Finally got a chance to check out this Yard House location. It's a great space and perfect to stop by after shopping in the mall. Unfortunately, you can't access the restaurant through the mall. They have a large food selection with a little bit of everything. The drinks were great! I recommend any of the burgers. They were juicy and cooked to perfection.

Yard House is a chain of casual dining restaurants that opened in Long Beach, California in December 1996. It was founded by business partners Steele Platt, Steve Reynolds, Tom Yelenick, and William Wollrab. Platt previously owned a bar-restaurant operation in Denver (CO) known as the 'Boiler Room'. Some elements from that restaurant (including a large beer selection, "pub grub", and classic rock being played in the foreground) would be reused for a new concept. The new partners had a vision to create "the world's greatest tap room". The name 'Yard House' was chosen as a reference to yard glasses (designed to hand to stagecoach drivers in 17th century Great Britain). Today the chain features nearly 90 locations that all have over 100 beers on draft as well as a variety of different food dishes. Platt and Reynolds are the only founders that are still with the company. My family and I recently visited the Yard House at The SoNo Collection in Norwalk. This particular location (the only one in Connecticut) opened in 2021. My wife received a gift card to any Darden Restaurant (of which Yard House is a member), so we decided to go one day for lunch. We loved the interior which was spacious and aesthetically pleasing. We also really liked the classic rock tunes that played throughout our visit. For food, we selected some items off of the Kid's Menu for my two sons. My older son had "Fried Chicken Tenders" (white meat chicken breast strips, buttermilk ranch dressing) with Fries, while my younger son had the "Mac & Cheese" (elbow macaroni, cheddar cheese sauce). They were both very happy with their plates. My wife had the "Nashville Hot Chicken" (spicy sweet slaw, white cheddar, garlic aioli, toasted brioche bun) with Sweet Potato Fries; she said it was very crispy and flavorful. I ordered the "Beer-Battered Fish & Chips" (whitefish, house fries, malt vinegar slaw, roasted jalapeño tartar, malt vinegar aioli) and I enjoyed every bite. Obviously I had to order the signature half-yard glass of beer. I had it filled with New England Brewing's "Fuzzy Baby Ducks" IPA (one of my go-tos). My wife enjoyed a glass of Ace Cider's "Guava Cider". I was really impressed by Yard House's beer selection. I was expecting mostly macro-brewery offerings, but most of it was craft (and a lot of it was local too!) Overall, we had an excellent experience at Yard House and we look forward to returning!

    Steak Nachos

Ordered Steak Nachos, and this is what I received: stale, dry, and barely any flavor. I mean look at it !!! Would you eat this? Where are your standards, Yard House? Do the cooks look at what they prepare? Unbelievable. Rating -3 out of 10

Only of the only places that had seating and no cover charge for the Super Bowl. We got there around 5:30 and stayed until halftime. The staff was super friendly and never rushed us (or anyone else). Food was excellent. Menu had something for every palate.

Chicken fingers- side of fried. Half off during happy hour. I ate about 3 fingers and some fries before i took the pic. I was hungry haha

Big fan of the Yard House. They have a few spots and its one of the better chain restaurants out there. Great vibe Plenty of TVs Good menu lots of options Decent HAPPY HOUR (Sun-Thur 3-6 then 9-close) ---- HALF OFF CERTAIN APPS $2 OFF DRNKS I have been here several times. Just writing about it now. Located in the palisades mall which in itself has a-lot of food options. But the yard house has a certain live vibe and the food is above average. The AMC movie theater is right across from this place. So definitely a good option for dinner and a movie. Got there for the happy hour. (Sun-Thur 3-6 then 9-close). Most of the apps r on the happy hour menu and are half price. And the app portions are a very healthy portion. Coming from a big guy. You can definitely be satisfied with a couple of apps. I ordered the: 1. CHICKEN FINGERS, they were real chicken tenders fried up. You could definitely taste that they were made fresh and were not sitting under some hot lamp. Crispy and juicy. Just how a tender is supposed to taste. They also come with a side of fries with several fries upgrades if u wanted to switch it up (sweet potato fries or garlic truffle parmesan fries) 2. POKE NACHOS with a spicy truffle sauce. I enjoyed the tenders but these were the highlight of my meal. They were fried wontons disguised as the nachos, paired up with the freshly diced tuna, topped with scallions cilantro and that spicy truffle sauce really made the dish pop. The wontons were so light and super crispy. Wonderful dish. 3. CHICKEN NACHOS. My friend had them and they were very flavorful too huge portion good to share. The place was very clean and friendly staff. Always a must go when i come to the palisades mall.

