I an pretty stoke that they opened this place near me, so I don't have to drive to Stockton blvd or Freeport for my roasted duck and soy chicken fix. I ordered from the kiosk, paid and was waiting for my order when they called my number. My order wasn't ready but they called me up to notify me that they ran out of roasted pork. Their inventory isn't current or updated on their kiosk so I would suggest that you order directly at the cashier. It's a little pricer than other places that sells these kind of items, but with gas being expensive, you're saving gas money so it evens it out. The duck tastes scrumptious. Flavor and moisture of the meat was great. Soy chicken was amazing as well. I didn't care for the chai sui/bbq pork - too many fat and the little sprinkle of green stuff they put on top as garnish can be removed because it made the dish taste odd. The confusing menus are posted all over the place: outside window, inside window, the wall, ordering window... the online menu is confusing too and you cannot see the side choices if you want to order a rice plate. A cautionary note: The smaller dim sum choices are ok but the chow mein is very greasy. It was either the greasy chow mein or the lotus wrapped rice that gave me a horrible stomachache and cramps all night. Was disappointed it wasn't a full restaurant like the Roseville location when I heard one was opening in Elk Grove. But the duck and chicken satisfies my craving if I don't want to go all the way to Ranch 99 or other Asian supermarkets. The line was ok and it didn't take too long even though there were many customers. It is take out only. honestly very solid food. the roast duck is very good. most places usually over season their roast duck with five spice, but this is just perfectly spiced. the siu mai pretty solid too. the lo mai gai aint that great lacking in flavor. the char siu bao is so good tho omg. i usually don't even like getting them but my mom ordered the char siu baos and they were delectable. oh also i didn't get a pic but we also got the sponge cake. but tbh it wasn't that good. but yeah overall, id come here again especially for the roast duck. it is a little pricey but like meh, our economy is cooked. read more

Chicken Rice as shown on the menu didn't even have chicken in it. I called to clarify about the Chicken rice not having chicken, they said it doesn't come with chicken in it but just Chicken oil. Came in on Mother's Day and they were extremely busy, but the team did a great job handling the rush and getting orders out as quickly as possible. I ordered almost $400 worth of food, and the staff was super helpful bringing everything out to my car. All the dishes were on point. The dim sum was delicious, even the baked goods to-go were great quality. The soy sauce chicken, roasted duck, and every dim sum item we tried tasted fresh and well made. The taro cake especially stood out, there were actual shredded taro pieces. They were sold out of a few items by the time I ordered, which honestly says a lot about how popular the place is. Visited on a Monday around lunch time 4/27! Ordering was super easy, the menu is pretty straight forward. Ordering was also quick. You can do it with a cashier or kiosk but the wait for the food took some time. I think I waited about 30 mins or so? Would've been nice to know ahead of time the long wait. I assumed it'd be quick since the items were already ready. I tried their sui mai, ha gow and combo plate. The combo plate was $19.25. If you get anything other than white rice it's an additional charge. I chose crispy pork and duck for my items. The crispy pork was kind of bland to me, the skin was crispy though. The duck has more flavor and I actually really enjoyed it but there were barely any meat :( I'm not sure if I got the end of it but it was all pretty much bone and skin. I personally prefer the meat over duck skin. For the combo plate it's loaded w cabbage and pickled veggies as well. The ha gow shrimp was very generous. I think the dim sum price is average & portion is too? There's no dining space in there's it's just to order and take out! I'd probably try them out again and get a full / half duck next time asking for specific cuts! read more

New spot opened and we wanted to test out and compare their roasted duck, chicken, roast pork, and dim sum basics like hargow and suimai. Inside was small and had no seating. Purely take out. They take yiur order or you can use the kiosk. They were very busy and had 13 people working. They took our order wrong and we did not find out till getting home. They wrote down BBQ pork instead of roast pork. What a downer. A bit pricey for the meats compared to other places. Also the dim sum was the average size and tasted just ok and only 3 pieces compared to the standard 4 in restaurants for that size. Land Park has a place that offers bigger portioned dim sum about same price and 3 pieces, our go to spot and will go there instead. The chicken was definitely good and better than the Asian supermarkets. We would come back for this as it is not too far away so the higher price is ok. The roasted duck was a split disappointment though, good flavor and skin. However there was really no meat on this duck, scrawny, and was mostly bones. I wouldn't come back for the duck and get it elsewhere. Since they messed up our pork order we didn't get to try the roast pork. However the BBQ pork did have good flavor overall and cooked well, the meat was pretty lean and could have been a little bit more fatty. We will wait perhaps a couple of months before coming back and hope to see improvements. read more

