Wow, stunning & beautiful place. Start off ambiance was great, it was quiet and early since I came here for lunch but love how welcoming they are. Service was great and wonderful, the young lady always checked up to make sure everything was great. Food was so tasty & had flavor to it! I had ordered octopus with hummus, it was very well cooked & I had to have pita on the side. I also ordered shish kebab filet mignon & as well very well cooked, not overcooked or dry at all. The rice was plain, which was okay for me. The onions definitely made up for it to combine it together. To top it off I also got fried calamari, it was a little bit chewy overall still had flavor to it. My go to drink was a mint lemonade that they make it into a slushie. I never had a mint lemonade so the taste to the drink was new to me but I loved it! You could bring your own liquor becusse they do not sell that. Overall, an excellent experience. The food was amazing and the ambiance was top-tier. The place is beautifully done with a super cool, upbeat atmosphere, great music, and a live DJ mixing that really sets the tone. Was taken here on a surprise date by my girlfriend. Upon arriving the ambiance was set with an incredibly chill and beautiful interior decor. The design is well thought out and visually attractive. Upon being seated we had a waitress that we were not sure about. The service lacked due to missing attention. Refills of water came in stretched intervals. Unserving the table should have been done in a better way The biggest negative was hair that was found on the toushka. I don't think there was any apology or remorse, just would you like another one. Came here on a Wednesday night. I was in the mood for Mediterranean and wanted to try a new spot. I found this place through google, cross referenced Yelp, saw positive reviews and decided to give this place a shot. Walked in and host sat us down. The place is dim and has a warm vibe to the place. Started off with the grilled octopus ($23) and it was very soft and tasty which also comes with hummus. The pita bread that came with it was also soft and warm. For my main, I got the chicken kebab ($27) and everything was delicious including the grilled veggies that came with it. For dessert, got the baklava which comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and Kanafeh, both really good. Especially the kanafeh which had cheese inside it. This spot was selected by my kids for my bday celebration. We did not have a good experience at all. For a party of 7 we were seated smack in front the door which every-time it opened we froze! There was no sense of welcome, the food was highly over salted and lacked any flavor, their branzino fish was so overcooked and felt like eating a block of salt, the hummus was decent but the fatoush was such huge chunks it was as if you had to make your own salad , pita was stale, chicken burger and fries were awful, there was live music which was just so loud you couldn't hear yourself. First of all, don't order the Greek salad. There is nothing Greek about it. There were maybe a few leaves of romaine lettuce, but the salad was loaded with a ton of red onions, tomatoes, and red peppers. I didn't order a red pepper and onion salad . Visited for a birthday celebration and loved my time here, minus the service. It really would've been 10/10 but the service was soo slow and I don't get why because the space is small and they had multiple waiters. I feel like they just need training. Besides that, my group enjoyed the vibey intimate decor. There's a cute neon sign by the bathroom. We LOVED the dj's music choice. As the night went on it turned into a club vibe with middle east music, mixed with spanish. We were moved from a small table to a big one early in the reservation, Not sure why but it worked perfectly. By the time the food finally came we had a lot of space. Had an amazing experience last night for dinner at Rola's. Food: unfortunately I did not get to take any pictures, but me and some friends ordered multiple appetizers, including sweet potatoes, baba ganoush, hummus, labneh, muhamarra, and toushka. I especially enjoyed the toushka, muhamarra, hummus, and thought the pita was especially good. For dinner, I ordered the chicken kebab, which was super flavorful, and I thought the rice was probably some of the lightest rice I ever ate which was a nice change of pace. Aesthetic: beautiful location with a slightly dark, calm setting. I was laughing because they had some house/trans music which seems a little out of place, but I actually enjoyed it. I do not recommend this place for the price. Restaurant experience is just as important as food delivery and neither delivered. We are celebrating a birthday and drove out from nyc to nj and the waitress/server was non-existent. There were only 3 of the 8 seatings filled when we came in. We are a party of 6 (4 adults, two teens). Here is my grief with this place: 1. Main dishes came out cold. 2. I ordered a salad with my main course (the mixed platter) I didn't get the salad. I sent back the main course and asked for my salad. When I got my salad, they took 30 minutes to bring back my main course. Everyone finished eating and I was waiting for my food while desert menu was being presented. When I got my food, IT WASNT WHAT I ORDERED. Then they charged BOTH orders and needed to have it pointed out to them and charged auto gratuity. $66 for horrendous service. 