I have been craving a Chinese Restaurant here in Alpharetta - one that has take out and offers delivery! Not only does Yan's offer these with great packaging, their food is really, really good. We had Mongolian Shrimp and Shrimp Kung Pao. Both were absolutely amazing. The Mongolian Shrimp was definitely some of the best-tasting Mongolian I've had, so thank you Yan's!!! The shrimp they use are nice sized and what restaurants should use and so I am truly happy about this!!! The Hot and Sour Soup, however, is much too sour and has no heat. I would not order this again. This was the absolute only disappointment. Sadly, we ordered two meals, one with Hot and Sour and one with Egg Drop and they sent two Hot and Sours so I cannot comment on the Egg Drop. I wasn't about to call and complain about this mishap. I'll try the Egg Drop next time. It may have been a bad day for the chef with the soup but I am a Hot and Sour soup fanatic and this rates one of the lowest I've had. All that being said, I'm still giving Yan's 5 stars. The delivery service was fantastic, the food was hot and delicious and the egg rolls were great too. No better way to celebrate Chinese New Year than at an authentic Chinese restaurant! We started out with the dumplings. Thick dough and perfectly steamed. Came with a soy sauce that looked like it had a few extra spices in there. If I had been alone, I could have eaten all 8 as a meal. Between the person I was with and myself, we each ordered a lunch special. They ordered the chicken and broccoli. I ordered the Hunan beef. The lunch specials come with a egg roll or spring roll AND a choice of soup. Pretty great deal for about $9/person. Both of us opted for the spring roll and miso soup. That spring roll was one of the best spring rolls I've eaten. Wish I had ordered an extra side to bring home for a snack later. I found the chicken and broccoli dish to need both a little more salt and the sauce to have an extra kick of flavor. I was warned the Hunan beef was spicy. I needed to add Sriracha and chili sauce to my taste because it wasn't spicy enough. In true honesty the overall quality of the food is about 3 stars. The 4 stars is because the service was impeccable. Very attentive, knowledgeable staff. Willing to answer all questions and special requests about the menu. Food came out quickly and was hot right out of the pan. Pro tip: if you can or know someone who can read/speak Chinese, they have an all Chinese menu with the #goodstuff. read more

So I just moved to the area and was looking for a decent Chinese spot for "cheat days" and saw that this place had 4.5 stars and decided to give it a try. Chinese take out in Atlanta is definitely hard to come by, so I was totally surprised by how freaking good the food was. I got the Spicy Thai Basil chicken and it was AMAZING! It came with white rice (you can get fried rice at no extra charge) an egg roll and choice of soup (I got wonton soup). The egg roll and the soup were just as good as the chicken and they had so much flavor and nothing was saturated in grease/oil, a downfall of many other Chinese take out restaurants. The young lady swore to me she put them in the bag. I told them I didn't have them. She told me oh well, they are now closed and hung up on me.
