Sushi selection was very basic, serving bins were not replenished in a timely manner. Selection was lower end buffet food.

Nice selection of food, the waitstaff was extremely friendly and it was reasonably priced. It was worth the stop.

The clams and mussels were unseasoned and the hibachi wasn't that great. My wife said the fried chicken was good and the desserts.

A Twisted Christmas Carol; Review Newport Playhouse Dec 1,…read more2025 Complicated. Not the play but the fact I and others, enjoying 3 days in Newport RI in a tour group, were basically a captive audience. "Dinner and a show" is how our itinerary put it. We ate a decent meal in the dining area and then all traipsed upstairs into this cozy little theatre. The stage was more than a proscenium because it projected out, bringing the actors into a more intimate relationship to the audience. (Just a note here: The seats were comfortable but the seat in front of you - seat pitch - was abysmally close. After 3/4 of an hour my knees began to hurt badly.) The play is a loose take on Dickens' Christmas Carol, with a 'Christmas past/Christmas present/Christmas future' structure. All action takes place in a small barbecue pub in west Texas. The proprietor (John Brennan), a grossly insensitive husband to his partner wife (Cass Caduto), is concerned for his business which is sliding downhill. Advice and antics from his live-in customer (Kol Daniel Cross) are scant help. The action unfolds with the help of a former employee (Rosa Nguyen) and the proprietor's former business partner (Matt Goldstein) who stole his barbecue sauce recipe years ago and has profited from it. Oh yes, that business partner is also the wife's former romantic partner, uh-oh. I could not find the author's name for this play. I suspect it was locally written by one or another of the actors or production staff. Maybe it was like a "Oh, we gotta put something together for our Christmas show" collaboration. The script produced a few jarring moments, as when the proprietor who has been in an accident and comatose in the hospital being visited by Christmas ghosts suddenly returns in full health. But the actors clearly enjoyed putting this on. The audience laughed and I think had fun watching although a few may not have had much experience with live performances. At the conclusion they started to leave and were surprised when the actors came out for a curtain-call bow. Ouch!

Also they should lighten up the colors inside the black is too dark. I am not criticizing I want the playhouse to succeed and since they are making changes it is just suggestion. The Cabaret was awesome funny. No tell motel was a fun play the actors were excellent but the play could have bee shorter.

I had not been to Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in years after a not-so-great visit but my husband…read morehas been going since covid & kept saying it had really improved. So, on a rainy, dreary evening, I decided to give it another try. What a difference! Walking in, first impression: very clean & surprisingly busy for such miserable weather - always a reassuring sign for a buffet. The sushi selection was solid for a buffet. While we skipped the hibachi grill this time, it looked like a fun option for the next visit. The buffet was consistently replenished, everything we tried was hot & fresh. Standouts for me? The baby Asian clams, crispy chicken nuggets (don't judge!) & perfectly snackable crab rangoon. I also loved that the desserts were cut into small portions so you could sample a bunch without overcommitting. Bonus: individual ice cream cups in a bunch of flavors. Overall, we had a great dinner, used our $3 off coupons & will definitely be back! NOM NOM NOM #YUM

My wife and I hadn't been to this place in a couple years and decided to try it out this past…read moreSaturday...OMG the place went downhill compared to what it use to be like eating there... First off I asked for a booth and the guy brings us to a child size booth with barely any room for two people to eat comfortably...Strike one, and the place wasn't even busy and he walked us by a couple of full size empty booths. We went up to get raw chicken and shrimp to have it stir fried with some vegetables. While waiting we walked around the buffet self serving tables only to see that the Crab Rangoons were all stuck together and the size of quarters, they looked like they had been reheated over time and not very appealing... I then found what was supposedly coconut shrimp drenched in a sugary white heavy cream sauce that didn't have any sign of coconut at all on them...The shrimp were tiny and barely noticeable in what looked like a white pudding...I tried this out and didn't care for it at all, way too sweet and nothing like I remembered it use to taste like. My wife couldn't find any snap beans or many vegetables where they once were (remembering the past) nope, instead they served squid rings, crawfish, mini crabs that looked too small to be sold and giant crab legs which we both took a hard pass on... The only chicken I seen was General chicken that was all fused together like it had been reheated and over saturated with their sugary sauce...The barbecue spare ribs had a chewy texture and almost tasted like it was raw, way too chewy for me and I didn't finish it on my plate. The stir fry was heated and cooled really fast! I noticed the pineapple that I added to the raw chicken and raw shrimp wasn't even cooked through and still hard... Overall the meal was pretty bad, nothing like it use to me that I remembered, the soda was barely carbonated and after two sips from the straw it was left untouched... We were there for approximately 15 minutes after getting our food and I asked for the Bill so we could leave... The waitress handed me the check, it was $48. for two dinners and two sodas. They also added on the bottom of the bill a tip percentage for 5% 10% and 15%...I gave the waitress a $50. Bill and told her to keep the change...She gave me a weird look after that... My wife and I left the restaurant hungry and I swore to her I'd never return to this restaurant ever again even if it were the only restaurant in the country. The service was terrible, the food was even worse than I thought it would ever get and the overall experience was horrible because the price didn't reflect a better quality... There are other Chinese restaurants to choose and I'd rather eat elsewhere than this dump

