She asked me if I've ever done hot yoga before, I mentioned a few studios and she mentioned she's from Harlem and I was sharing my recent visit there and she recommended a few places to eat and drink. She is an aerial list and performs in Germany. one woman shared how she is from Germany and Angela offered to get her tickets to the show she performs in. she would walk through the class giving adjustments and making sure everyone is in the proper position and breathing correctly The studio is nice. They have showers and towels. I don't know if I saw any large shower towels so be prepared. You can also rent a sweat towel and a towel to put on your mat as well as a mat..for your first class you get towels and a mat for free, but after that you have to pay. I'm not sure how much it is. They seem to really want to build a community. I saw a board with the monthly challenge. There's also free weights not sure how those are used in class. My class was a lot of slow positions and holding them. Also at the end everyone gets a cold eucalyptus towel by their mat. I saw a locker room there's tampons, Q-tips and there are hair ties.

I have had several great experiences at Lyons Den power yoga in Chelsea. The first time I had a…read morehard time locating it but once you get over that, it's totally fine. The space is straightforward. The lobby is a little bit tight if the classes packed, but generally speaking everything that you need is here and the facility is extremely clean. They have lockers that have a lock included for personal belongings. Lyons Den has been around for such a long time (longer than most studios), so I do tend to trust their teachers a lot more in the heat, and they all seem to have a really strong Teacher training background. I also received some decent hands on assists here. I do look forward to the next time I get to come here, thank you so much!

She keeps a watchful eye on everyone and calls people out in a good way ("Rachel, lean forward", "three of you stop looking at your watch"). I have come to this studio two other times and while the sequence is consistent, the experience varies based on the instructor's energy and the music they choose. Sarah is great too. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Mats and blocks are cleaned after each use. It's expensive. A drop-in class was $35 and included towels a month ago when I last visited NYC, and now it's $38 plus $5.50 towel rental fee.

Angelica…read morebrought such welcoming and warm energy and she was fantastic at honing in on each pose, making corrections and adjustments to ensure we got the most out of each movement. One thing to note is that Y7 is not your traditional yoga class. The classes are broken down to three vinyasa sequences, each repeated three times. The first time, the instructor will slowly breakdown each pose. The second time, you will repeat the sequence but it'll be sped up to link one breath to one movement. The third time, you can free flow. I'm not the biggest fan of this structure but it's nice to switch it up every once in a while. The studio itself is not much to write home about. They have mats and towels for rent and some lockers to store your belongings. They have limited showers and restrooms so if you need a shower after class, it can be bit of a wait. Otherwise, it's a small and straightforward set up: come in, take the class, and leave. Give it a try!

The yoga class was great I absolutely loved the soul flow and the pink Himalayan rocks made me warm naturally and definitely felt amazing after my class. I came for a Sculpt class. Clean facilities located right on the 3rd + 4th floors. It's a narrow…read morestairway to get up. The front desk, lockers, and showers are on the 3rd floor, where they provide you with a bath towel if needed. There are only 3 showers and 2 bathrooms, so expect to wait. The showers and locker area are co-ed, so be sure to change in the shower room before coming out. There's an open vanity area by the lockers to get ready afterwards. The studio is upstairs, where phones aren't allowed, since it's a heated room. Thankfully, the room isn't as hot as some other heated studios I've been to. Mat + towel combo for rental is $9, but the fee is waived if it's your first class. Before you enter the heated room, you're instructed to take a set of 3lb weights, a resistance band, and ankle weights. Depending on the class, you'll also take a yoga block. Their Sculpt class has a short stretch portion for cool down and no cardio (like CorePower). Only downside I'd say is that there are no mirrors to check your form and they turn off the lights in the class, but that's their brand. Overall, I had a good sweat + would return for another heated sculpt class!

Update: I found an email from 2 years ago that confirmed my subscription. In very small print is a…read morelink that says 'Manage your account'. I clicked on that link and was taken to a dedicated account page where I was able to cancel my subscription. But you should be able to access your account from the main online subscription page. That you are not able to is deliberate. That no one responded to my emails or helped me navigate to cancelling my subscription is also deliberate. This is a deceptive scheme--SCAM--to continue to take money from people for as long as they can. If I had not found that email buried in my inbox I would still be trying to get them to help me.
