likely the head gasket. it slightly changed colors and they said i had a broken head gasket gave me the price of 4200.00 my dad went off on them for trying to charge 80.oo for that test because he knows more than i do but if my dad wasn't there they would of been able to take my money from me that was not even necessary.they knew my dad caught them with there bull and they said i had no fee after all. and my dad was going to look at it himself again so we had it towed back to my house.it turns out my thermostat needed to be replaced that cost me 14.99 also very cheap all it cost to fix my problem was less then 30.00 i hope they get shut down seriously and i cant believe that aaa would even recommend me to this place with all these bad reviews i'm very disappointed with all the hastle and me even having to waist my tow to bring it to this place and i had to use another tow to take it from there, were there is nothing but lieing thieves read more

I had my brakes done on April 2nd and 5 days later my brakes were slipping so I went back to Xpress Auto and spoke to Jose and Hannah well they came and said so sorry but we put on defected brake pads on May 12th I went back again and told Jose and Hannah something don't seem right still with my brakes this time they didn't even put the car up they just test drive it and gave me the keys back well on July 13th I was driving down Valley with my 3 month old granddaughter and the brakes went out and the car started smoke we both could have die if my car didn't stop on it's on I got three different inspection and they told me my car was contaminated and to take it back to the shop that worked on my car which was Xpress Auto at 14834 Valley Blvd they refuse to fix the damages that they cost on my car and not to mention putting my 3 month old grand daughter and myself in dangerous situation that could have been fatal my son would have lost his baby and my children would have lost their mother and my grand children would have lost their grand mother I felt this was done intentionally to get more money .
