I went in last Friday afternoon to kill time while waiting for my Eye Exam at Lens Crafters in the same strip mall. I had 1 drink and played several rounds of a trivia game on the game module that was on the bar. About 30 mins Iater , I finished my drink paid and went to my Eye exam. I went in with my phone and Airpod 4's which I purchased last month for $179.00 plus tax. Later that night I realized that I didn't have my Airpods so I went to Apple Find My App and realized I had left them at Chili's. I called they were closed. The next morning I called again after they opened at 11 and spoke to a "Raul" who said he was an Assistant Manager . I asked him if they had found them. He said; "no we haven't ,they aren't here" I said ; "ok you may not have found them but they are there; I tracked them through the Apple Find my App. which is ALWAYS ACCURATE." First, he didn't know anything about the app and proceeded to tell me that he didn't have them AGAIN and that the GPS Apps fail all the time. Yeah, in summary, An Assistant Manager at Chili's is so sure of that he is right ; is trying to convince ME that APPLE IS WRONG and he doesn't even know that the software in question exists. Realizing that I am dealing with an absolute CRETIN, I ask if I can come by and look around they may have missed them. He reluctantly agrees , but not before he once again adds; " BUT I DON'T HAVE THEM , THEY AREN'T HERE." I hang up frustrated, realizing I am fighting an uphill battle from the get go. I arrive ask if Raul is available and the girl that greets me says; "I think he is in the kitchen , cooking. " I guess Assistant Manager= cook in Chili's vernacular. Learn something new everyday. Anyway, I ask the bartender, who looks at me funny and is totally stand offish overall , and says , "you can look but they aren't here." I say to myself, wow another soothsayer who is also smarter than Apple! By now I am feeling that welcoming warmth that you feel when you walk into a 3rd rate franchise. You guys know that feeling right? That notwithstanding, at this point, I am totally impressed &utterly shocked , because who would have known that this otherwise mild mannered Chili's Location in Oceanside, California, is obviously loaded with so many employees that are member of "Mensa" ! Realizing that I am in the presence of , well, I don't have a word for it , maybe one does not exist, let's just say ,"it was a truly indescribably memorable experience". Nevertheless , I looked around just in case these self -proclaimed geniuses missed them while cleaning up the night before. Then another pseudo manager, perhaps also a cook. female tries to rectify the situation once again saying she doesn't have them and attempts to scoot me out the door essentially summarizing that Apple has no game and an PAYING EXISTING CUSTOMER -(Been there at least 4 times in 9 mos.) must be crazy. I them says well thw6 are here lets call the police so they can look around. Then finally their leader appears. The managers manager, Sinewy and majestic as she glides towards me with her sleeve tattoos (both arms) and 60 lbs overweight due to her proximity to the grill AND FOOD. You see, I figured out the hierarchy @ Chili"s-Assistant Managers cook some of the time ,bt her she mans that bad boy ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY. I think to myself, being the leader of such a gifted squad, she must really be something. And she was, folks . She in her eternal wisdom WILL SURELY will come up with a solution that none of us mere mortals have could possibly ascertain . Oh her name? Yeah , it was Dianne or something like that . No worries ez to find ; she is the fat chick covered in tats, strapped to the stove with a motor mouth. She - she says "we can't look for them right now we are very busy and if don't leave I am going to call the police " ( not too busy to opine on APPLE'S LACK OF TECHNICAL ABILITIES NOR THE FACT THAT I AM OBVIOUSLY OF MY ROCKER) but BUSY NONETHELESS. She adds that I am causing a disturbance ( apparently that means looking for your airpods in Chilis vernacular) - it must be , since i didn't raise my voice, nor accuse anyone of anything , just looking for a $200 communication device ( inadvertently left behind while I was spending my money there, no biggie right? In closing, my review of this restaurant is as follows: if all of the food in Oceanside somehow disappears and you are wandering aimlessly trying to find sustenance because you are ready to collapse and you see their sign in the distance that reads "we have food ", Do yourselves a favor... Just lie down, close your eyes and let the good lord take you from starvation. It will be a lot less painful than going here ! read more