3. We got drinks and a bottle of water. THERE IS NO WATER GIVEN AT ALL after. If you choke, you're choking. $3 dollars for a can of soda. They charged $10 for Saratoga water. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything else or refills and had to ask for some 3x. Imagine even getting the wrong soda can. 4. This place is hot and cold all at the same time. They crank the heat up then crank the ac. They can't control the temperature of the establishment. Then the music kept being skipped like if someone was playing music for themselves rather than the room. 5. When they realized they messed up the service, they alienated the table and stood away doubling down on the poor service. We were celebrating a birthday and couldn't get the waitress to do the candle light for the birthday. I eat Mediterranean food in NYC all the time and their service is immaculate, but this place is NOT IT. Save your money and find a better place. 1. Good flavor but who cares if the food is COLD 2. Bad service/help and NON EXISTENT table service for a small place 3. Overpriced food for portions 12/22 update: forgot to add they clean their tables with windex original blue used on windows. Came to Rola's on my lunch break one day with my wife. The both of us had not gone out to eat alone in such a long time. We took the perfect opportunity one day to go out to eat. We selected this place because we have never been and it seemed like the ambiance was nice for the occasion. We arrived and there was literally 2 tables being occupied, one was a take-out order and the person was just waiting and the other was kids finishing up. After a few minutes, we were alone the entire time. Food: The waitress came to take our order, we ordered 2 lunches, one was the steak in pita and the other was the chicken wrap. I have to say, the steak was definitely very reasonable with a hefty portion of french fries. We also ordered the fried cheese roll and a dip. The flavor was great, I would definitely recommend the steak over the chicken though. The chicken had a mint or some type of spice that lingered in the palate. Staff: The waitress was very nice and she was very attentive. Our water glass was always filled and she made sure we had everything we needed. Upon departure we had a nice chat with the waitress, which turns out that she was the owner of the establishment. We stopped in on a Sunday at around 1:30 with a party of seven (including a stroller) for my Mom's birthday lunch. It was a little busy so luckily they were still able to accommodate the stroller. The lebneh was my favorite -Fattoush Salad (Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Radish, Mint, Red Pepper, Toasted Bread) - the dressing was good. I always like a nice, fresh salad to go with my Mediterranean food -Grilled Octopus - everyone loved this dish. It was served on top of some hummus. The octopus was nice and tender -Rola's Mixed Grill (Filet Mignon, Kofta Kebab, Chicken Kebab) - the filet mignon was the best. We ended up ordering just the filet mignon platter afterwards. The kofta and chicken were a bit dry -Mixed Shawarma - this isn't the shaved shawarma you're thinking of. It's just strips of beef and chicken, which was a little tough. It was disappointing since we were expecting the thin slices of meat -Falafel Wrap - this was mostly filled with lettuce and tomato and it didn't seem like there was much falafel inside. Served with french fries Overall, I would say the food is still just okay - similar to my takeout experience. I was hoping that dine-in would be better. It's also a little pricey for what you get, so my last opinion still stands - If you are looking for really good/reasonably priced middle eastern cuisine, make the drive to Paterson. Intimate and cool vibe little restaurant we tried while in Woodridge. We did not have rez for a Sat nite and when the waitress approached us to ask if we had, she turned away and shook her head. Another young lady came out and said we could have a table if we were to be finished in 90 mins. We agreed. Menus were iPads and we ordered appetizers, the hot hummus (I liked, my wife did not) and the Mediterranean salad (very good and fresh). I had the mixed Shawarma which was amply portioned slightly overcooked. My wife had the filet mignon and asked for medium. Came out dried and well done. When cubing meat , kitchen need to be aware it cooks very fast. It looked like it was reheated. My wife doesn't like to complain (unless I cook...LOL) so she muddled through a few pieces. We ordered and shared the Branzino whole fish with rice and salad . Our meal was good and fresh but the fish could have been cooked longer. The customer service here is amazing. It was our first experience here and is such a cozy place and beautiful decoration. There were some accommodations that we asked for since there were 3 of us and my aunt has diabetes so the waitress was very understanding and nice about it. Some other places we been to servers tend to be annoyed whenever we asked for certain accommodation or changes to our food order. So thank you for that. Absolutely horrible! The food came out cold. No one