While shopping and visiting the aquarium my family decided to try this place out. It was on the weeknight but the wait was still around an hour (this is the way it is in touristy areas though) we were sat with two other families and the server was very nice and attentive. We never waited on drinks and once we were served the food started coming our way very quickly. Soup,salad and then the chef preparing the main course in front of us kept the dinner going. Stopped in here for a late lunch early dinner with the family. We each had the filet and shrimp. Unlike many other hibachi restaurants, the fried rice was included with your meal. (So was dessert). The fried rice tasted good. Only problem was they add what looks like canned peas and carrots. (Not used to that). The steaks and shrimp were all cooked perfectly and the veggies were also packed with flavor. Like most hibachi restaurants the chefs put on a little show. This is a must read y'all look at my review history there is none. I leave no bad reviews for no one but this needs to be known. This place is horrible. It literally made us sick on top everything else. I have a video that I'm gonna post on my page y'all check it out. It's pretty sad. so we're sitting down eating and the cook probably left 20 minutes before the manager Bianca comes up to our table to rush us. She states to us if y'all need anything y'all let us know OK while straightening up the table and picking up things. Then turns to the waiters and whispers something so I said it seems like you're rushing us. She says well I am there's over a two hour wait. So I just let it go because my youngest daughter thats only 2 was still eating so I basically took her plate from her and I gather my seven children up and my wife and we leave the table. Just so you're aware the only reason why we sat there so long is because my 3 year old daughter peed all over her self and my wife had to go get,a change of clothes from the closest clothing store so we were waiting on her as well. So when I was walking out I wanted to talk with Bianca the manger and when I was talking with her I was using my hands because I am a hand talker. She said for one your going to stop moving your hands in my face and I was not putting my hands in her face I was simply talking with them. And she states I'm done and walks away while I'm trying to explain to her my kids were still eating and she states you been sitting there for more then a hour for one I waited just like everybody else to get my seat and two there was no time frame on the reservation. I really hope I get contacted by some upper management that's for sure. While I was walking out the host at the front told me to get the f out you b while my kids was standing there. She stated that usually places put too much soy sauce and etc. for her and this felt more healthy. It was super busy and the whole experience is rushed. I've been to hibachi restaurants where the cooks take their time to cook it well and really entertain going I.e going around throwing shrimps and you try to catch it with your mouth. You know, the staple moves. The food was decent. I only enjoyed it bc of the spicy mayo sauce they provided on the side. My rice wasn't even fried altogether the right way. I understand though, it's right on the strip at broadway on the beach and there are soooo many people it's inevitable. The cook was a nice person though. This was our first visit to Yamato. We had a great overall experience! I agree with previous reviewers that the hostesses are not very pleasant or welcoming. When we were seated, our waitress made up for our lack of welcome and helped made our dining experience very fun. She was sweet and patient with my children and very attentive. The chef was fun and entertaining. My three young kids had a blast watching him make food for us. The food was tasty, and the portions, even for our children, were very generous. I have worked at Broadway at the Beach for many years now and have eaten at Yamato's multiple times on break and for special occasions; even recommending people to them all the time. However, i recently got food poisoning from them (my friend got sick as well and we ate there the same time and had the same sushi rolls) and the manager Brooke gave me and my mother the hardest time and told me she would not compensate my medical expenses. We were extremely nice, especially with letting her know the food they were serving could make more people sick. But with her ignoring us for multiple days and trying to push us out of the areas in the restaurant where people could hear us talk about the situation, we will no longer be going back. I will never eat there again and I suggest you do not either. The food is not worth getting sick over and having to deal with an unprofessional business. read more