Hr reluctantly took us to a different one. Noise level is pretty high In the restaurant. We all ordered fajitas. I ordered chicken fajita. It was pretty disappointing. It took me awhile to become a ChiliHead. I heard a lot about this Tex-Mex & American restaurant chain and glad I finally had a chance to dine here. It's good to know Chili's been around since 1975. Based my experience, I can tell they put the guest at the center of all they do because the customer service was always greaaat. The super friendly staff were very attentive...making me feel special in this welcoming atmosphere. Chili's Oceanside stays in our regular rotation for a reason. It's not the fanciest, it's not a Mom and pop, but you know exactly what you're gonna get and there's something for everybody, especially for my kiddo who can be a really picky eater. We usually go for the menu deal (appetizer + entrée, always a win), and my son loves it here because the kids' meal options are great. This visit, we also treated ourselves to the molten chocolate lava cake... and wow. Zero regrets. The service was quick, friendly, and on point.. we like that they usually have the sports game you wanna watch on TV, reasonable cocktails, and a great happy hour, and drinks refilled fast, food came out fresh, and everything ran smoothly. Service was good here, our waitress got to us when we needed her. The inside was really dirty, we did get there later in the evening but still dang! This red needs a paint join and a deep cleaning. The food was 6/10 good. Mozz sticks were delicious Chicken bacon ranch nachos were just okay and seemed like a small amount for the price. The baby back ribs were delicious but barely any meat on them. The tenders and fries were hot and fresh. I didn't love the Mac n cheese. Gosh where do I begin. Came in to celebrate a graduation and we were a large party (11 people). The hostess was nice and helpful and we were seated pretty quickly, I'd say we only waited about 15 minutes, not bad. We get to the table a take our seat, we were greeted by someone who took our drink orders and never came back. When our drinks came out, one was missing and two were wrong and a different person brought them out to us. It took about 10 minutes to find someone else to even ask for the missing drink. We didn't even bother with the wrong drinks because we could tell they were struggling already. Missing drink finally came out 5 minutes later. I received my order and it was pretty good, the fries were hot and fresh and the burger was good too. I flagged someone down to ask for water and when the cup arrived it had some kind of white gunk on the rim. I was immediately disgusted. I wiped it off to see if it would come off and it did but I just didn't even want to drink it. I had to use the bathroom so I walked in and the stall had no paper or seat liners, so I went to the second and only other stall and the same thing; no toilet paper and no seat liners either. Absolutely ridiculous, there was dry blood on the walls next to the toilet paper dispenser and the lock on the door was all wet, I can only imagine what it was. This place is beyond disgusting and I would not recommend it to anyone. I will not be returning not even if my next 5 meals were free. read more

Sometimes you just really need a triple dipper...and Chili's does not disappoint! Our waiter was fantastic for our group of 8 with 3 kids. He was very attentive, was on it for drink refills and didn't keep the kids waiting for their food so there were lots of happy campers! I ordered the mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings and southwestern egg rolls on my triple dipper and the mozz sticks and wings definitely stood out - they both were fried perfectly with just enough sauce! We came right at prime dinner time so it was pretty crowded and busy, but we didn't really have to wait long for a table (long enough to move enough tables together and wipe them down). We came to celebrate a kid's birthday so they sang to the kid in our group and got him a celebratory ice cream scoop. The chips and salsa were flowing and it was a great time amongst friends! Sat down pretty quickly on a midweek lunch visit--no long wait, which was nice. Food came out in about 20 minutes, decent pace for a busy spot. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, chicken tenders, and Margarita Chicken. Honestly, the chicken dishes were pretty similar -- the only real difference was a bit of lime sauce on one of them. The steak was well done but surprisingly juicy. The chicken itself was pretty bland aside from that lime kick on one plate. No more free chips and salsa, I guess they phased that out a while back. Sides were the usual beans and rice -- nothing special. Total came out to about $68 (~$20 per person), which feels pretty average for Chili's these days. Overall, it was okay, but nothing great. If I compare it to actual Mexican-style restaurants around here, it doesn't quite meet that level of flavor and seasoning. Would I come back? Probably in a pinch if I'm craving something familiar and quick, but it's not a destination spot for me anymore. read more

