What a hidden gem! I have been wanting to try this place for a little bit so my mom & I finally came here for brunch to give them a try. I ordered the chicken panini & my mom got the sausage burrito. I had decided on the biscuits & gravy but then saw the chicken panini with the green apple slices, arugula & cheese & could not turn that down! It was amazing & came with a spring mix salad with a really tasty dressing. My mom loved her breakfast burrito & ended up taking half home bc it was HUGE! Visited this cute little shop just to try the mini Conchas and an iced coffee to go. At first impressions, I felt welcomed. They had a cute, cozy couch with Concha Pillows and several clean tables to sit at. Barista worker assisted me with respect and a kind smile. They weren't able to serve espresso this morning, so I just ordered 6 mini Conchas to go, but then the kind barista suggested if I cared for any other types of beverage and suggested matcha among others. They made it a little brighter and a little more sparse which tends to make it an upbeat place. Good coffee, and they know what a traditional macchiato is. I was actually scrolling through Door Dash when I saw this place, but since I was headed down Elk Grove Blvd anyway I decided to visit in person. First of all, the decor and the vibe is 10/10. Super cute (just as cute as in the pictures!). Second, I didn't try the pastries but I'm now regretting that because they looked INSANELY good! I got a cajeta latte and the avocado toast. (I had to ask what cajeta was too, so if you don't know, you're not alone - it's like a caramelized milk.) The latte was awesome! Not too sweet; just the right amount of sweetness to balance what would normally be the bitterness of espresso. The avocado toast also 10/10. I wasn't sure if I would like the sprouts or chiles but I definitely did! The chiles do have a nice kick, so leave them be if you aren't into that sort of thing. The only thing that wasn't total perfection were the potatoes. Don't get me wrong - I ate them and I liked them, but they were ever so slightly underdone. Def not a deal breaker. The food is aight. The coffee is aight. The service is pretty dang bad. Placed a takeout order in person. Was told 15 minute wait, which was all good. After 30 we ask for an update, are simply told it'll be another 10. At the time, it was really slow. The counter person was a smidge rude about it. They have the cutest little numbers for your inside orders, and the decorations are all Tex-Mex. There was a line, but of course there was! They took care of it quickly, even though they seemed to only have like 5 employees working. Their concha's are so cute! They have mini's and some of them are shaped like turtles. And I did take my time eating my chorizo burrito hoping to wash it down with the latte instead I drank water. The burrito had lots of over cooked burnt potatoes and dry eggs.
