Great spot that's dog and family friendly! Lots of space here! And yummy food and drink options. I definitely will come back with my fam! My favorite thing eat here was the tacos!

Ambiance..big space and plenty of space to run around and heat lamps Service..fast and friendly Food..diff food spots..pizza.burgers..thai..Mexican and big bar in middle.

My toddler and her friend always have a great time here (as you can see in the background the big connect 4 is a hit with the kiddos!)

Wow, as a family with a toddler this is SUCH a wonderful family friendly establishment! Lots of turf to run and play, they have large connect 4s which is fun. There are multiple different food vender options, our favorite is the Mexican station - their pollo asada burrito is perfection and absolutely big enough to share! The full stocked bar has a fantastic signature drink section (my favorite is the spicy margarita) as well as beer and even nonalcoholic beer! - I do recommend ordering from the bar vs a service because you can only close out your tab from the bar if you ordered there so it's much easier to quickly close out!

I went to Crackheads (a sort of food court, beer garden kind of place) for Thai takeout at the Thai Style Kitchen stall. Because I worked in Bangkok for 5 years, I'm always on the lookout for great Thai food --- and Thai Style Kitchen delivered on the taste and flavor I was looking for. I ordered two dishes: Yellow Curry Chicken with chicken thigh and leg, coconut curry, carrots, onions and potatoes with side of rice; and, Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle), with flat rice noodles, egg, bell pepper, Chinese broccoli, basil, fresh chili, garlic and house soy. Both were delicious, had a decent heat level (although I always like food spicier), and were filling. The woman who served me behind the counter was very friendly and efficient. And the price was very reasonable, especially for the amount of food served. I'll happily return. Next time, I'll eat at Crackheads itself instead of just taking the food home. It has a really chilled ambiance.

The highlight was me bringing Cali and her making a buddy. She managed to stay in the shade :)

The food options are "just okay", but the concept of the space is awesome! The food is hit-and-miss here: Thai place was out of most teas before dinnertime, the smash burger place was decent (fries and onion rings are seasoned well and made for sharing), the sandwich place (pulled pork + ham sammie and under-cooked fries) and taco stand (chicken taco) were average at best. This place is dog-friendly; there's sandy areas and a poo-bag station. Cali made eye contact with a boy nearby and they army-crawled to each other to meet. Super cute! It's a nice location to bring out-of-towners or even kids. There's a few games on the fake grass and everything is nicely spaced apart for ease of movement. Overall, a welcome addition to South O! Pros: - dog-friendly! - small parking lot and street parking - did I mention dog-friendly?! - fun ambience - bar for those who care - smash burgers were really good Cons: - food options... if you go with low expectations you won't be disappointed - employees not the friendliest (especially at the Thai stall)

Such a great location. Came on a beautiful day with friends. There are great food choices and quite a variety.

The vibe is great , good concept with many food choices from tacos, pizza, sandwiches, and burgers. There is a full bar in the center. They give you a buzzer when the food is ready. Its a bit pricey for what you get. But check it out anyway

    Boocha time!

The ambience is always on point, and the food is always a hit! especially when the bevs are hitting. The bartenders are super welcoming and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. And when they have live music? Chef's kiss. It takes the vibe to a whole new level

Came here yesterday with our baby for lunch and we had a great time! Love the atmosphere and also love that they have multiple food options. There was a sandwhich stand, a taco stand, a Thai stand, and a burger stand. I got the shrimp drunken noodles from the Thai stand and they were probably the best I've ever had. My husband got a smash burger that was good too! We will definately be back.

Tacos were good, pizza is unfortunately better at 711! Ambiance is cool for adults with kids.

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

I LOVE something a little herbal or bitter-- this was not that, all 3 of us agreed it was undrinkable. She brought it back to the bartender for a lemon drop, that ended up being made sickeningly sweet, like biting into a cinnamon roll!! Can't we just get a normal drink!? There's a wide, wide range between Pine-sol and cinnamon roll. It almost felt insulting, honestly, like a bad joke.. I ordered one of their "specials" and it also came out tasting like cleaning solution. I know bitter Italian liqueurs, I'm not freshly 21, and I can usually get by with a drink I don't prefer, but this was (once again) soooo over-the-top bitter. It just didn't taste like something you should even put in your body-- cleaning solution is the most accurate descriptor. I was excited because this place has great reviews, but we must have came on a bad night.. I'd come back for the DJs, just order water or something in a can.

That perception aside, if you aren't trying to chat the bartender up for lively conversation there is plenty to see in the cleverly themed bar. If you like your tiki bars low-key, The Lobby Tiki Bar & Grill has got you covered…read more If that sounds like a negative, it's not. In this case, "low-key" refers to a tiki bar that is not over-the-top; one that doesn't cause you to enter into an entirely different reality. There's a time and place for that sort of tiki bar but in a small coastal town perhaps you don't want or need to enter a fourth dimension. The Lobby is small (though larger than I'd anticipated), not noticeably dark (like many in the genre), and outfitted with a nice array of tiki-themed tchotchkes. Scooby Doo, playing silently on a small tv above the bar, is a perfect accompaniment to the pleasing decor. I both ate and drank here and found nothing not to enjoy. Tiki bars generally elicit happiness in me and this one, with its excellent server, did not change that mindset. An Astro Chimp ($14) was my tiki drink of choice, mostly because I was interested in trying a cocktail featuring cold brew. Very good, and it did not keep me up all night. Fish & Chips ($23) was a sizable and satisfying portion, plenty there to be shared by two. "Brussels" ($11), were also quite good and ample. You will not go hungry if you choose to dine here. The Lobby is a fun choice for your time in Oceanside. Stylish and satisfying on every front, I'd happily return. Other stuff: * There is apparently a stairway-accessible rooftop deck here but it was closed for a private event during my visit. If open, definitely worth checking out. * 5% surcharge is automatically added to everything you spend here.
