Was taken here on a surprise date by my girlfriend. Upon arriving the ambiance was set with an incredibly chill and beautiful interior decor. The design is well thought out and visually attractive. Upon being seated we had a waitress that we were not sure about. The service lacked due to missing attention. Refills of water came in stretched intervals. Unserving the table should have been done in a better way The biggest negative was hair that was found on the toushka. I don't think there was any apology or remorse, just would you like another one. It wasn't on the house and nor did a manager come with an apology. On top of that it felt like we were being rushed.

Came here on a Wednesday night. I was in the mood for Mediterranean and wanted to try a new spot. I found this place through google, cross referenced Yelp, saw positive reviews and decided to give this place a shot. Walked in and host sat us down. The place is dim and has a warm vibe to the place. Started off with the grilled octopus ($23) and it was very soft and tasty which also comes with hummus. The pita bread that came with it was also soft and warm. For my main, I got the chicken kebab ($27) and everything was delicious including the grilled veggies that came with it. For dessert, got the baklava which comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and Kanafeh, both really good. Especially the kanafeh which had cheese inside it. Overall had a great experience and I would highly recommend Rola's if you're in the mood for Mediterranean food. * Street parking * BYOB * Staff sings happy birthday in their native language upon request

This spot was selected by my kids for my bday celebration. We did not have a good experience at all. For a party of 7 we were seated smack in front the door which every-time it opened we froze! There was no sense of welcome, the food was highly over salted and lacked any flavor, their branzino fish was so overcooked and felt like eating a block of salt, the hummus was decent but the fatoush was such huge chunks it was as if you had to make your own salad , pita was stale, chicken burger and fries were awful, there was live music which was just so loud you couldn't hear yourself. Its BYOB but they will not open it for you. We brought our own cake and they took half! Lol not a recommendation for me. Esthetics are nice though.

Visited for a birthday celebration and loved my time here, minus the service. It really would've been 10/10 but the service was soo slow and I don't get why because the space is small and they had multiple waiters. I feel like they just need training. Besides that, my group enjoyed the vibey intimate decor. There's a cute neon sign by the bathroom. We LOVED the dj's music choice. As the night went on it turned into a club vibe with middle east music, mixed with spanish. We were moved from a small table to a big one early in the reservation, Not sure why but it worked perfectly. By the time the food finally came we had a lot of space. We ordered the baba ghanoush and hummus appetizer. No complaints. Pita was soft how I like and dips had flavor. For meals we ordered chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, and the mixed platter that has filet mignon, Kofta Keba, and Chicken Kebab. We finished it all! We even started dancing in the little space we had because there was another birthday party. Everyone there had a celebration it seemed. Overall great time!

Brought family over to try Mediterranean food for the first time and the staff was very friendly in introducing the cuisine to us. We also met the owner there, who was attentive to our experience and the overall environment in the restaurant. This would be a good date spot as the interior is intimate and classy. We all enjoyed the food as our introduction to the cuisine. Also the dessert kanafeh is a must try!

Came to Rola's on my lunch break one day with my wife. The both of us had not gone out to eat alone in such a long time. We took the perfect opportunity one day to go out to eat. We selected this place because we have never been and it seemed like the ambiance was nice for the occasion. We arrived and there was literally 2 tables being occupied, one was a take-out order and the person was just waiting and the other was kids finishing up. After a few minutes, we were alone the entire time. Food: The waitress came to take our order, we ordered 2 lunches, one was the steak in pita and the other was the chicken wrap. I have to say, the steak was definitely very reasonable with a hefty portion of french fries. We also ordered the fried cheese roll and a dip. The flavor was great, I would definitely recommend the steak over the chicken though. The chicken had a mint or some type of spice that lingered in the palate. Staff: The waitress was very nice and she was very attentive. Our water glass was always filled and she made sure we had everything we needed. Upon departure we had a nice chat with the waitress, which turns out that she was the owner of the establishment. Highly recommended if you're a local looking for a good Mediterranean restaurant.