First time visiting Yard House came here for a friends birthday dinner must say that the food is the typical burgers fries, pizza Thai bar the vibe and atmosphere was very good, but found that the music was very loud and really couldn't hear myself think or speak. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive Always check up on us to make sure that we were OK. Our dinner came out pretty quickly, even though it was a packed house, the wait time was pretty quick. We were able to get a table as soon as we walked in the food was your typical bar food but it was actually pretty good if you're ever in the area definitely would recommend this place for something quick to eat definitely family friendly.

We were quickly greeted and seated when we walked in. Our server Nikia came over and was very friendly and attentive. We ordered our drinks and apps that were both good. (Calamari and 4 cheese spinach dip). For dinner we ordered wings, salmon and a Turkey club. Nokia nicely came back over and informed me that there was no Turkey left. I had a hard decision to make, as I was set on that. She did help with other options and then she mentioned they said they can do the club with grilled chicken. hesitantly I agreed to that. Anyway, it was very hard to eat, as the bread was breaking apart. I ate 1/4 of it. Brought the rest home. But, threw it out today. There was literally a sliver of chicken on each piece. I should have taken a pic. We would go back based on the service we had from Nikia, but I would not order that sandwich again.

I've been coming back to this place for an already and it is definitely one of my favorites in the area. This time I got the Poke Nachos and really enjoyed it. As usual, the customer service is always top notch. I happened to drop my nachos while I was moving from the bar area to my table! I was offered a new dish despite me dropping the appetizer. Thank you for being kind to the team on duty.

Great experience at Yard House again. Me and my friend came to the bar for food and drinks. It was moderately busy. We were able to get a seat at the bar pretty quickly though. They cleaned up the area very quickly. Our bartender K was awesome. We ordered Korean Ribeye, 20oz Bone-in Ribeye, 10 Crispy Traditional Wings (5 Korean bbq and 5 whiskey). Both steaks were good, alittle fatty but no bad and well seasoned. The broccoli was little over cooked, but the chili garlic fries were so good and crispy. I had the espresso martini and it was very good too. Highly recommend if you into that type of drink. It was my first time trying that drink and won't be my last. I can not say enough wonderful things about Yard House, I will be back again. Oh and there is a parking lot attached to the Sono Collection mall, which is a huge plus.

One word about this Yardhouse, wow. I went to this yardhouse on a tuesday around 12:45 and it was quite empty but it had wonderful decor and music playing however i'm sure it would be much more lively and festive with more people were here. The food was delectable, I got the caesar salad and the penne a la vodka and it was amazing! The salad had a lot of dressing in my opinion but for others who tried it they said it was lovely. The other people who I went with got the brussel sprouts and the onion ring tower and they said it was lovely the tables fav was the brussel sprouts. Overall an amazing lunch and experience.

We had to ask for a bigger table and was led towards the end. Very interesting menu, we had the pu'er tea, which is not very commonly offered in the Chinese restaurants in the area. Love the teapot presentation and overall the branding effort. We tried to order the soup dumpling but was told something wasn't working properly and it's going to take over an hour so next time. Got wontons in chili oil, love the flavor. The mushu pork, a little bit too sweet for me. And the beef chow fun, just can't go wrong with that, and the szichuan pot with cumin lamp. I think this more authentic Chinese but my husband felt the lamb was too oily. I requested to get the little cute cat cup for my daughter's lemonade order and they said yes, so it was a very cute touch. Very happy with the visit definitely a lot of potential we will be back.