Place is clean, small, no seating chair tho. Got some buns, they sale in pairs so you have to get 2 at a time, be good with option to get single instead. Try the steam chicken and duck, meat are good and marinated well. Price can be little in the high side for Sacramento area. Duck can ran out sometimes on holiday, waiting little long up to 25 minutes for the next batch. Be good they prepare earlier or more for busy holiday. read more

I tried their BBQ pork today and was extremely disappointed. The one-pound portion was unacceptable--almost entirely made up of small scraps rather than proper cuts of meat. Even worse, the meat at the bottom was extremely dry and had turned a dark color, strongly suggesting it was old, leftover meat that had been placed underneath. I also ordered the taro cake. The portion size was good, and I appreciated that it contained real shredded taro pieces. However, it tasted like it had been prepared in old oil, which took away from the quality. This place is less than a half mile from where I live, and I already knew it was take-out only. I am highly likely to come back, but my observations include: * for a take-out only model, they should install some seating for those who are waiting there, since wait times can be considerable, some customers physically have a hard time standing for extended periods, and our weather can make it impractical to wait in a car, * for a take-out only model, only one person bagging orders is really inefficient, * the operation appears inefficient in other ways. It doesn't look like they can fit more staff behind the counter. But, for example, I saw a worker have to look through a tower of steamers almost to the bottom one before she found what she was looking for. Food is pretty good. Can find better duck elsewhere. Love the crunch of the skin on the BBQ pork belly. Will try different things next time. read more

I had a great experience at Yang Kee, I liked their other locations in Roseville and Davis so I was glad to see they opened a new location in Elk Grove. Their menu is different than their other locations but they do have some overlapping items between locations. I ordered the wasabi beef puff as well as their roast duck. The wasabi beef puff is available in their other locations while the roast duck is exclusive to this new location. Both of the items I ordered were tasty and worth it. The wasabi beef puff came fresh and nice warm filling with the nice flaky pastry and had the same great quality that the other locations have. The roasted duck was very crispy on the outside and was nice and juicy on the inside. The staff was nice and the service was quick. Overall it was a nice experience and I will be back. read more

All entrees are beautifully packed and the rice goes corner to corner filling the whole lower half of the container. I easily got 3 meals out of my selections. Wait is too long, too much rice to very little meat ratio, bad customer service. So much rice not enough meat. For $20plus dollar rice plate the meat to rice ratio was completely off. I went twice to make sure I wasn't missing something here, but nope this place will give you a heaping portion of rice with very little meat. I saw the photos from other customers from when they first opened and the meat is half or maybe even a 1/3 of that. First time I went, I ordered rice plate with imperial chicken and duck. I kid you not, I got 5-6 thinly sliced chicken and 5 pieces of duck that was mainly bones! The rice had barely any duck rendering on it. Second time I went, I ordered 3 meat rice plate with orange chicken, imperial chicken, and duck. Meat portion was still very little and we got duck bone again. The lady took forever to cut the meat and plate, then when the manager came, I guess she put one too many pieces of meat and took it back out after he gave her the eye. I also asked for extra duck rendering and that was a big issue as well. Never going back and will stick to my Freeport spots. read more

Bought a half soy sauce chicken, sticky rice, and steamed sponge cake for my parents this afternoon. While cutting the sponge cake, I found a black spot that looked like mold after peeling it back. Since they're still in soft opening, I'd recommend paying closer attention to food quality and freshness. I won't be returning until improvements are made. read more

I went on a Sunday afternoon to order a handful of items with my family. - 1 order of baked bbq pork buns (2 pieces) - 1 order of baked pineapple bun (2 pieces) - 1 order chicken turnovers (2 pieces) - roast pork (1 POUND minimum) They did not have enough roast pork at the display. The guy told me it was a 20 minutes wait. Which I agreed to. They had to get more from the back which took about 10 minutes. So mind you, all the other items are already baked and in the oven warmer ready to pack. Why am I having to wait almost 30 minutes for my entire order?! They have 10 plus people working but mostly standing around. Not very efficient for a take out only place. And only 1 person chopping up the bbq items. The baked pineapple bun has actual pineapple piece in there which I found odd.. The roast pork had good flavor and I appreciate that it's not super fatty. I know it was just their soft opening phase but they have lots of improvements to do. Also for the price and portion sizes, you're better off going to an actual dim sum restaurant. They place the meat on top of the rice and slice it at certain angles to make it look larger, but in reality, the pieces are very thin.