I had ordered takeout out from here before and thought it was okay. This time, I decided to try it again but dined in. We stopped in on a Sunday at around 1:30 with a party of seven (including a stroller) for my Mom's birthday lunch. It was a little busy so luckily they were still able to accommodate the stroller. The inside space is very warm and beautiful, and looks like a nice spot for date night. For this lunch, we decided to order a bunch of things to share: -Rola's Maza (Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Mohamara, Lebneh with pita bread) - it doesn't come with a lot of bread, so you may want to order an extra side of it. The lebneh was my favorite -Fattoush Salad (Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Radish, Mint, Red Pepper, Toasted Bread) - the dressing was good. I always like a nice, fresh salad to go with my Mediterranean food -Grilled Octopus - everyone loved this dish. It was served on top of some hummus. The octopus was nice and tender -Rola's Mixed Grill (Filet Mignon, Kofta Kebab, Chicken Kebab) - the filet mignon was the best. We ended up ordering just the filet mignon platter afterwards. The kofta and chicken were a bit dry -Mixed Shawarma - this isn't the shaved shawarma you're thinking of. It's just strips of beef and chicken, which was a little tough. It was disappointing since we were expecting the thin slices of meat -Falafel Wrap - this was mostly filled with lettuce and tomato and it didn't seem like there was much falafel inside. Served with french fries Overall, I would say the food is still just okay - similar to my takeout experience. I was hoping that dine-in would be better. It's also a little pricey for what you get, so my last opinion still stands - If you are looking for really good/reasonably priced middle eastern cuisine, make the drive to Paterson. Tip - BYOB

Stumbled upon this place randomly, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was stunning, and the food tasted so fresh. The staff and owner were both very kind. A bit on the pricier side, but worth it. Would come back here if I'm ever back in the neighborhood~!

We got the grilled lobster, salmon and lamb chop. Food was very good! But the best was the staff and owner was so nice! The restaurant also looked very nice and had nice music that was not too loud

Yum! Thrilled to have come across this amazing restaurant. Food is top notch, service and ambiance are great too. Loved the mint lemonade to start. Dips, Filet mignon, chicken kebabs are all tasty. Don't forget to order dessert! I look forward to my next meal at Rola's.

Chill vibes...music is upbeat. Atmosphere is warm and inviting and I feel like I'm in NY without the hassle of getting there. Such fresh and delicious food- I think it's the best Mediterranean food around. I feel satisfyingly full but healthy at the same time. The waitress was wonderful and attentive. Spoke to the owner and she is really beautiful and friendly. The food is fresh and came out quick. It's a BYOB. Looking forward to coming many more times!

Service was great . On the menu the labneh was about 9 bucks and they charged us 11 on the bill so make sure to check your receipt . It tasted okay . I was sad that on Yelp it said they had Shepherds salad and it wasn't on the menu. The Greek salad had balsamic vinaigrette on it like WhAT why??? I had the rolas mixed grill & that came with rice ( had no flavor ).lentil soup I also did not love . BUT the meat all of it was BOMB delicious and cooked to perfection !!! My sister had the shrimp and it was also amazing !!

Sofia's is absolutely among those quality restaurants that should be considered the pride and lifeblood of Hasbrouck Heights. Easily one of the nicest and most family oriented Greek spots I've been to in recent memory. I strongly encourage anyone in the area to give it a shot and bring a group to dine in. The only negative I'd say is that the price can be a little over the top for some of the meal items, however, given the ambiance, the service, the quality and the experiences I've had there, it's a fair price. From cooking to salad dressings, Greek olive oil made from lemon, basil, and oregano is their liquid gold. Located on a busy Boulevard in the heart of Hasbrouck Heights, I finally got the opportunity to stop in at this BYOB family-owned/operated establishment. Upon entering for lunch after 4 years, Sofia's Mediterranean Grill, named after the owner's mom, I was greeted by the staff. I got a booth, immediately knowing how they get crowded. The inside evoked a cozy and warm vibe with Greek music playing throughout. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting. Their menu features an array of traditional Mediterranean dishes, offering a variety of soups, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, meats from the grill, seafood cooked various ways, and entrees cooked from the oven. I decided on the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The food was authentic, fresh using the finest ingredients, delicious, and prepared simply, which is exactly what I was looking for. The portion was healthy. The service is always friendly and welcoming. I got to connect with the owner, Nick, a fellow Astorian, to catch up about the old neighborhood. The price was reasonable. If one's craving the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean, then look no further. One doesn't need to book a flight to Greece to enjoy authentic meals.

Turkish cuisine is a unique combination of flavors, spices, and herbs developed over thousands of years, influenced by the Central Asian nomads and Arabic, Persian, Italian, French, and Eastern European cultures. While New York has some great Turkish food if one knows where to look, most of it leaves some room for improvement. Could Jersey be better? The town of Carlstadt has mainly residential private homes, with a spattering of condos and garden apartments. The main shopping area is all of about three blocks long on both sides of the street. Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.