We started off with the chili oil dumplings which were super flavorful! For entrees we got the Mongolian beef and the shrimp fried rice. Fried rice was my favorite -- didn't need any soy sauce or duck sauce bc it had enough flavor on its own. For drinks I got the lychee drink which was on the sweeter side for my personal taste. Overall, loved my experience and can't wait to go back to try more menu items.

I'm no foodie but I am Chinese/Japanese and can appreciate finer things in life when I see it. This place meet and exceeded my expectations. The wonderful speak-easy tamaki-ya room in the back is warmly lit and held at a nice volume, much quieter than the izakaya bar in the front. For small bites we had the Beet n Hijiki salad (highly recommend!), Agedashi tofu, and Torched Maine uni. For hand-rolls I had the Spanish Mackerel, Hokkaido Scallops, Ocean Trout, BBQ Eal & Foie Gras, and Cucumber ume. My wife had the Maine Uni, Hamachi, and Botan Ebi. Everything was good, but there were quite a few that were very good, and there were two that, for me, were the best that I've ever had in recent memory. For the Spanish Mackerel Chef Taibe put an interesting spin on it by topping it off with a traditional Chinese ginger and scallion garnish used in a tender chicken dish. It works, it balances out the briny taste of Spanish Mackerel... which is great... unless you LOVE the briny, savory, mineral, metallic, umami taste of fresh Spanish Mackerel :) The Hokkaido Scallops was, by quite a large margin, the best scallop dish I've ever had. The tender sweetness of the fresh scallop combined with a brown butter kewpie (how American!) and yuzu tobiko sauce swimmingly. Texture, temperature, taste, all perfect. I like eel and I love Unaju. But by far the biggest surprise was the BBQ Eal & Foie Gras (see pic). This dish alone warrants a culinary course. On the face of it, bbq, eel, foie gras all sets you up for something rich, filling, heavy. But when I bit into the unassuming hand roll, it was the lightest bite of Japanese rice/seafood/seaweed/liver/sauce combo I've ever had. Turns out Chef Taibe prepared the sauce from scratch using five+ different spices, and prepared the foie gras au torchon. I could go on, but suffice to say, this was one of the best bites I've ever had. By contrast, I thought I was going to close out with the cucumber ume roll, but compared to the eel and foie gras, the ume actually felt more overpowering. Perhaps if they cut back on the generous amount of ume paste... (Worthy mention: Chef Taibe presents the nori in a separate envelope. This seemingly simple step is crucial to the taste and mouthfeel of the hand roll. It provides a wonderful fresh crisp crunch to every bite and it does indeed make a difference. He mentioned he sources a special nori but I forgot the details, just know that it's really good) My wife loves uni, and I'll let her describe her experience (which she won't) but it was so good she had to order a second one. As if you need more convincing, we had a great experience and I think you will too. Bravo Chef, well done

The cocktail program is seriously one of the best in the area. Creative without being gimmicky, balanced, and clearly inspired by Japanese ingredients and technique. Every drink feels thoughtful and well executed -- the kind of place where you actually want to work your way through the menu. The food is where it really shines. The chef-owner's love of Japanese cuisine comes through in every detail. The yakitori program is outstanding and deeply traditional -- using all parts of the chicken the way it's done in Japan. It's respectful, intentional, and absolutely delicious. You don't often see that level of authenticity and execution locally. The bar bites are some of the best around. The fried chicken sando is one of my personal favorites -- perfectly crispy, juicy, balanced, and craveable. And the ramen? No one can hold a candle to it. The broth is deeply flavorful and layered, the noodles are spot on, and every topping feels purposeful. It's the kind of bowl you think about the next day. Perhaps the best kept secret in all of Norwalk is the back room -- the elegant Temaki-Ya. Tucked away behind an unmarked entrance, this intimate hand-roll bar feels almost like discovering a hidden Japanese speakeasy. The atmosphere is quiet and refined, the kind of place that's perfect for a special date night or a memorable evening with friends. The temaki (hand rolls) are beautifully composed, with thoughtful ingredient combinations that balance texture, flavor, and visual appeal. What makes this place special is the dual experience -- lively izakaya vibes in the front, elegant hand-roll bar in the back -- all tied together by serious culinary skill and genuine hospitality. Norwalk is lucky to have this spot.