We've been living here over a year now, this Chili's is always amazing. Me and my husband have been for dates, anniversaries, and this past week we brought our friends from New York out to eat here. Our server was Andrew, and despite coming in with only 20 mins until the kitchen closed, he provided amazing service for our food and drinks. The food was super delicious as always. He was very attentive and made sure to make sure we were tended too even with numerous other big parties still in the restaurant. He even stopped to chat and we told him about our friends, and he showed us pictures of his son who was super cute. Also in this review I want to commend the bartender, I'm so sorry I forgot his name. Often there's some Nights where he has to bartend and serve as well as run food! He always does an amazing job, all the staff do amazingly. If you see a negative review on wait times, for food or otherwise, I wanna take time to remind you all these are real people, and sometimes the place may be slightly understaffed. The world doesn't revolve around you. They honestly do the best they can and it shows. I think the last time I was at Chili's was back in 2013 near buena park after howie's game shack, so it's been a while and not saying that the only reason I'm back is the Triple Dipper but damn! Social media has really help on influencing me to try it! My bestie and I, has been sending back and forth on other IG accounts reels about it and the day came to finally trying it out. We went on a Monday, no need to be on waitlist and was seated right away. Services was great, our server was attentive the place wasn't too crown nor loud for a Monday night. Of course, we went in August so the Mango Mambo Marg $6 and that drink is HUGE! (see picture) and not sure if we had a great bartender but that drink was really good. Perfect ratio of sweet and tequila. For me, I ordered the Triple Dipper with the following three choices of: Big Bites (Would not get, it was really salty but then again, i'm just salt sensitive), fried mozzarella (10/10 would get again) and Nashville hot chicken tenders with sauce on the side. I just like my tenders to be crunchy and control how much sauce to dip. Now, I wouldn't want to get this every day nor week, once in a couple of months to catch up with my besties along with alcohol. read more

MANAGEMENT' BILLING ISSUES DIRTY OVERPRICED - SLOW 2 major things happened: 1. The iPads on the table for the tipping percentages were NOT on percent amounts, but dollar amounts! They stated they were percentages, but 18% on $75 is NOT $18, - 20% on $75 is NOT $20, and So on. I have pictures. 2nd issue, we ordered the combo - appetizer + main course for one set price, - no - it broke apart our entire order and charged us individually for everything at full price. Then when I asked to pay in cash, he said only if I had exact change. WHAT!?!?!? I will never be going back for OVERPRICED MEDIOCRE food, with FILTHY walls at the booth we were sitting in, it was an overall horrible waste of time and disgusting experience. Worst $100 I've ever spent! The ONLY positive was our server, which none of this was his fault. We were one of 5 sets of people there, so he had time. After BOTH managers were at the computer with him for what seemed like 15 minutes straightening out the bill situation, I then had the tipping issue, all while neither manager bothered to come talk to us. Big parking lot in the shopping ctr. Lots of spaces on memorial day. We were seated immediately and tended to immediately. A variety of seating available and we were seated at a booth. Hubby ordered a beer and I ordered unsweetened tea. We were hungry but didn't want to over order and have extra food. We ordered an appetiser to share We got three dippers. We got southwest egg rolls, chicken crisper and the sliders. We also ordered chips and salsa to share. Service Is fantastic though food is nothing to shout about. Our chips were good. Probably the worst Chili's I've been to. We were sat down and a server did not greet us or take our food/drink order until 15-20 minutes later. We had so many workers pass by us without any type of acknowledgment. Our food took 40 minutes to come out from the time we ordered and we were a party of two. Once our food arrived, my order was incorrect and I had informed a server about it. Ten minutes passed and there was no update but we saw the server helping other customers. I think she forgot about the issue with the order. Ate the food as it arrived, but was disappointed that my order was incorrect. Servers looked stressed and the place seemed understaffed. There were times where the place looked packed and there wasn't an employee in sight. Overheard a few employees complaining about the customers and how they were upset about their food not coming out. When our server was clearing our table, she dropped a few utensils and almost knocked over our glasses. She apologized but you could tell that she was stressed and in a rush. We felt bad for her because she was running around the entire time we were sat down. I don't think it was her fault, but more the fault of the management for understaffing the shift. The food here was on par with other Chili's locations I've been to. If it wasn't for the extremely slow service and lack of attention from the servers, we would have had a decent experience. Arrived at 11:30am on a Wednesday for a company luncheon. There were 16 of us. Walked in and the hostess was ready for us and had already set up our table. Angelique was our waitress. She immediately took our drink orders and brought out a few baskets of chips and salsa for the table while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. She took our orders and got them all back to the kitchen. The food arrived soon after. