We love the Yagi in PVD at Track 15 so went to check out the bigger menu in Newport. We tried one of the sparkling matcha drinks and also the cold noodles. If you like a pasta salad with lots of fresh veggies, this new to the menu dish is totally for you! Great for a hot night on the patio. It was delicious.

It was a cold, wintry night and my wind battered soul needed a thaw. Looking for comfort, the deep red, steaming pot of spicy miso ramen flashed across my phone. This was what ramen was made for. I walked in feeling (and looking) like Jack Frost. Only the brave were venturing about, so the restaurant was minimally packed and we were seated immediately. Szechuan cauliflower? Yes please. I would come back here for that cauliflower alone and order three servings of it. It was perfectly crispy and smothered in spicy sauce. The miso ramen broth was flavorful and spicy. Just what I was looking for. They used brown rice noodles which had a consistency that I would describe as slightly clumpy and with a different taste than traditional noodles. The rest of the toppings were as expected. The interior was very well decorated and felt upscale. It was a nice experience dining here.

Friday night visit just before the "snowstorm of the decade," and this place still had a pretty good crowd. Service was great from start to finish. The focus here is ramen, with a small lineup of appetizers and a surprisingly good selection of sakes by the glass or bottle (not just the little cans you see elsewhere). We started with the salted potatoes and then moved on to ramens, which was rich, comforting, and exactly what you want on a cold night. And a BIG portion. They can prepare many items gluten free, and if you're unsure about your spice tolerance, you can get the chili oil on the side, which is a nice touch. Overall, a very nice meal and I'd definitely recommend it.

The boba is trash. I ordered three different drinks, and they tasted pretty much the same. If you're a boba enthusiast, don't get their drinks. The ramen noodles tasted bland and the texture was way off, and the chili oil dumplings tasted vaguely like bbq sauce. Out of all the things I ordered, the dumplings were the best. The service was slow even though there was basically no one in the restaurant, and the waiter gave the check even though I hadn't finished eating halfway. The ambiance was nice though, i'll give it that.

Beautiful dining area with little seasonal touches and natural light!

For an eatery right in the thick of a trendy shopping area, Yagi surpassed my expectations -- unique, savory food across the menu, delicious boba drinks, and an aesthetically lovely place to spend some time. After sharing the pork dumplings (delicious!), I had the beef tantanmen ramen. It had a peanut broth -- mildly spicy, a jammy egg, edamame, and a tiny saffron nest. The strawberry matcha boba was delicious and they had no issue with my substituting oat milk for coconut. My husband loved his ramen and drink as well. Excellent and friendly service. I'd sit at the bar sometime, mostly because it is covered in the perfect shade of golden tiles, but also people looked to having a nice time together up there. Surprising little gem I'd recommend to anyone! This is the kind of food that satisfies your soul, not just your belly. After a cozy little lunch you can shop around downtown Newport and pick up a little wooden boat to adorn your house, or drive for five minutes and bring yourself to a mansion tour. Life is good here. Why not add speciality ramen to the mix.

I was in the Newport area of Rhode Island and turned to Yelp for dining suggestions. Yagi Noodles caught my attention, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The White Peach Fruit Tea was overly sweet, making it hard to finish. The biggest letdown was the Tonkotsu Ramen, it lacked flavor, and the char siu was so heavily charred that it turned the broth black, coating the noodles and marinated egg with a bitter taste. As shown in the photos, nearly half the broth turned black, which really affected the dish. The bao buns were just okay, nothing memorable. While the restaurant had a nice ambiance, I really wish the food had lived up to it. The waiter that took care of us was very nice!

Stopped by while on vacation in Newport. Amazing udon and dumplings! The udon is all made in house from scratch, and you can tell. The dumplings rivaled some of the best I've ever had. All the meat dishes except the chicken dumpling were a little spicy, so I went vegetarian. The service was slow, the waitress was great, but just not enough staff. Also, nearby parking was $20, so be prepared. They also make their boba in house from scratch. We didn't get to try it because they ran out, but sounds good.

We came with a big party of 16 and had made a few separate reservations, but they were very gracious to seat us all together, despite the short notice. It took a while for our food to come out, but considering we were such a large party, that made sense. The tonkotsu broth was very rich and creamy. It was very tasty, but a little too thick for my personal preference. The noodles were decent, but the toppings were the best part - two halves of a jammy egg, a crispy mushroom, pickled red onions, sprouts. and delicious char siu slices. My husband got the curry katsu and really enjoyed it. The chicken katsu was crispy and tender, and the curry had good portions of potato chunks and sauce over the rice (and jammy eggs!). We also got a strawberry matcha boba to share, which was quite good too. Overall, it was great place to grab lunch!

