My friend and I were looking for a Chinese restaurant in Alpharetta near our office. Unfortunately, we don't have many choices, so I took to Yelp and found Yan's cafe. It had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Very nice decor, updated and very clean. We were quickly seated and received excellent service! The waiter was very friendly and informative! The menu has a ton of choices, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are good! Lunches include soup and an egg roll. I had the chicken and vegetables and my friend had general T chicken. We both enjoyed them. Wasn't excited about the egg roll, but the entree was fine. Egg drop soup was just ok. In conclusion, we will bring our co workers here next time and will hopefully have the same great service and food. Good job!! We recommend this place! This is a Chinese restaurant but their menu is all in English since most of their customers are Americans. One of my friends knows the chef here so I know they have good Cantonese food (the chef is from China) Only been here once for dinner and had a great experience! We had a big group of 13 so my friend called them earlier for special orders and arrangement. We ordered over 10 dishes, all Cantonese food and were very delicious and authentic! My most favorites are the lotus root soup, specialty duck and Kung Bao Fish. My other Chinese friends and American friends enjoyed all the food too. I looked at their menu and didn't find our food on their normal dinner menu. My friend told me what we had were all special orders. I THINK if you know Cantonese cuisine and want some authentic Cantonese food you can call them earlier for specific customer orders. I'll come back to try their menu food next time. Let me start by saying food 5 stars overall, this was the first time ordering from them and I was pleasantly surprised - it was one of the best Chinese I had in a while. I ordered hot and sour soup, 8 spring rolls, veg fried rice, chicken broccoli, chicken veggies, tofu kng pao chicken lo mein(mild) everything else was medium. Chili oil on side. Came out to $62 and change... What I received was: hot and sour soup, spring rolls no sauce at all, 2 dishes of chicken with veggies, chicken lo mein was medium spice (specifically said for kids please make it mild), tofu kng pao was hot more like. So order was a wrong by 1 dish and some minor errors with 2 While paying I asked for fortune cookies - the lady said already packed in your bag - I asked for duck sauce and soy sauce - already packed in your bag. Asked if they put sauce for spring rolls - already in the bag and the bag was stapled shut. When I got home I had no sauces no fortune cookies! So everyone should definitely check the food bag before leaving! Also the lady who was assisting in check out should be more friendly - she got a bit of attitude when I asked if sauces and fortune cookies were given. Which is the reason why I didn't open the bag to verify. They cater to take out and have no in house dining. you order at the counter and they bring you out y to go order that you can eat at one of their tables. A few coworkers and I decided to try the EAT24 app, Yelp's food delivery service, last week and and ordered food from Yan's Cafe. We were all in the mood for some Chinese, and I, in particular wanted some chicken and broccoli. Although I did not have an experience being in the actual establishment itself, I will say that the EAT24 was easy to use, we were able to track our order, and the delivery driver arrived quicker than expected. Now, this was some food good, and it definitely left me feeling satisfied. I've tried some places where you get more rice than chicken and broccoli, but there was enough of everything. Nothing was bland and was seasoned perfectly. It came with an egg roll, but I also decided to be greedy and order the spring rolls in addition because my coworker advised that they were good. Tried it today for lunch. The restaurant is clean and simple. The waiter was a young man very pleasant, attentive and answered all of my questions nicely. We ordered from the lunch special vegetables and seafood, Malaysian curry beef, and Malaysian shrimp. The lunch special comes with soup and egg roll. Got the egg drop and the hot and sour soup. All dishes were delicious! I found this restaurant on Yelp. I'm so shocked I had not been here since I love trying new restaurants. I have been here twice now. I just needed to confirm that the food was consistently delicious. I had the General Tso both visits and tried the teriyaki chicken with the veggie fried rice. They are not dining in, but do have hand sanitizer at their table while checking out. Yan's Cafe is a really nice restaurant in the Alpharetta area that serves great tasting food at reasonable prices. The inside of this restaurant is decorated very nicely with a modern theme and the word "cafe" really suits the vibe I get while eating there. The server there at the time I went (I'm pretty sure his name was Jerry but it might've been Joseph) was very fast and efficient even though he was the only one working at the front. There were a lot of families eating, but the server went above and beyond reaching out to each table. While I was there, I ordered the Mongolian Triple, the Happy Family, Mapo Tofu, and Beef Lo Mein. The Mongolian Triple was my favorite, but all four dishes that I ordered came out quickly and tasted great. This restaurant was extremely clean and had such great service and food. Well first I tried calling to place a order on my lunch break but no one was answering. I thought they were closed but when I passed by, the open sign was on. I went in to place an order and no one was standing at the register. They literally have a bell you can ring to get their attention, rung it 4 times but I stood there for 10 mins before someone came from out back. Yan's is one of those places that selfishly you want them to be busy enough so they stay in business but not so busy that you can't get a table when you go there. Every time I eat here I say to myself "I need to write a review" but then I go home with a full stomach and take a nap and forget. But not today!!! I love this place! It's close to my house, in a very convenient location off of Hwy 9, very clean and the staff is so sweet. And the food, let's get to the star of this show...the food is excellent! I've come to expect most places to have substandard Hot and Sour soup but not here-tangy, flavorful and so good with the crunchy wontons on top. Other items we've ordered and thoroughly enjoyed are the pot stickers (nice size with a perfect pan seared crunch), Mongolian Beef, shrimp fried rice, almond chicken. Our LLOONNGG search has finally ended. After trying more than a dozen local Chinese resturant's we can finally say the search has ended. