I went here as an after-work-Friday-night thing. I ordered 5-6 martinis over 2-3 hours and left not even buzzed. They tasted good, but were the most expensive fruit juice I ever ordered. We were a party of eight so we took advantage of the half price appetizers to sample three recommendations from the waitress. Chicken nachos, buffalo chicken and spicy sesame calamari. The calamari was the best and so different than the normal fried calamari. Followed up with the spicy jambalaya which was equally good. I had very high expectations for the Yard House. I had heard good things about this restaurant's food and beer selection. My expectations were further heightened because of the 2 hour wait on a Saturday night when they do not take reservations. However, overall I was a bit disappointed. I love the look of this restaurant. The atmosphere is modern, casual, fun and great place for a date. I like the overall interior design and setup with a huge bar gracing the middle of the restaurant. As the other reviews state, this place is loud, not just a bit loud- loud enough that you have to yell across the table to hear your date- often yelling back "what?". On to the important stuff- food and beer: The beer and alcohol list is better than most and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menus- including their beers. They are ready to give recommendations based upon what you generally prefer. The dinner menu consists of burgers, tacos, salads, sandwiches- regular pub fare. Burgers come with a choice of fries-- plain, sweet potato or truffle garlic. The truffle garlic was very delicious and I would recommend this option. They were so good I ate the entire plate of fries without any Ketchup- they were THAT good. I had a lamb burger-- again, it was tasty- but just decent. Nothing extra special about it. Again, this place is decent but not worth 2 hr wait for a burger, fries and beer. (Can you at least take reservations if you know there always known to be a wait?) Absolutely loved this place. The food was amazing and the service was on point. I came here with my step sister and we both enjoyed our meals and had no complaints. Our waitress was very sweet and extremely attentive, which I always appreciate. We ended up getting the cheesy spinach dip, and both the dip and the chips were out of this world. I have never had tortilla chips like the ones they served! For my main, I went with the Gardein rice bowl, and I'm still thinking about how great it tasted. The price was very reasonable for the portion size, and I was able to get two full meals out of it. The Gardein was cooked perfectly, and the rice and vegetables and sauce were mixed to perfection. The meal was so good that I ate the leftovers for dinner the next evening, and it was one of those meals where you think about the leftovers all day because it was so good. I'm addicted to the jambalaya here. Every time I go I think that in going to get something else and I just can't. So this isn't rrreeeeeaaaaalllyyy much of review of anything other than that damn delicious jambalaya. I'm try to hit on some other aspects of the restaurant. The outdoor eating space is great. It's heated so you can still eat outside in September and October. The wine list is pretty good, but the beers to choose from are better. It gets wicked busy and they don't take reservations on weekends so there can be a wait. read more

After reading my review, the Yard House contacted me and invited us back to try it again. My husband and son (2 yr old) went on a Tuesday night. There was a bit of a wait because it was a Bruins playoff game but it went quickly. We started with a calamari appetizer and it was delicious. Husband had a burger and I had a salad. I want to give you a better review Yard House, really I do. But your 2+ hour waits and mediocre service really take a way from all the good things you have to offer. We went on a Saturday night expecting a very long wait based on reviews from other Yelpers, but 2+ hours is ridiculous. They really should start a reservation system, it will still be just as busy - there is NO WHERE else to drink/try that many beers in the area. Once we were seated, service was fine - nothing to brag about, server came by, brought our beers, brought our food - but we did feel a bit rushed and no one ever checked on us. Food was good, I had the korean pork tacos, husband had a burger. Beer selection is good, although when you're waiting for 2 hours for a table and the bar is 5 deep, you basically order whatever you can think of and don't have time to review the menu (thankfully they had Shipyard Pumpkinhead on tap). Then once you sit down at 9 pm the last thing you want is to try a new beer, even if it does sound intriguing. Again, a reservation system would do wonders. Will I go back? Our first time here was yesterday. It was very busy which we did not expect late Sunday afternoon but we found out that Santa was coming to the Lynnfield Commons later. After only a ten minute wait, we were taken to our seat. With all the people and multiple TV's broadcasting the Patriots game, the noise level was high but bearable. The food was very good and our waiter was attentive. They have a good sized bar and wide, no very wide, selections of beers. The menu is also quite extensive but we stuck with pub-fare appetizers. I used to LOVE yard house, especially being a vegetarian, they have a lot of options and could make any of their burgers vegetarian. But thy got rid of that option! It was my favorite thing here. Needless to say, I always get good service. And the atmosphere is nice. Sometimes the wait can be really long but that's really only on weekends, so it's expected, especially in a busy plaza like Marketstreet. Very cool place inside and out with 140 beers on tap, great outside seating with heaters/fans. Solid menu. I am excited to go back and will spread the word. I had the Baja Fish Taco's. I am a burger fan, but a fair amount of places make mediocre burgers. To date the Yard House gets my top vote for the best burger. BÉARNAISE Burger with béarnaise sauce, fried onions. Swap the fries for truffle fries. If your going to eat fries go all in IMO. This is one of the few burgers that ketchup is completely unnecessary. Warning, this is NOT a low fat lunch, so I save up for this one. read more