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Angelique was so attentive and brought out drink refills without us even having to ask. Even with our large group she came out with extra napkins, utensils, straws. We hardly had to ask for anything. She had it all there for us. I've never had a bad experience at this Chilis. The staff, food and service is always top notch. PS - Don't pass up on the Molten Chocolate cake. So I walk in with my family to the bar area and immediately, not even a minute later, Lisa, our waitress that happened to be the bartender asked us what we'd like to get started. I ordered a 3 For Me, which is an absolute steal. Entree, appetizer, and drink for a low price. I got the Cajun Shrimp Alfredo and my dad got the Big Crispy. Right as we finished ordering, drinks and appetizers came out already, which is astonishing. Keep in mind, this was a Sunday, when they're most busy. The chops and salsa were delicious. Mozzy came by to give me a refill on strawberry lemonade right as I finished it. Then our food came out. My Cajun Shrimp Alfredo was seasoned to perfection, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My dad's Big Crispy had a perfect balance between chicken and breading, a problem that they had before but was now fixed. Overall, the food was incredible, and service was amazing. It's been a long time since I've been to Chili's, but I've heard that they are really turning things around so I decided to try them again. Things have really improved. I had the "3 for Me" special and it was spectacular for the price. A juicy, well seasoned smash burger, a generous side of seasoned fries, a soda with refills, a mountain of chips and salsa all for $11.90 before tip! The chips and salsa were just ok, but everything was great. I'm going to try a different option for the appetizer next time I go, and I for sure will be going back. Service was great. I got welcomed and seated immediately. My waitress checked in on me a couple times and refilled my drink. Table was bussed as soon as I was done. Everyone was friendly. The food came about 5 minutes after I ordered. I couldn't ask for better service. Ambiance is typical for a chain restaurant. I will say though that the restaurant was clean, and so was the restroom. We decided to visit the Chili's restaurant in Oceanside, CA located on Vista Way. We arrived at 11:30 am, a half an hour after opening. The hostess saw us enter and instead of greeting us, she looked at us with a blank stare as if we were invisible. Not a good  start. I  asked if we could get a table for two. She proceeded to walk us to our table. The restaurant was fairly empty. Unfortunately, she decided to seat us right next to the entry doors of the kitchen, putting us next to a busy area with a lot of foot traffic. Oh well, looking on the brighter side of things, maybe we'll get our food faster. We were greeted promptly by our server, who took our drink orders. She gave us time to look over the menu and after bringing our drinks in a timely manner, took our food orders. We opted for the Santa Fe Salad and the Ultimate Smokehouse Combo. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and after providing us with extra napkins and refilling our drinks, we were ready to dig in.  The Santa Fe Salad consisted of tender grilled chicken, mixed greens, pico de gallo, avocado slices, cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, spicy Santa Fe sauce and a side of house-made ranch dressing. The salad was well portioned for the price. The only criticism if any was that they went heavy on the  Santa Fe sauce, making the salad a little too spicy for my taste.  Luckily, the side of ranch dressing toned the spicy flavor down a bit. I would recommend asking for the spicy Santa Fe Sauce on the side so that it gives you more control over the heat level.  Would I order this again?...probably not. I can usually handle spicy food, but when it comes to a salad, the spice should be there to accent the flavor, not overpower it.  The other dish we ordered was the Ultimate Smokehouse Combo. This was a very well portioned platter that consisted of a half order of honey chipotle ribs, tender chicken crispers,  jalapeno-cheddar smoked sausage, roasted corn on the cob, french fries and a slice of Texas toast. There are other options of choice for protein and sides available for this platter, so be sure to check the menu or ask your server. The favorites were the sweet and juicy ribs and the well seasoned corn on the cob. There was so much food, we took the leftovers to go. Overall, I would say the portions of food were spot on for the price and our server did a great job checking on us periodically and topping off our drinks.