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, we ate was outstanding! I finally found a General Tso's that was prepared to perfection. Nice heat throughout, like General Tso's is supposed to have and a delicate breading. First time the portion of Chicken was greater than the breading. Our Grandson destroyed the Fried Wontons and the Chicken Fried Rice. Spoiler alert, the Chicken Fried Rice actually had nice CHUNKS of Chicken. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Sesame Chicken. Yan's Cafe is definitely a DO OVER in our book. Crispy!! One of the very few restaurants that properly fry the chicken when ordered before putting it in the desired sauce (got sesame chicken). It was truly crispy on the outside and so delicious. Also, the value for money is unreal. Their lunch menu came with an entree, fried rice, a spring roll, and a choice of soup. All of which were very good. Yan's Cafe in Milton near Fry's and Walmart is a simple delicious chinese delivery spot. Across country, Chinese takeout is always either dirty or doesn't looks very out as you walk in. On top of that people are usually not super friendly. Yes, I know because I used to work at one when I was in high school. This place is totally different. The moment you walk in, you get that wow is it a chinese takeout place. Only Panda Express is this caliber ;) Everyone in this place speaks English, yeah probably because they also have American staffs, so no worries there won't be any language barriers. Food is always fresh, nice portions, tastes good, and price is great especially for it's location. When you are hungry, you don't want to drive, they can also deliver it to your door step. Since this place has gone to take out only, their take out order person messed up our order 2 times in a row. The first time, we didn't get the correct food. This was extra disappointing after driving 20 minutes home. Calling the person back that took our order, he said bring the un-eaten food back and we will swap out for correct food. What a pain. The second time we tried take out from here, they only gave us part of our combination meal. They need a new person to receive and insure orders are correct. Will not waste my time with this place. After the near one hour drive from East Cobb we found that they have closed their dining room and now only do take out. Nothing on their web site says nothing about this. SCOOOOORE! It is late in the afternoon and we are looking for lunch in the Windward area. We tend to have one "go to" restaurant on this side of town so we need to broaden our options. We both wanted Chinese food so we Yelped and discovered Yan's. As we entered close to 3pm, we immediately seated ourselves and were approached with menus and flatware. After looking over the menu, we decided to start with the vegetable spring rolls and ice cold water. We later added an order of mixed vegetables and chicken in a white sauce, (my choice) and spicy Singapore noodles with chicken. The egg rolls came out piping hot and I loved the texture of the vegetables which were shredded and not mushy. They were perfectly seasoned without being salty or greasy. Next, our plates arrived and the servings were ginormous!! We had planned to share plates which we did and I still had food prepared to go. My husband really liked his noodles because they were just as he ordered them, very spicy. The spice was a bit too much for me and I would not add the additional heat, but as I stated, this was my husband's choice. However, aside from the added heat, the noodles were perfectly seasoned and very flavorful. I will definitely be ordering them during my next visit. I initially wanted to order my standard Moo Goo Gai Pan but the waiter suggested the Mixed Vegetables with Chicken for more vegetable content. It was the perfect choice as it contained all of my favorite vegetables and it was nicely seasoned. We really enjoyed our lunch here and this restaurant is definitely own our list of new options. This review would not be complete without a special shout out to our delicious water and those super crispy fortune cookies. My husband laughs when I Yelp about the small things but I appreciate the details. The water was exceptional as it has that delicious Poland Spring taste that is unmatched. Since water is my beverage of choice, I always appreciate a very clean tasting glass of water in a nice tall glass. The fortune cookies were made in Stone Mountain so they are local and not trucked in from the other side of the country. This might explain why they were very fresh and crisp and did not taste as if they were stored in a dingy basement or next to old oil. Finally, I must tip my hat to our very young waiter who was everything that a waiter should be: polite, attentive, capable of eye contact and appropriate conversation, helpful and absolutely appreciated. I don't care for candied cherries but I adore nuts so he was the nuts in my favorite treat! Just perfection! The restaurant was modern with a casual aesthetic. My father was a Chinese chef on the west coast and I've been looking for a go-to Chinese restaurant in the Atlanta area. I've been disappointed by other restaurants, but now my search has ended because Yan's Cafe is the best! Their recipes are authentic and prepared with love. Food quality is fantastic with superior meats and fresh vegetables. Prompt and caring service never disappoints, and the cafe is welcoming, clean, and comfortable. Prices are very reasonable--the lunch special is so affordable that I almost felt guilty ordering it! This is fresh Chinese cuisine the way I remember my dad used to make for our family.