Love the Yard House! Such a fun restaurant with great food, atmosphere, and drinks! I always get the House Tropic, which is delish! Sadly I'm not a beer drinker, otherwise there are a ton of options! I had the Spicy Edamame which is okay. It has a weird after taste. I've had it other places and was much more flavorful elsewhere. I've had the California Roll which is delicious, however it does not come as a Maki roll. It comes in a cylinder like shaped, topped with all the goodness of a California roll, it's delish! Their BBQ Chicken Pizza is very good as well, as is their Caesar Salad! It's a fun place to be to people watch as well. They have great outdoor seating as well in the summertime! read more

Despite opening weekend handing out 90 minute (reality: 2 hour) waits, the service was actually not that bad. Our waitress (Holly) kept apologizing for the wait every time she came over (which was frequent), and told us thank you for being patient. I mean, we had nowhere to really go and we were dead set on this place, hence why we waited 2 hours to get in there! We spent half the wait time in Starbucks, so it wasn't too bad. Anyways, we didn't really want to order food, but we ended up splitting (between the 3 of us) chicken strips and fries. The chicken tore apart as soon as you touched it, so you know it isn't processed and laced with preservatives to keep it's shit together. That was a plus. The dipping sauces (2) were pretty good as well. Based off of how drunk people probably get by ordering a yard of beer, they only limit you to one. So we all had a yard of beer, and a few other drinks as well. My yard was Shipyard Pumpkin with the cinnamon rim and I finished every last drop (I am in NO way a beer girl, but anything pumpkin...gimme!). For the amount we drank, the bill was decently priced between three people ($117). We would go back...I mean, I definitely will since it's an exit away from my apartment. read more

