If you're looking for pretty good Chinese food, try this spot. We ordered wonton noodle soup and the beef stew noodle soup. Both were decent, but I didn't like the wontons. It had a weird taste. The flying shrimp noodles were pretty good. The shrimp was good and had a lot of flavor. The floating chopsticks were interesting and artistic. This dish is probably popular for that. We got the duck which was great. It came out hot and fresh. The skin was crunchy. Staff was very attentative and kind. The dessert was on the house.

My family and I tried Licious for lunch. We were their only patrons so we were a little surprised at the lackluster reception by the waitress. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. Parking can be a challenge since it's located near two other popular fast food restaurants. As for the food, we tried the roasted crispy skin pork, beef chow fun, roasted duck noodle soup, won ton soup, and cold lion roar milk tea. The dishes were all tasty. Roasted pork had good flavor and skin was nicely crisp. The chow fun was not oily and had wok "breath". Both the soup dishes were great: noodles had an al dente texture, won tons had a good "snap", and roasted duck was quite flavorful. The milk tea was really good, too; it came with an ice cube in the shape of a lion - which is why the drink's name is "lion's roar." We are definitely adding Licious to our normal list of restaurants to dine at in Elk Grove and looking forward to trying more dishes!

This is the only local restaurant that I know that has the flying noodles! Definitely had to check them out. Came here on a weeknight so they were not busy. Our server was really nice and recommended some options. We ended ordering the beef flying noodle, their special garlic spareribs and garlic pea shoot veggie. The presentation for the flying noodle was really cool. They used a pair of chopsticks to hold up the noodles. Taste wise was pretty good but didn't stand out to me. The garlic spareribs were super tender but too garlicky. Nothing too special about pea shoot veggie. Overall, this is a decent place. They do open until late so that is a good thing for late night owls!

Great service & authentic Chinese food. The interior is simple yet welcoming. I came many times after 10pm and food is always consistently tasty. you can alter some dishes the way it's cooked, and the owner is willingly make it right or recommend better way to make it for you. They open late so it's convenient if you're hungry at night or work late.

We decided to come check this place out looking for another Chinese food place in Elk Grove and was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is definitely like a mom and pop shop but we felt that the service was pretty timely. We got the lunch special and felt that the portion and price was reasonable! Definitely a good place to get your Chinese food fix! The individual booths or the large tables in the middle make it a good place to come in small parities or with a large group. The parking lot outside can get pretty busy especially since it's shared with in n out and raising canes but you'll be able to find a parking spot somewhere!

Decided to try this restaurant after seeing it on IG! Wanted to try the flying noodles specifically and it did not disappoint! Only issue is that the portion size was a bit small for the price tag. I also ordered a veggie dish, sweet and sour pork ribs, spicy eggplant and pork, and deep fried intestines. As for the flying noodles, I ordered the lobster tail. Everything tasted great except for the egg plant dish, it had a very strong orange peel or pomelo peel flavor. Ordered 5 bowls of rice and they were low on rice so had to cook a new batch but we finished eating before the rice was ready so they charged us for 3 bowls of rice versus 5 bowls. I do like that they have free dessert at the end. First time a restaurant served complimentary shaved ice with chocolate syrup and toppings!

Licious Chinese Cuisine in Elk Grove offers authentic flavors and friendly service. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and every dish is well-seasoned. A great go-to for tasty Chinese food-- the sizzling beef steak and eggplant tofu were fantastic. Thank you, Anthonyxibarrax

Licious Chinese Cuisine at 9160 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA is a restaurant I have not visited before. The ambience of the place was very plain (see picture) and some of the tables and chairs looked like it came from a ware house store. The restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. It is a family oriented experience. The server was very polite and attentive. She really cared and would often ask if everything's alright. The menu looked like any other Chinese Restaurant I've visited-nothing unusual. Now for the food! Before I ordered, I looked at other tables and saw the typical dishes you find at other places such as sweet and sour pork, chow mein, fried rice. Everything looked good and the patrons seem to be enjoying it. I ordered the chinese curry chicken, specifically requesting it to be MILD, wor wonton soup and steamed rice. I waited a few minutes and the soup was delivered. It tasted really good, especially the house made wontons. However, it was luke warm and not hot. A few minutes after that, out came the curry chicken. It's was hot and obviously fresh made but it was not mild. It was pretty spicy but it actually tasted excellent, so I didn't send it back. The white rice tasted good. One item that really stands out was their special blend hot green tea. Absolutely the best I've tasted. Overall I feel this is a pretty good place but not as good as others I've visited. Their special lunch menu looked good. I may return for the hot green tea and try some other dishes the next time I'm in Elk Grove.

