Really disappointed with the order I received. I'm traveling with 3 kids alone from SF to legoland and decided to pick a restaurant we could grab lunch at before heading to the hotel. This was a curbside order and not eaten in house. I ordered truffle fries, sweet potato fries, kids chicken tenders with fries and fruit, chicken nachos, chicken wings, and strawberry lemonades. After our flight and running through the airports with all these kids, I must say I was looking forward to a nice refreshing lemonade, which is probably why I'm writing this review since it was a total disappointment. I paid $75 for everything, and the only good thing were the fries. The chicken has a weird texture like it's not real so that's fun. The nachos I ordered were on stale chips (probably from them putting them in the oven to melt the cheese). They did add lettuce like I asked for so that was nice, but the tortilla chips and the chicken totally ruined the rest of the meal. So we ate about $30 worth, which isn't even half of what I paid. The lemonade though, absolutely heartbreaking. It literally tasted like water I paid $4 a piece for. This meal was supposed to be the kick off meal to our vacation, and now I have to waste money ordering more food at legoland which I was trying to maneuver around because it's not cheap. Paulino made us the most AMAZING Grand Patron margarita's and then left at the end of his shift and we were stuck with two people who have no clue how to make a quality margarita. Very simple, NO Silver Patron, skinny (no Sweet and Sour).... Tequila people. The first round without Paulinho's awesome 'Rita's came out all syrupy. Our amazing server, Samatha took them back and had Keith remake them. Well... they came out with Silver Patron. Now most people probably can't tell the difference with tequila when it is mixed in a margarita, however, we can because that's all we drink. I love the classic rock playing loud enough to keep you awake and pumped up, but not too loud that you can't enjoy a conversation with the people at your table. The service is pretty darn good! The first time I came here with my hubby, I had a super cool dude who was super on top of it. He even sold me on the Oktoberfest take home mugs. ( They sold out BTW) The second time I came was with a bigger group and the chic serving us was great. The only criticism I have is that she closed our tabs a little early. For my birthday, I was given a gift card to Yard House. First off, it's right outside the Carlsbad mall so there is lots of parking. The restaurant is huge with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a sports bar so there are lots of tv monitors to watch your favorite sport. My husband and I came very early (11:30am) for lunch. Our server was Rocky and she was friendly and very bubbly. Not being a beer drinker, I ordered a classic Mojito. My husband ordered a Rogue Nitro Chocolate Stout beer. We both enjoyed our drinks. For lunch, he ordered a Korean Cheesesteak Sandwich with fries and I ordered a Kurobuta Pork Burger and onion rings. Everything was excellent! Fries and onions were crispy and well-seasoned. Always a grand time at Yard House. I always crave a nice beer from here and I just found my new favorite which is the: JULIAN APPLE PIE CIDER I hope they keep it here forever!! So tasty!! I sat outside and there was only a couple and myself, so it was nice and quiet. My waiter was nice , he noticed I was alone so he did small talk with me, which I appreciated lol probably felt bad. Anyway, the water always tastes funky (at every yard house I go to) but luckily today it was good. This is the second time we've been to this location. There was one meal that impressed me and That was the jambalaya. We had the jambalaya, a kurobuta burger with truffle fries and mango mojitos. The mojitos I loved! That's really what I would go back for. It's the perfect summertime drink and they make it well! The jambalaya was also really good. My husband loved it. It can get a bit spicy for me personally but that's what makes a good jambalaya so if you don't like spicy I'd get something else. The burger was where I started getting disappointed. It was dry for me. I also wasn't asked how I liked it cooked, I usually go for medium, it was well done so for me it was over done. Also the fries were over cooked, hard and dry. Stopped by here for a late dinner just before Christmas eve with family as a last minute decision. I was happy they had some Hawaii beer on tap but after ordering was told they were out so I went with a glass of wine...nice that they had the same wine I was enjoying at home (Avalon cabernet). We ended up ordering 3 rounds of various appetizers and just a couple of entrees since most of us (the guys, not the women) were kinda full on beer and wine. Everything was really tasty and the service was great. We had two double orders of the deep fried calamari... really good. It's all around good bar/pub food. The poke nachos were good (not quite as good as in Hawaii) as well as the onion ring tower. Burgers are a staple and they offer a pretty good variety. Love love their food!! My entree was Shrimp and Calamari Diablo. It was so delicious! They have generously put shrimps so you can have it every bite! You can taste all the spices. This place is super great o grab a beer, but food is average. My Boyfriend and I placed an online order from their website to try their wisconsin cheese curds ($11.45). Order was ready in around 30 minutes, right when we arrived to the place. There is a counter for online order right when you walk into the restaurant. Can tell this place is super popular since there were handful of people doing outdoor dining. The cheese curds were small in portion for the price, probably would have been better if we ate it fresh, but cheese curds were slightly cold and a bit salty. The hot honey sauce helped cut the saltiness, aioli was good, but a little too creamy for the cheesy curds. Next time, I'll have to visit this place for outdoor dining for food and happy hour beer. read more
