Stopped by this cool hot dog stand while I was in the area. The employees were super friendly and welcoming. I ordered their daily special a Philly Steak Cheese Dog. Cute little hot dog stand with very nice employees. They have a great name and good energy, we just didn't care much for the food. I'm willing to concede that it might have been the fact that I got the tofurkey dog, but I took one bite and just couldn't eat any more of mine. The dog was terrible and the "crunchy" onions were stale and limp. I tried feeding some of the "meat" to our puppy, but she wasn't having it either. One of the best hot dogs we've ever had. We were visiting Harmony Cellars for an afternoon of wine tasting and they had a food truck for their summer evening event. This hot dog was so delicious. Yay, finally some food on campus that is not very healthy!! They do offer relatively healthy options, though, such as no bun or vegan dog. They are set up in a food truck outside the Campus Market. I love the all beef hotdog, I got the Basic Betty with ketchup. They have sodas and water to drink, although the soda wasn't very cold. I liked that they have a variety of chips, including Lay's Sour Cream & Onion, which are next to impossible to find on campus. Their bun is not the typical hotdog bun, but rather a thick piece of toasted bread with a slice down the center. They offer different sizes of hotdogs, a vegan dog, and sausages with lots of interesting toppings, too. They are open M-Th from 11:00 to 2:00. I suspect this will be my go-to lunch spot. read more

This is basically a mobile hot dog stand. You had to search to find them. It's "to go" -- you order and take to your car. They used to be in several different places in Paso on different days. Now, I think that they only do their set up at or around Cal Poly. read more

Well truth be told, it's a rare thing that I would stop at a street vendor for a hot dog. I came up to Yabba Dabba and gave it a try, because my friend works down the street, recommended it, and also said come on up I'll buy you a dog. I guess it was his turn, as I pick the tab at the steak dinner last week. But put that aside, what a nice little street vendor. To pop ups, a hot dog cart, picnic tables under one of the pop ups, a wide selection of mustards, all the little toppings you could want in nice little covered trays. I mean that includes tomatoes, onions, pickles, pepperoncini, bacon bits, I don't know I can't remember them all. Anyway the menu has all kinds of dogs including bratwurst and others. The reason I remembered bratwurst is that what I ordered oh, it was called a Fred. I'm sure that's after Fred Flintstone. Anyway that some tortilla chips and the water was lunch. He takes his time steaming the bun making everything just right and it was just right. For a guy who doesn't frequent hot dog stands, this is prepared beautifully enough that I want to come back. Wow! Listen to me coming back to hot dog stand, which is definitely out of character for me. Anyway if you get a chance give it a stop.
