I'm not quite sure how anyone could give anything but 5 stars for this great little shop that has been around for decades! We had dinner last Friday at the amazing Dresden Room (and yes, I'm old school and prefer calling it by its original name) and walked mere steps from its front door when we were hailed into Y Que for a free comedy show. The store itself is amazing. Full of kitschy t-shirts, used vinyl for sale and other amazing things. The owner himself is friendly, gracious and welcoming. And the free comedy was amazing! I love finding hidden gems like this in our great city and we were so lucky to have just walked into Y Que on one of these amazing comedy nights! These came in both unisex (read: male) cuts and baby tees (read: children's + crop tops). I've been shopping here since 1993 and it lives in my heart. I love the store so much that I enjoy helping it out whenever I can. You'll find me there, lurking and folding shirts, giving love advice and helping you pick out sunglasses. The owner since 1997, Billy, is somewhat of a genius in my opinion and his tshirt designs are awesome and fun. There are also fantastic T-shirt designs from local artist. I have all of them. I had to buy another dresser to fit all my T-shirts from over the years. Ted, the terrific guy who does all the screen printing by hand is a gem. This place is magic, slightly creepy (in a good way), very nostalgic and I'm pretty sure there's a T-shirt style for just about anyone on the planet and probably a few for anyone from other planets. After visiting this unique shop several times, I finally bought a shirt and hat. The designs are fantastic (HaFo SaFo Forever), so much so that I was considering buying shirts for LA neighborhoods I've never even been to. Mustard yellow Mount Washington shirt? *chef kiss* On top of all this, I learned that the owner rescued the actual Sunset foot clinic sign - it's on display in the store. However my favorite thing to do, and trust me babe, I get very meticulous about this, is the $5.00 t-shirt bin located at the front of the store! There are the t shirts which are wrongly sized, misprinted or even just not up to par for the racks! Over the years I have bought many and have supplied friends closets with tees from "the bin"! That would be perfect for YQUE- Reading some of these Yelp reviews, I see that it is a physical store too (vs just online) I thought for sure this thing was run out of some loser's apartment- Here are the details- I ordered a shirt online. Got an email the second day saying it shipped. I waited a day or two past the 4-6 business days they quoted (how long does it take mail to get form So Cal to Sacramento?). I emailed, called, nada.. Worse, instead of getting a voicemail announcing the name of the store, store hours, etc., I just get the generic robot lady saying the person is unavailable... Finally, ten days later, I get another email saying that my order shipped... Its the same one I got before... Do I wait another 4-6 days before disputing the charge? This guy sucks giant donkey balls. I wish I would have ready his shitty reviews before ordering. Shame on me. Suck it, YQUE! I've reported this info on a few websites now- I can't wait until the search-bots find those reviews so they can show up on the front page of your google search results! read more

I will never shop at this store because of how they conduct their shipping/mailorder business. This may sound petty but hear me out. On more than one occasion, I've been stuck in line at our local, overworked Los Feliz post office behind someone from Y-Que. You'll recognize them by the huge wheeled postal cart full of hundreds of packages. Late in the day (which is when they arrive) the lines at the post office tend to get heavy so one person mailing tons of labor intensive packages (delivery confirmation, international shipments etc) REALLY slows things down. I even once asked the guy doing the shipping why Y-Que doesn't do their shipping from the store itself and he gave me some ridiculous excuse about how they'd have to hire another person (?). Uh guy, in the time it took you to wait in the PO line and then deal with a postal clerk, you could have done it yourself in much less time and without aggravating the rest of the customers. I know people who only sell the occasional book or CD on eBay who have their own postal scales and machines in their homes. You run a store that deals HEAVILY with mailorder and still use the post office like you're a regular customer mailing a birthday card? The people at Y-Que have decided that the people of this neighborhood should wait even longer in the post office line so some guy in Iowa can get his pink 'Free Paris Hilton" shirt. No thanks Y-Que. I will not be shopping in your store any time soon. read more

If you wanna find a unique t-shirt, this is your place. Y Que prints their own designs, so you're liable to find plenty of things you've never seen and won't see elsewhere; the selection changes regularly, too, and they're well-known for quickly making shirts of the latest arrested celebrity. My favorite shirts are probably the LA neighborhood ones: various sections of the city with different symbols. And not just tourist-type shirts you'd bring back home to your family members in Montana, you ain't gonna find no Marilyn Monroe Hollywood shirt here. However, you can find a West Hollywood shirt with a pink banana, a Van Nuys shirt with a silhouetted stripper + pole, a unicorn-emblazoned shirt for The Valley, a Downtown shopping cart shirt, various ethnic enclaves, etc. I love them. Also, for any shirt, say you can't find your size or it's only on blue and you really hate blue. No prob. Talk to the folks at the counter and they'll print you one on the color/size you want in about a week, no extra charge. Try getting that anywhere else! While I see the shirts as the big draw, Y Que also has various tchotchkes, used books, even some used vinyl. Cool place to pick up a gift for someone...or when you need some new shirts for yourself. Penis Pasta? Penis Pasta! Need I say more? Well, in all honesty I actually had to down-grade my original review due to the fact that this store is not fully a five-star establishment.. But: I'll point out the great parts of the store: 1. Their t-shirts are always good for a good laugh. 2. The gizmos and toys are PERFECT if you need to get a joke present for a friend. 3. They are (sometimes) open until 4 am, which is awesome. Many times have I driven past Y-Que late 'n' bored and strolled on in for a bit of late-night entertainment. 4. You can get anti-Bush items and also anti-Democrat items, too. Finally, an establishment thats not beating a political drum and that is there to solely "make some dough". 5. And Stephy S. I love Y-Que second only to Wacko which is my heaven. Where else can you find a lobster belt buckle, ruffle butt shorts, cucumber incense, candy cigarettes and bunny boy art? At one time this nifty place carried some of my wares and was one of the few places to carry bags by Gorilla Sue. I never know when it is open but when they are I don't leave empty handed.