On Mother's Day weekend, selections were full and a great variety with plenty of swaps and refill. Very packed and a line leading outside. This is the most people I've seen ever inside. There's 8 rows of hot lamps and food with a back section of fresh, pick your own ingredients, lo mein hibachi grill that is cooked right in front of you. Don't forget to tip the cook! They have sauces to pick including spicy, hibachi sauce, soy sauce, garlic sauce and teriyaki. I think, especially on packed days, staff should be more on top of their dishes and watchful that parents check-in on their kids since some items were mixing. Also wanted more replacement of spoons and pinches since they had residue of food mixing old foods and new dishes of food~ Overall a standard place with good flavors. Staff should be a tad more mindful but this place is constantly moving and good spot for a casual dinner

The dining room is very attractive and nicely decorated, and the servers were polite, friendly, and attentive. Our drink orders were taken quickly, and the caipirinhas were both delicious. We made our first trip to the buffet and bar and there were so many choices! Hearts of palm, stuffed grape leaves, everything you could want for a salad bar, cheeses, hot sides, traditional Brazilian meat dishes, cheese rolls, fish, clam chowder and much, much more. While we were enjoying these items back at our table, we also turned our cards to green and strted experiencing the freshly sliced meats. Such a variety of beef cuts, lamb, chicken, sausage, and more. It was all super high quality, very tender, well seasoned, and I honestly don't know which were my favorites. Meat service was frequent - we were never without food and really never had to wait. They just kept coming and coming, and we kept trying more succulent meats. We finished our meal with the most delicious grilled pineapple and also the cheese with honey. Yum! Although there is a lovely dessert menu, we were too full to partake, and the pineapple and cheese hit the spot. The price for the unlimited buffet and meats is just under $50 per person, which at first seems a bit pricey, but when you look at all of the options and the quality of both the buffet and the meats, it is really a great deal! this is the third Brazilian restaurant I've been to, having been to one in Providence and one in Ogunquit, and Churrascaria Tropeiro's Grill is by far the best out of the three. I will definitely be back!

After requesting to be moved, we were placed at what seemed like a service table where staff gathered frequently. Throughout the meal, employees talked loudly about not wanting to work there and how they would rather be working in Providence. It created a very uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. To make matters worse, we were eventually seated near two large parties of about 15 people each, making it nearly impossible to have a conversation. The music volume was also unbearable -- way too loud for a dining setting. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the experience. The meats were rare to the point of being unappetizing, and the buffet hot items were mediocre at best. Overall, our service was good, chaotic seating, loud environment, and underwhelming food. Definitely not a place I would return to or recommend.

Having read the other reviews I have to agree that the place has a grimey feeling to it. A feeling like the entire restaurant needs to be pressure washed and the carpets ripped off and replaced. The workers were super friendly, but there was some definite disorganization amongst them. I was waiting a good 15 minutes before they could decide who was going to be at the omelette station. I laughed cause one of them picked up a broom and was like: "I did it yesterday, it's so and so's turn today." Then there's the quality of food which is basically bare minimum - the cheapest possible available and it shows in taste and appearance. At least... at least the coffee was decent which was a pleasant surprise, and the omelette was actually pretty good and that's pretty much all I would have from there. I wish there would be more fresh fruit. The cinnamon rolls - very obviously from a can. The gravy for biscuits obviously from a pouch that had water added, heated and served. You see what I mean? like its all quantity not quality. Which I guess you can't expect much more when its 13.99 per person. Maybe it's because it was morning, but we found the bathrooms to be clean which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I view golden corral as a place you go to when there's no other option as it was in our case within walking distance. It's cheap in both price and quality. This is the epitome of the saying: "You get what you pay for."