We went to Yamato to celebrate our friends son turning 21 with 25 people so took up two tables. We have been here before since we are locals and know it's great! This time we had the personable and wonderfully attentive Chrissy as our waitress, she was professional but fun! Then we had Ken who is the funniest cook EVER! He had a funny voice, song and little dance for every joke and he made the evening soooo fun! He literally made the evening so memorable. Hibachi is a tried and true fun group outing. It's not just a meal, it's an experience. Even though ever place you go the chefs do the exact same tricks it's still pretty fun lol. A good check can make all the difference though. I hit Yamato on vacation back in October. Big restaurant, lots of space, it's in a cool area too with a lot to do before and after dinner. Our chef was great and nailed the tricks. Tossed shrimps into our mouths, I caught mine because I'm not a nerd. The food was just ok, not spectacular. Truly the reason the rating is in the middle at the three is a combination of the food being just average and our waiters attitude. His indifferent, nonchalant persona was unfriendly and off-putting. I double checked with everyone at the table and it was unanimous. It affected the experience. The guy acted like he was doing us a favor but serving us. Sorry dude, let me remind you I'm not only spending my hard earned money to dine at your establishment but you're also working for a performance based incentive called a tip. I reluctantly tipped 20% anyways because I grew up working in a restaurant but i wasn't happy about it. Whoever hired this guy has very poor judgment I'm the type of person who is successful in waiting tables. I truly do not like writing negative reviews so let me sandwich it with some positivity again, our chef was great, funny, great performance, the restaurant was clean, we were seating quickly, and the restaurant is in a prime location to enjoy a night on the town. Nice set up and nice view from wherever you sit. Food was good and our favorite was the soy sauce dressing for the salad it's spicy but was good we ate it with our rice and took some home. We had filet and chicken, everything was cooked well. Serving sizes were more than enough we left there stuffed. Sorbet is included in the meal which was really good. We have been several times throughout the years and you never know what you're going to get with a chef , sometimes they are super funny and do really cool things while preparing your food. And some times they basically come out and just cook for you and that's it. Every time we are in town it seems something else has gotten worse. The shrimp appetizer had no flavor - couldn't even taste the shrimp. The yum yum sauce seemed very bland and watery compared to what it used to be. We used to come specifically for the fried rice but this time the flavor and texture left much to be desired. First off, when trying to make a reservation no one answers the phone. No matter how long you try and wait or how many times you call. As soon as my party walked in to get our table because our buzzer went off, the hosts gave our table to the group who walked in BEHIND us because we "took too long". The host then continued to talk about my family and roll their eyes at us when simply asked to explain why our table was given away and we had to wait even though our whole party was accounted for. We were initially told it was because we had one person already at the bar and one person was sitting on a bench right outside of the door, so we were told our whole party was not present. They eventually just wouldn't talk to us anymore. The second we got to the table we were rushed. The waitress wasn't necessarily rude but was constantly taking away plates and bowls (whether we were done or not) and just rushing. The cook was the only good part about this restaurant. Before our cook had even packed up and walked away our waitress was back asking if we needed to go plates and drinks. The food was mediocre for how bad the service was. And to top it all off, no matter how many is in your party you are automatically charged an 18% gratuity. Overall a horrible experience just for the food to make many of my party feel sick. We had a really great experience here! The wait was originally going to be about an hour and fifteen minutes and was probably only 40. The hostesses were extremely nice and had a good attitude. The one thing that surprised me was the huge portions. I ordered the filet mignon and chicken and the filet was incredible. The soup and the ginger sauce on the salad was so delicious. The sherbet was the perfect amount of dessert after the filling meal. The chef was also super nice and friendly. We only went here because it seemed like the only hibachi restaurant in broadway. Very disappointing dining experience. The food was fine, the server attentive, but we were rushed out of the restaurant. There were 12adults in our party. Less than 10 minutes after the chef v finished cooking our huge pile of rice, vegetables, and meat we were handed to go boxes! Most of us had more than half the food on our plates. After we were handed to go boxes (without asking for them) our dessert was placed in front of us immediately followed by our bill. We all felt like they could not get rid of us fast enough so that they could herd in the next group. Very rude! I called the next day and spoke with the manager,Bianca S. She explained how that is their normal process during summer...pass as many dining parties as possible through their dinner. She refused to give me the name and phone number of the owner.
