I'm giving this store one star due to a frustrating experience. This is actually the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a negative review, but I want to share what happened so others can avoid a similar situation. I bought what I thought were indoor soccer shoes for my five-year-old son, but accidentally ended up with turf shoes. He wore them to practice and slipped because they weren't the right type, and they were extremely tight on his feet. We physically went back to the store to show them the shoes and explain the situation. The staff member there was polite and tried to help, but the manager and owner were not present. They made the decision over the phone not to allow any return or exchange, without much consideration or asking for more details. To be clear, I even ended up buying the correct indoor shoes in a size that was two sizes up from the original pair, which is further proof that the first pair was way too tight. I was ready to do business with them again and just needed a fair resolution, but the refusal over the phone felt dismissive. It's not about the money for me; it's about being treated justly as a customer. I hope they improve their customer service in the future. read more

We found this place when the other store we went to turned out to be only open on weekends. The staff was friendly, my son found the Mexico jersey he wanted, and we found a pair of socks in the clearance bin. They had the cleats he bought at a major chain, for about the same price. We came in looking for a specific style of cleat, anything AG as my daughter had 4 games over the weekend and would be in turf and hit. It was Friday when she decided to tell me she had a hole in her cleats. I was worried we were not going to be able to find cleats for the weekend, but this place had such a selection! I'll be coming back looking for other other items soon, they seem to have plenty of gear. The young man working in the store was very patient and helpful. Thanks for the cleats! I was given great customer service by the young ladies when I went in. Unfortunately my cleat's stud broke off after 2 games. It was one thing that the Predator 19.1's ended up being defective but it was even worse that they couldn't give me store credit/refund. Shouldn't matter that they were on sale, I still paid $145+. ***BEWARE*** The management HERE does NOT care about having REPEAT CUSTOMERS. I placed some items on hold and came to pick them up the following day. The prices on the wall read one price and then when I was rung up they were a whole different price. I didn't notice until I walked out the store. A different employee than the one that helped me didn't care what the price said on the product, he only said management told him "prices went up everywhere and so did this." This guy acted like he owned the place when he told me. Little does he know he will be replaced soon by someone else. He knew what he was saying and doing was wrong but he wanted to show off...it's cool, I won't be recommending this place any time soon. I'll recommend everyone I know and the soccer coaches I meet to avoid this place at all cost. Needed astroturf boots ... aka 'soccer cleats', but the ones made specifically for turf!!... and was looking for the England 2020 shirt (aka 'jersey'). Went to a few 'soccer stores' in the area trying to find a decent pair to try on (including Dicks Sporting Goods at Cerritos Mall) .... without any luck. Just total lack of options available. Couldn't get two other shops on the phone - one number was disconnected number (phone number listed on their yelp) and the other went to voicemail. These guys answered their phone!!! FIRST TIME!! The dude who answered was super helpful... he confirmed they had plenty of options of the boots in my size ANDDD he checked/held the England shirt for me. Really decent selection in the store, decent pricing.... + helpful staff. Earned $140+ of business. Will likely be back too. read more

Been coming here for a few years, they always have what I need. Staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. Only local place I know that carries coolant for injuries, this coolant instantly relieves aches on the fly on the field. Quick story: Many people assume that businesses are better in Los Alamitos Vs. Hawaiian Gardens. I keep finding this to be so untrue every time I shop between both places. HG has some great stores!!! Yesterday I went to Play it Again Sports in Los Alamitos and was disappointed by the lack of customer service and very little selection for kids soccer gear when I came in prepared to purchase items for both my children playing AYSO in the fall. We have gotten things from PIAS in the past with helpful and knowledgeable staff, but yesterday was a huge disappointment. Maybe they are under new management? I was told they would not have Soccer items or any deals until "October " "When soccer season starts" he said! I told him Soccer is now a year around sport and Fall Soccer is beginning in August. He seemed unaware and did not seem to care. We drove over to Soccer Central in Hawaiian Gardens and the store is beautiful !!! They had knowledgeable staff and I got got deals that exceeded what Play it Again Soccer offers and they were ALL new items. If you are looking for any type of soccer gear there is no better store than Soccer Central. They have three shops but I have only been to their location in Hawaiian Gardens. Yes I know it is not the best neighborhood but it is well worth stopping in. The service is always top notch and all of the people who work there play or played soccer so they know how to fit cleats. I stopped in today because I wanted some turf shoes for the fall soccer season. I coach our U5 program in Los Alamitos and it sucks to slip in front of 70 four year olds because they will laugh at you. They did not have my size in the cleats I wanted but they right away called their Torrance location and they had them in stock. I expect to have them in a couple of days. I will add that they will usually give you a discount if you tell them you are an AYSO soccer coach. read more