Flying noodles, green beans, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, salted egg pumpkin

Licious Cafe is a new late night restaurant in Elk Grove serving up authentic Chinese food. Everything was a hit but I especially loved their flying noodles, sesame chicken, and salted egg pumpkin! The flying noodles is their fun way of making Hong Kong pan-fried noodles, which is one of my favorite dishes. I think the flying noodles is a genius way of plating them because even after you add the sauce, the noodles stay crispy and crunchy. I start to not enjoy this style of noodle after they absorb too much sauce, so by have some being able to PHYSICALLY BE AWAY FROM THE SAUCE, it's perfect for me! For the teas, i preferred the milk tea bc the roselle tea was too sweet for me. Also, contrary to popular belief they are *not* the sister restaurant to Tealicious on Freeport, but they definitely deserve for you to check them out! Here's what we tried: *Prawn Flying Noodles $23.95 *Mongolian Beef $16.95 *Sesame Chicken $15.95 *Mapo Tofu $16.95 *Szechuan Dry Fried Green Beans $16.95 *Lion Roar Milk Tea $6.50 *Roselle Tea (not on menu?) They took over the Hidden Szechuan restaurant and are located in the Rose Tea/In N Out/Raising Canes plaza!

Inside the same lot as in n out, conveniently next to the freeway, you can come and try out this Chinese restaurant in a hot pinch. It's open until 130am most nights so it's great when you're craving more than just fast food late at night. Services was okay, minimal interaction with the staff. Food was less than the services I had received. The tap water served had a soapy taste. The food I had looked appetizing, but it definitely had much to be desired. I had ordered this plate alongside eggrolls. The eggrolls were crispy on the outside, but still frozen in the middle. And this plate of glossy meat drizzled in sauce? Was mainly cartilage and soft bones, the ones that were manageable to eat were still cold in the middle.

For a late night dinner & Chinese food, Yan Kee formerly Licious something was a pleasant surprise. As I was strolling thru Yelp looking for some where close in Elk Grove, made the last minute trip here at 9pm. According to some reviews & mind you I didn't know what the heck Flying Noodles were but wanted to see what the hype was all about. We were greeted by a friendly young waitress and ordered, what else? Flying beef Noodles as you get the choice of shrimp & chicken as well. We also tried the roast duck Noodle soup & Pot Stickers. Overall, I enjoyed our experience at Yan Kee. Looking forward to trying their other dishes that looked very promising. If you didn't know, Yan Kee is located across from Raising Kane Chicken/In & Out Burger off Bond Rd. Bon appetite

My friend mentioned that this place has escargot cooked in Hong Kong style with other popular dishes. We were excited to try a new place in Elk Grove. We spoke with the manager/owner, and he said It's their soft opening right now. The grand opening is in September and they will be opened til 1:30 am. It will be so cool to have a late eats in Elk Grove. I feel like most places close by 9 or 10 pm. Of course, we had to order the escargot cooked in garlic black bean sauce. It reminds me of HK late night eats. It goes great with a ice cold beer! If escargot is not your thing (I get it), they have so many dishes to choose from. I love duck - we had the duck claypot, and the sauce is AMAZING. I can eat a whole bowl of white rice with their duck sauce. The fried green beans is better than most places. It's not oily, nicely fried, and so good! They don't have all the beverages and desserts set up yet, but I had the Hong Kong Milk Tea. It's totally legit! Not many people can get tea and milk ratios right! We look forward to coming back after the Grand Opening with full menu. Welcome to Elk Grove!