I love me some specialty Ramen! I came here while having a day out in Newport and I was pretty impressed. The staff were all great and friendly, & they have indoor and outdoor dining. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the food menu is a little bit small. Not much to choose from, but still tastes delicious. They do have a large drink menu though; alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They also have delicious milk teas with Boba. On the food menu, they have a few different specialty Ramen to choose from, a few different appetizers, and they also have bao buns, which were extremely delicious... Unfortunately, my daughter chomped into it before I got to take a picture lol. We did not have to wait extremely long for our food either. To me the prices are pretty decent, to others they may seem $$$. I would recommend this restaurant two people visiting Newport as it is not as expensive as other restaurants over there.!

Oh how I wish my dish wasn't overly salted. The flavor of the broth was delightful, but painfully salty - and that's coming from a sailor. It wasn't until I struggled through most of it, because I'm not one to send back food, that my boyfriend and I were comparing broths and realized that his (though same order) was absolute perfection. Eggs were gooey and jammy, and the noodles had a nice bounce. They don't adhere to extra spicy - bottled sriracha and chili oil are their only options, so bring some heat in your purse if you are like me and want to feel the hurt.

This is a pleasant surprise in Newport! It's a small menu, but what it does (ramen and udon) it does well. It also has delightful surprises like squash blossom Rangoon, which sounds like it shouldn't work but somehow does. It's very clean and tastefully decorated. Service was super friendly as well. You will come away being very full and satisfied- definitely recommend!

Great friendly staff with a great ambience of everyone enjoying their time. Got these drinks with fast service and the taste is absolutely delicious. Gotta come here and checkout their ramen next time ;)

My longevity noodle dish with sides of kimchi and the chili oil crunch. One long strand of noodle to guarantee long life .

There is metered parking in the downtown area. There are paid lots but can be pricey.

Quickly sat on a Saturday afternoon and took a look over the specials menu and just had to try the Sushi Pizza. Interesting concept and very filling, hot starter for more than just yourself for sure. The sushi rice is fried to create the base and then the toppings with protein selection is applied. I tried it with spicy salmon and it was good, little light with protein, but flavorful. For my main I went with spicy miso ramen which comes with three tempura shrimp as well. It was a hefty meal for one and needless to say I brought home my future meal as I could not make it through everything. The broth had a light to medium spice level and hit the ramen spot. There is a good selection of beer, wine and cocktails as well, I opted for some green tea which was hot and warmed me up perfectly. The vibe is relaxing and casual to easily enjoy group conversations if you have company with you. There is bar seating along with general seating booths or tables throughout the restaurant. The bill game with two hard candies and cost around $50. Good value, good food, and good service.

We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

With that in mind, there's nothing else I could imagine other than a hot bowl of ramen. Located about 1.7 miles or a 7min drive away, I was excited. Upon pulling up to the front of the building, you can drive slightly further down SE and park in the small lot with several spots. I actually don't remember anything about the interior to comment much. I was laser focused on getting food in my tummy. We ordered; Tan Tan Men ; a bowl of ramen with spicy pork miso broth. this absolutely hit the spot. it was deliciously salty and full of umami, and the toppings were just right, and I inhaled it in minutes Fried Calamari ; another excellent dish. the calamari was nice and crispy and the meat was tender. couldn't have been done any better. the mango chili puree sauce was also very good and something I haven't had before Tako Yaki ; I'm not sure if I need to say anything about this. it's about as yummy and expected of a properly-done tako yaki as you would expect Karaage ; this one was actually pretty upsetting with how bad it was. the chicken seemed like it was very overcooked - the skin was hard and crunchy instead of crispy, the meat was not juicy, and honestly the portions of these chicken bites were pitiful. I even sent a snap to a friend and she felt bad for me. the flavor was also immensely salty. it came with spicy mayo (which was actually spicy! that never happens!) and a tonkatsu sauce, but honestly I was desperately in need of something sweet like ketchup or honey. Wife and I ate a total of 3 pieces. Our waiter was very apologetic and asked multiple times if we wanted it re-done or if we wanted something else, but we were already pretty content by the time we could air our complaints. To my satisfaction, he removed the karaage from the bill. Despite the miss, the customer service and the quality of the other foods makes it easy for me to still give the place full stars.