More like 3.75 stars... A new restaurant in a new attractive (somewhat upscale) outdoor mall. Upon stepping in line, outside in the cold, the line moved along pretty quick. Once we got in we (3 of us) found out the wait time was 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. The place was packed solid. The smell was very appetizing. I could easily tell it wasnt a typical American bar/pub. Granted, the place was probably packed because it is only 1 of 5 restaurants in the huge complex, the candy store aside. The atmosphere was kind on the eyes. I like the design and modern look to the place. The people were well behaved, mostly 30yr old and above crowd. Didnt appear to be a pick up joint, just people looking for food, drink, and good conversation. They had 129 beers on tap and many quality choices too choose from (for all you fellow beer snobs). Our beers came VERY quick and tasted very fresh. Our server was Brenda and she was top notch for sure. As soon as my water was low, she was there for a refill. Considering how busy the night was, that means a lot to me. I chose the asada tacos ($14 ish), NY steak strips with peppers, guacamole, and pico de gallo. It came with "spicy mexican rice" and a bean mixture. I put the rice in quotes because it wasnt spicy nor as it "Mexican" flavored. The bean mixture was very tasty and a rather new flavor for me. The tacos were good. I liked the soft shell they were served in and they were good, but not great. The steak was a little tough, and I got a chewy chunk in one of my bites that I wouldnt allow passage to my belly. The people sitting across from us was a party of 8 with all kinds of appetizers that looked fantastic! I work in the fitness industry, so I dont typically go for the extra calories. Overall it was a pretty good experience. Plenty of tv's with sports on them, the music level wasn't too loud that you couldnt hold a comfortable conversation, and the wait staff was very helpful, kind, and prompt. Because of the wait time, steak being over cooked, and a bit less than "Mexican", I'd give the place 3.75 stars. My friends enjoyed their meals, one who got a burger that was cooked properly, but wasn't very juicy (lean beef maybe?). I personally wouldn't have complained because I'm not a fan of fatty beef. It came with shoestring french fries, which I dont particularly go for. I'd take a steak fry any day. The other friend also got tacos and had the same "Mexican" rice experience, but really liked her tacos. Give the place a shot. Try out some new interesting meals and some items you'd typically find at an American bar/pub, with a little class added to them. I would go back since it wasnt overly pricey and there was a large menu of items to choose from. I'm not sure if I trust the cook enough to buy a steak there, but hey, everyone has a bad day once in a while. Either way, there are plenty of other things to choose from...like beer. Overall Food was no better than eating at Applebees but paying Capital Grill prices. you would not go to a minor league baseball game and expect to pay Fenway Park prices would you? The wait is long, but is it really that surprising considering how popular this place is? It's better quality food than Hooters or Buffalo Wild Wings, the beer list is extensive, and they don't take reservations for parties of 8 or less. (For what it's worth, if the people who gripe about the wait would just leave, then I wouldn't have to wait at all...) Drink prices are comparable to what you'd expect in the city as are the food prices. No huge difference compared to the Fenway or Dedham locations, but major thumbs down to not serving Sam Adams Boston Brick Red. I only had one food issue here before when they first opened - my pepper-crusted gorgonzola burger was still raw on the inside. Not only was the kitchen and the management staff incredibly apologetic, but they explained that they had an issue with the stove, then proceeded to cook me a whole new dinner and comp the meal in its entirety. I would say it's worth the wait. Be sensible and get there a little earlier than the rush. If you get a buzzer, it's not like it's in the middle of nowhere - you're in a plaza. Go walk around. One of the best beer selections that I have come across in MA. The beer list is a solid five pound book, so get ready to do some reading if you are not coming in with specific tastes. I have always had a good experience with the team-based service. You seem to have a primary server, but other servers will stop by your table and drop off food and drinks on a regular basis, so you are never left with an empty plate or glass. The food is pretty good as well. I am fond of the taco menu. My only grip is some of the items seem to be a tad overpriced. Also a solid spot if you are into sports. They have a good spread of TVs that are usually showing whatever relevant sporting events are on at the time. Overall, a good dining experience becomes exceptional if you are a beer drinker. Decided to try this place as mu husband and I had not been to. The place is huge with a LARGE Bar and tons of Tv's. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken with Potato Pancakes. I thought the pancakes would be like a latke, nope just like a regular pancake. Could not taste the sweet potato just the cinnamon. Chicken was great, moist with a light coating. My husband had a BBQ Bacon Burger with fries. He said it was ok, a lil overdone as he asked for medium and it was pretty much well done. We did have the Spinach Dip appetizer with Pita Chips, very good, I just wish it was a lil cheesier. I would definitely get agin tho. I did not realize this place had such an extensive beer list! We were never asked if this was our first visit, wish we had as I would have asked about doing a sampler of beers. As it was I had to flag the waiter down to just try one. Tried the Dogfish Breakfast Coffee Stout with a hint of bacon and Maple. Had I known about it earlier I would have ordered a pint! Wicked yummy. Not sure they even need a review since everybody seems to love and recommend this place. I've been here at least five times while I'm away on business. I've tried the burgers, soup (French onion) and the Mac and cheese, which is amazing!! The beer selection is great but their speciality cocktails are excellent as well. Last time I had the strawberry fields and it was the best drink I've had in a long time. The only problem is that it can get really, really crowded. At 7:00 on a Thursday night I wasn't even able to find one single stool at the bar and ended up leaving to find a place where I could sit down and enjoy my meal. read more

Yard house Lynnfield gets a solid 3 stars from me. Beer list: tons of taps ranging from yuck to awesome. Most of the stuff in their actual menu is run-of-the-mill but their rotating chalkboard has some killer seasonal stuff and belgians on there. Food: Deviled eggs- 5 stars. I freaking love deviled eggs and these are good. But why are there only 3 halves? What happened to the 4th? Their menu is so large that nothing is amazing (except for the deviled eggs) but the food is good, pairs nicely with beer, is reasonably priced. Best thing? They have a ton of veggie options and delicious Gardein brand orange chicken over brown rice. SO good and such a treat to have someone else make it for me. The bad? It took us 2 months to actually get to try the place because there was always an hour and a half plus wait when we went. This place is crazy, you wait forever for a table (at least on weekend nights), the drinks are decent (but a bit overpriced). We were a party of 4 that ordered a bunch of apps and desserts. The truffle fries and the desserts were the big winners. I would go back just for these things. But yes, be prepared to wait. I met my friends are the bar and it was all I could do to get the bartender's attention to order a drink. It was busy, I am not pushy but they will only notice you if you are pushy. Don't expect a normal bar experience were you order a drink, finish it and get asked if you want another. It won't happen.