Restaurant added a 20% tip to our total without consent

I wasn't thinking about leaving a review until something terribly shady happened. The food here is average, nothing stood out as amazing. I was in Elk Grove visiting family and we decided to get takeout Chinese, this was close by so we stopped in. The day we came, there was one server who was running around stressed out and didn't have the greatest attitude. But we get it, it's a highly stressful environment to be in when you're the only one taking orders, bussing tables and closing tabs. We didn't leave a tip for our takeout because the server was so unfriendly. A few days later, my family member that paid for the takeout told me the restaurant authorized her card for more than it should have been. It appears the restaurant staff added a nice 20% tip themselves. This was super dishonest and shady. Other than the food being mid grade, terrible service, they're also very shady. I was feeling late night snacks so I got sweet-n-sour shrimp (my fave), salt-n-pepper wings (bc why not), and Mandarin chicken because the photos looked so good. Here's my opinion. Shrimp was perf. I love when they are straight and tailess with puffy/crunchy batter, the serving was legit too. The wings were yummy but a once in a while thing I would order if you ask me. The batter is thick and super crisp like a shell and so salty and flavorful in a good way. Came with lots of onions and jalapeños as it should and they chicken itself had a nice almost garlic marinated flavor. The chicken itself was piping hot and the best part. Just 'a lot' to eat-eat for a dinner. The Mandarin chicken was my least favorite just because it was a bit sweet for my liking. The upside is all their chicken this style is always big juicy all white breast meat chunks, nothing unrecognizable. My boys loved it, me not so much due to sweetness and being bready. All in all I still love this place and it is consistently good. If you love orange chicken get that for sure. When I picked up it was a tad warm inside the restaurant. They had the back door open in the kitchen, and it was 103 as a high so it wasn't refreshing to sit down and eat there.

My mom had been here before with a couple of friends and enjoyed it. We were seated quickly, restaurant was moderately busy. The real star was the orange chicken! It was a mix of dark and white meat, super crispy, and the orange sauce was plentiful with just the right amount of sweetness. Not spicy in my opinion, but a nice citrus flavor. Chow mein was also tasty. Service was friendly and the restaurant was both clean and spacious. I'll definitely be back with the husband and a baby!

Tbh, I was a little nervous since there haven't been many recent menu photos or reviews. We took everything to-go, but it was piping hot out of the kitchen and only took about 10 minutes from ordering at the counter to leaving with the goods in-hand. There is plenty of space to dine-in as well. Their menu is huge - almost overwhelming - but they have a little bit of everything. I stopped in specifically for BBQ Pork steamed rice rolls, which can be tough to find at most places outside of a dim sum menu. The price was reasonable (I think $6.75) and it was a great portion. Very flavorful, tender, and a delicious sauce! We also got an order of steamed BBQ pork buns (3 total). Surprisingly, I don't think it was the same meat from the rice rolls but that's OK because it was almost shredded consistency with a good flavor. The bun is a bao-style bun, so less fluffy than my preferred steam bun type but perfectly steamed nonetheless. We ended with an order of sesame balls (3 piece). I was surprised at how much oil was in the to-go container, and a little disappointed that there wasn't more of the sesame coating, but they were so FRESH! I assumed the inside would be red bean but instead it was jelly cubes that reminded me of square boba jellies. Possibly pineapple flavored? It was not my thing but also my fault for not confirming it what was inside. Will definitely be coming back for rice rolls!

Now In My Top 10 Chinese Restaurants In The Country!…read more SITREP This was THE perfect spot for our "Crazy Rich Asian"-crew (btw, I'm an official adoptee by these peeps in spite of my Italian-Mexican-French bearing *cough*) to celebrate the 2ND COMING (or it the 5th? Maybe the 20th??) of our dear dear friend, Hawaiian Elite TERRY K. coming back to visit with us! THE SETUP Such an incredible restaurant with great seating to support an incredible array of Chinese dishes and beverages! I'm actually in agreement with my friend & fellow Yelper David V. who said, "This place is like a high-quality Panda Express. Is that a good thing? You decide!" And David is right! By that I enthusiastically interpret his opinion as Tea Garden being incredibly ACCESSIBLE to every palette of customer: from those who are just casual Chinese food eaters, to the far FAR more demanding Asian appetites of friends who have much more experience with the wide diversity of Chinese cuisine and know how to ask for it, focusing on seafood, chicken, beef, vegetables, noodes, chilis, spice! PARKING AND "Parking"! It's kind of wild, but I find this more and more to be the case with great ethnic cuisine establishments, that delicious restaurants such as this find themselves in a STRIP MALL. Hey, nothing wrong with that, either! Cheaper rent means cheaper prices on the restaurant food. It ALSO often means tons of free plaza parking as in this case. So much for the car parking, not about where you "park" yer butt! We had a crew of eight (8) and all of us came with the attitude of "Let's try as many dishes as we can!": the large round tables with the large lazy-susans were the best method to make that plan work. If you are only 2-4 people, regular seating at rectangular tables will work just find. THE FOOD! And as I indicated earlier, we had a plethora of dishes: * Delicious broth & veggie soup to start * Crispy Eggrolls with Sweet & Sour Sauce * Crispy Shrimp with Sweet Chili Sauce * Chinese Chicken Caesar Salad * Fried Rice with Chicken & Shrimp * Broccoli Beef * Chicken Tso Chicken....and.... ...I can't remember what else! There was a LOT, but it becomes a blur after all the chicken and beef and shrimp and eggrolls I was devouring! THE LOWDOWN Suffice it to say, if you come with friends and an appetite, you are going to be soooo satiated! And in addition, I lucked out since half our friends were from the Bay Area and they sent me home with a large (LARGE) share of the leftovers that lasted me the week after that weekend banquet! Good food! Reasonably priced! Tons O' Fun!

