We went with the following skewers, each came with 3 pieces: Kobe beef - our favorite one! Super juicy and tender, cooked perfectly! Takoyaki - Minced with small chunks of octopus; my first time trying this and it was pleasantly delicious. Eel - Also a delicious and sweet option Overall, the food was wonderful! There was a bit of a wait time to get our food after we ordered, but it was also super busy at Smorgasburg. I went to this stand at the oculus new wall street today, it was sooooooooo good! The staff was super nice, while they cooked you could hear them telling the others the orders in japanese. I Ordered chicken breast skewers and takoyaki, the chicken breast was very tender and juicy with just a touch of sweetness but not too sweet and a slight rice wine flavor and slight soy sauce flavor. The takoyaki dough was light and fluffy and the octopus was tender and soft. My only qualm would be i wish they would give takoyaki sauce and kewpie mayo and bonito flakes, but it was still great. read more

Tried the Kobe beef skewer at Smorgsaburg in PP. I thought the meat was tender but quite fatty (a little too fatty). However, the green sauce they had on top was absolutely amazing, and the Himalayan pink salt and pepper completed the dish. Tried this place at smorgasburg prospect park today. The place smelled great when I passed by and I love my skewers. So I got a chicken, pork and beef skewers to try everything. Have to say that beef was okay but the pork and chicken were bad. They were very dry and felt there was too much sauce. The beef was cooked decently but both chicken and pork were over cooked. I visited this stand at Smorgasburg and had such a bizarre experience. I got there at 11am and had noticed them on my last trip to Smorgasburg but hadn't had time to go, so I figured I'd start there while I waited for a friend. I literally just wanted one skewer of tofu and had ordered by 11:05am with only two other people ahead of me. I was annoyed because the sign said $3 and they charged me $4, but I didn't fight it. What I didn't realize was that while ever other stand at Smorgasburg was ready to serve people at 11am (which is when Smorgasburg opens), they had not even turned on their grill. I am not exaggerating when I say it took almost half an hour for me to get my one little skewer of tofu. At one point after 15 minutes, it finally looked they were making my food, and then I realized no, they were making the food they were putting out as samples people could look at, not making the food for the growing crowd of people who had paid but didn't have food yet. I literally walked away, bought food at another Smorgasburg stand, and came back before my tofu was ready. The tofu itself was fine; not bad, but not worth $4 and a half hour wait. We had eel scallop and octopus balls. The scollop taste very fresh and full with a hint of salt. Octopus balls were too soggy even when we eat it right after it got off the grill. The eel was not not bad considering it's a food stand. read more

Their most intriguing option, however, is called "rare parts" and upon selecting it, you are presented with a list pulled from behind the counter. I wish I'd gotten a photo of it, but the options included chicken oyster (any Amelie fans?) and chicken knee. We opted for one thigh skewer and one knee skewer. The thigh meat was nicely, lightly charred and served in a teriyaki marinade. The knee skewer was most memorable due to its unique texture. The cartilage was crunchy in the way crushed ice is crunchy. Do try it. read more
