My friend recommended to come here to celebrate my husband's birthday. I was originally going to Beirut but I am so glad I came here. The food here was so much tastier. I brought my own cake so they could put a sparkler and put the odd sounding "happy birthday " song on. That was the 2nd best part of the night. The delicious food is #1 ; it makes up for the poor service. The chicken chops were excellent and the kibbeh were delicious. The baba ghanoush was good as well. The mixed grill was good- especially the kebab but the beef of lamb shish were tough to cut and chew. Next time, I'll only order the kebab. My friend ordered the kebab kush-lush and it was so good. The tomato like chutney and kebab were tasty. She ordered the penne pasta for her 8 year old and the sauce in that was very good as well. Service lacked in the fact that waiters don't "wait" on you and coffee came after 20 minutes. We were waving down various waiters since they kept forgetting to bring stuff we asked for or took way too long to get it. I made reservations yet they asked my party 5 times when other guests would arrive. That was rude. Yet the positives overcome the negatives! The food was excellent and worth the long wait and the appetizers did come out on time. The younger staff served with a smile and that was appreciated. When the surprise birthday cake came out with the sparkler (free) on top, everyone stopped to sing and watch. It was sweet. They offered to cut the cake. The slices were too big (most of us couldn't finish the slice) so next time I'll cut the cake myself. All in all, the food is 5 stars. Service is a 3 but I would definitely come here again and again. Although this is a shiha smoking lounge, and we had two older kids with us, I called in advance make sure we had reservations away from the smoke. So I've been here a few times during these strange pandemic times. Both times were great experiences so I'm sharing them here. COVID precautions... as far as this, they don't seem very careful. The staff aren't all wearing masks or wearing them properly. They do have hand sanitizer upon arrival. They also scan you for a temperature check as you walk in. I just don't understand the lack of mask thing but whatever. You don't have to sit next to others as there is a lot of room in the restaurant, especially if you arrive on the early side like we did. Service.. but too bad. They were very friendly and attentive. Everything arrived very quickly.. maybe a little too quickly, but I will absolutely but complain about that. Food... we ordered a few things. I have had the hummus, the babaganoush, and the mouhammara. All really good! As far as entrees, highly recommend the chicken kabob and the lamb shish kabob. This only gets 3 stars because of the food, but as for everything else it was horrible. Stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner and there was only 2 tables including ours. The service was horrible, food is overpriced, and no one there looked like they had any sense of urgency. Every time we needed something for our meal we had to call someone over and even then that took long as well.