came out to give us our drinks. We had to ask twice for the drinks. We sent back one of the dishes we ordered to be reheated and the waitress came back with a completely different order. The restaurant had the audacity to attempt to charge us for the plate that was sent back and the wrong order given to us. The dessert was over cooked. No one checked on us during dinner to ask if we needed any refills on drinks or any additional order. The restaurant also charged gratuity on the bill regardless of the horrible service provided. A reservation was easily made on the same day via Yelp for this past Monday for dinner. Upon arrival at a nice, upscale interior vibe, we were greeted by the host/owner, Rola, and got a table right away with a nice, fresh flower adding a pleasant touch. With another couple a few tables down, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The menu offered Turkish cuisine with hot and cold appetizers, salads, hot grills, and desserts that were perfectly priced. As appetizers, we opted for Toushka (grilled pita stuffed with cheese and meat) , Lebneh (creamy yogurt, walnuts, garlic, and fresh herbs) accompanied by pita breads & Grape Leaves. For our entree, we decided on the Lamb Kebab and the Chicken Kebab. Unfortunately, it was possible to have an off night. We were disappointed with the food, as it was bland and needed seasonings. We went for lunch on a Monday. Fabulous food and the chef was amazing. She came out to greet us with a smile. She gifted us mint tea, a pastry, and told us about all of the future events going on. When I arrived I had to find parking on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. My food was ready and I paid and left. When I dug in the tilapia was very bland. Flew in from Boston for a meeting. Found the restaurant on google search. Thought we were going to a usual Middle eastern food place, but to our surprise it was a great experience . They had this unusual Red dipping bowl for the pita bread. It was an appetizer called Mohammara which was very tasty, made with tomato sauce and pomegranate molasses walnuts and chili . I had not seen this before at other middle eastern restaurants. I don't typically like Baba Ghanouj but found this very tasty as well. The chicken kabobs were very moist and delicious. And the desert was Kanafeh which was delicious. On discussion with the chef, everything is made on the premises including the pita bread. Would highly recommend it for the foodie in you. We are a 13 people to celebrate my daughter birthday. They had the table set up for 12 people. I have Allergy to black pepper all there food having black pepper in it. So they gave me tabula made for me with no black pepper and French fry the does not taste good it's the kind of a cheap quality French fry I buy a whole entire bag for $2 from the farmer market. They gave me about two potatoes chopped as French fry for $15 and they don't give you any napkin they don't give you ketchup. They don't give you salt. They don't give you bread. I kept on asking for everything , they have empty cups on table but they don't want to put water and then when the bell came it says they charge 20% gratitude but because of us they charge us 25% gratitude total of $150 gratitude either they didn't like us or that's the way they they serve the people, they were about to charge us for the air we breathe, usually when we go to Arabic restaurant or Mediterranean they have on the table olives with pickles and bread as soon as you walk in even if you didn't order anything but not them. I didn't like that oh and I forgot about the wine bottle opener they charge us $15 to open it each bottle like if they want to do so much to open the bottle they were charging us left and right for every single thing and more I post the receipt maybe later read more

The meat could have been juicier and seasoned a little more but the rice and salad it came with were good. Their house salad was actually very very very good. Very fresh and the dressing was perfect. The salmon had same feel as the kabobs...a little dry and needed a bit more seasoning, but still solid. I asked for the fries well-done and they did try, but the fries ended up being more soggy and burnt than crispy. I think that's probably a result of using not fresh fries? Not sure but I would pass on the fries next time. The bread the dishes came with were a big hit with the group. They were generous with their sauces which was appreciated. The owner made some substitutions for us which was nice. We returned again and our experience was not good. The waiter, who apparently was new and not well trained, totally messed up our very simple order. We stayed away from Rola's for a while but decided to return again to give it another shot since we live close enough to walk there. We ordered chicken shawarma and mixed shawarma. The chicken was super salty and seemed hard as if it was pre-cooked and not made fresh. The steak was chewy. Also I asked if I could have my chicken shawarma over hummus since I do not prefer rice. I was told by the server that they would not be able to do that. Granted there is a beef shawarma on the menu over hummus. I really wanted to like this place and make it one of our go to restaurants but I do not think we will return. read more