Best DEAL for Dim Sum in Sacramento!…read more Be prepared for a LONG line! But honestly, for the price, I can see why this place is so popular. The restaurant was under its original owner, Nathan, for more than a decade before changing hands and shifting its focus to Chinese dim sum. They also switched from the traditional dim sum carts to a paper checklist menu: you just check off what you want and hand it to the server. Service: Friendly and efficient. Ambiance: Very casual and family-style. The décor is a little dated, with low ceilings. Definitely has that old-school mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall feel. Restroom: Decent and clean. Food: Overall, decent. Not the best dim sum I've had, but considering the prices, it's a pretty good deal. *Porridge: Good texture, but there wasn't much egg or meat in it. *Siu Mai & Har Gow: Tasty, but I wish the wrappers were thinner. *Chicken Feet & Bean Curd Skin Roll: Good flavor and nice and tender. *BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed Pork Bun & Custard Bun: Warm, fluffy, and enjoyable. *Egg Tart: Lightly sweet with a nice texture. *Supreme Soy Sauce Chow Mein: Too dry for me and almost no flavor. This was probably my least favorite. Overall, the food is decent, but the prices are the real winner here. If you don't mind waiting in line, this is a great option when you're craving dim sum without spending a lot!

The food was outstanding! We had hot n sour soup, spicy pork dumplings and sesame balls. My husband is still talking about the sesame balls today because they were so good. Their portions are very generous. The soup spoons were a pretty coated ceramic and the silverware was heavy weighted and comfortable, not forgetting to mention they were gold plated. It was like dining at a friend's house instead of a restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly and the three men in the kitchen were working tirelessly. The prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend Hidden Dumpling House.

The decor was simple and cozy. Their menu has changed a couple of times since we've first been here a few months ago. We ordered a lot of food over the times we've been here from Shrimp Siu Mai to Pork And Cabbage Dumplings to Xiao Long Bao to Beef Noodle Soup to Mongolian Beef to Garlic Eggplant to Chow Fun to Salt And Pepper Tofu to Honey Walnut Shrimp to Spicy Garlic Green Bean to Mapo Tofu to Mixed Vegetables to Black Pepper Beef. The Xiao Long Bao, Pork and Cabbage, Mongolian Beef, Chow Fun, and Mixed Vegetables were all delicious to us. We tried to order something new each time we ate here to try more of the menu. The restaurant can get busy but we haven't been when there's people waiting to come inside to be seated. Overall, I thought this restaurant was good and we'll be back in the future!

This restaurant is a to-go only restaurant, and gets plenty of traffic from the area. I went midday (3:00pm) and there were at least 4 customers in and out during the time I was there. While I was checking their menu, I decided to order, since I remember how good their chicken wings are. I ordered the chicken wings, and a lunch combo with chicken with black bean sauce. The combo comes with chow mein and fried rice and an egg roll for $13.99 but I asked for steam rice instead of fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't check my plate before leaving the restaurant because they gave me all steam rice and no chow mein. Despite the error, their chicken wings are still the best, and the chicken with black bean sauce was very good. I would've like to have tried the chow mein. Also, I didn't notice that they charged $16.99 for the plate, which was a little steep considering I got no chow mein. Some of the condiments are extra, like the hot mustard, so ask for it before they ring up your bill. I'm sure I'll be going back for the chicken wings because it's made fresh and it's really good.
