Passed by this place and had to give it a try. There were already two parties there, and then had to wait a bit once getting up to the window before my order was taken. Between the time I ordered and receiving my churritos was only 5-10 minutes. There were actually more churritos than I was expected - 10 for $4. There are different toppings (sauces) you can get with them; I got chocolate, and it comes on the side for you to dip your churros in. These were some tasty churros; exactly what I expected based on my passed churro-eating experiences in San Diego (where there are arguably VERY good churros). My only wish was that they were hotter (they were warmer but on the cooler side). Would come back again if passing by! read more

Came for the churros, left because there's no indoor dining. We ordered the churro ice cream sandwich which was doughy and melted by the time we walked to our car. Utensils were not provided so we had to ask for them. We would give it a 3/5. The horchata on the other hand was delicious. I really enjoyed it, it was a lot for 4$. Overall I would not drive out of my way to come back here. If I did, I would just get the horchata or plain churro. read more

Hot churros cooked to order? Amazing. They also sell the churros by the dozen and you can mix and match flavors (plain or stuffed with strawberry, chocolate or cream cheese filling). All delicious! There is a "flavor of the day" written on the wall and their flavor dispenser is labeled with question marks. For those who are into fruity flavors, "pineapple" churros are available on Sundays. If you're feeding an army with these delicious, addicting churros, I recommend that you cut each of them in half since their churros are long and thick, approximately 8.4 ft. X 1ft. By the way, the churros can be re-heated for a few seconds in a microwave. With a cup of Americano, you'll be all set! And I would find that there is a Xocoatl in Logan Square. Funnel cake. Churros. I had the funnel cake and since I hadn't had one since 1986 -- don't laugh -- it was pure heaven. I returned a few days later and ordered churros filled with chocolate. I was expecting cinnamon sticks the thickness of my finger. What a surprise to find that the churros at Xocoatl are substantial. Their churros are freshly fried and you can pick a filling (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cream cheese, flavor of the day). There's also the option of getting them topped with ice cream! Located on Armitage in Logan Square, a small cute lil churro / coffee / Mexican dessert shop. Churros taste fresh and delicious. A lot of people think churros just come plain but I always grew up eating the churros with filling so I was so exited that this place makes churros with filling. I ordered chocolate, strawberry, and cream cheese icing filled churros and they were all so yummy. Perfect small dessert after the big meal we had eaten. I didn't try anything else that night but I seen that they sell coffee and azteca tea, and ice cream & mangonadas . Next time I'm in town I'll be back to try that stuff. Next time I'll have it with cream cheese, yum. I got a churro sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate syrup. The churro was so nice and soft in the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside with a nice dose of cinnamon sugar! For those who aren't to familiar with Churros, it's a Fried pastry that can be filled with a variety of creams and other tasty things. This place will fry it to order! Most places just have Churros that where previously fried and filled earlier that day or days before. So they freshly fry the churro and then fill it with your choice of filling. They have about 5 fillings to choose from and a daily rotation filling. This almost feels to good to be true. Then you pay while waiting for the order to be completed, wait not expensive?To good to be true right? Wrong it tastes wonderful!!! In case you are wondering I have been back many times. I always get a Churro, but I have tried other things. I have been over zealous as well. You don't need to order the Funnel cake with ice cream and still a Churro on the side, it might be too much haha. Horrible customer service. I ordered a dozen churros -- 10 strawberries, 1 vanilla, and 1 chocolate. I drove 40 mins -- to and back from my house and when I finally checked my box I had gotten 2 strawberries and the rest were chocolate and vanilla. I called to let them know I had received the wrong order even though the box with my name on it was clearly labeled with my order. They wanted me to drive all the way back to give me my right order and tried to argue with me and blame me for it. While I love their churros, their customer service is horrible. read more

Simple and tasty churro based desserts and ice cream. I stopped in here for dessert with a few friends - the funnel cake with ice cream was what called us in. I was a bit too full for that but I did get to try a bite of my friends - it was as tasty as it looked. The funnel cake with ice cream runs about $8-9. I decided to get the churro smore. A simple concept with great execution - it was tasty and a little more affordable at ~$4-5. The funnel cake and churro were warm and fresh made. They seem to have a decent selection of ice creams and smoothies. Service was fast and friendly. One slightly awkward thing - the garbage is small and was basically full when we walked in. By the time we were done it already had a couple of items stacked on it over the top. I let them know and they were nice enough to tell us to just go ahead and leave our stuff on the table until they could change the garbage, but the took a couple of items out of the garbage and set them on the counter top as they were changing it. I'll give 5 stars to the churros. They are freshly made as you order. So, you have to wait about 5min. You won't regret the wait or the price because they are just amazing! This place is small, with a lot of options to choose from. I was a bit disappointed that they offered 3 or 4 different kinds of hot chocolate which is made from "chocolate Abuelita" and they did not have any to make. I was really thinking a churro with hot chocolate would be so good but they had no hot chocolate. As a business if you offer something as easy to make as hot chocolate you have to provide it. Damn, you can send someone to the nearest store and get it. I noticed there were two big food markets with in minutes from this place. So that gave me the impression that they don't care. I will come again just for the churros and with the hope they have chocolate abuelita. The place has tables and chairs to sit but does not have a garbage can. What's with that? I like to clean after my self so eather you leave the garbage on the table or take it with you. I don't like eather. The young girl did not smile at all.
