This is a wonderful pediatric dental practice. I knew to expect a fabulous waiting room, since my…read moredaughter-in-law had sent pictures on a previous visit. But actually experiencing a preschooler's delight was really special. The waiting room is a small playground. One side contains a wall enclosed play area with a short slide. My Grandson immediately headed to this spot and in minutes was happily coming down the slide. In lieu of kiddie sized chairs, one wall was colorful 3 level bleacher style seating which could also be used for safe climbing. Children's books are strategically placed. Oh, and there's also an area for grown ups to sit. Much smaller than the play area, of course..... But the highlight was the examination. Can you believe I'm actually saying this about a dental visit? The child & his grown-up is led to an open floor plan exam area. There are no little cubicles to make one feel isolated and claustrophobic. Each station features a brightly colored dental chair, all in different hues. The child gets to choose their favorite color. My Grandson immediately ran happily to the bright blue chair and eagerly climbed into it. Wow, could this actually be a dentist appointment? Or might it be a play date with the amazing doctor? Never have I seen a Pediatric Dentist who was so good with children. She explained what she was doing to the child, not the grownup. And her demeanor was such that you could tell she loved children. That feeling was conveyed to the child, who happily cooperated with everything she wanted to do. And oh, the dental tools & utensils.... They were all child themed. What an amazing experience!! What a wonderful dental practice!!

We no longer live in Greenpoint, so we tried a few dentists closer to where we live now, but I wasn't happy. I wasn't looking for teeth whitening or braces at 53 years old. I just wanted our amazing family dentist back. I finally decided to try the doctors who took over Dr. Fox's practice. Despite it being a haul from Bed-Stuy, I'm thrilled I did. All of the old staff are still there, and the doctors are amazing. I knew the practice was called Identical Dental, but I didn't realize the name was literal until the identical twin doctors walked into my cleaning to introduce themselves! They have an amazing bedside manner and, like Dr. Fox, they're upfront about costs, explain your insurance, and help you navigate it to keep your out-of-pocket expenses as low as possible. They tell you what can wait and what's urgent. During my visit, they showed me that I had recently split an old crown and that it needed to be replaced immediately to save the tooth. They even squeezed me in right after my cleaning to take care of it. So happy we went back. I'm telling everyone to go there! P.S. They wear different-colored scrubs so the staff and patients can tell them apart, lol.

I show proof of email and text that I confirmed my appointment. She states well you're going to have to wait because we have patients at that time too now and it will be over an hour. First of all, this is the only place that takes healthfirst out of all the practices I called. I…read moredidn't need to pay anything out of pocket. I had a cleaning, fillings, and wisdom teeth removal done on three separate occasions. The first two were done by a guy with a beard (I'm so sorry). During the cleaning, he verbally analyzed my teeth and was informative about how to take better care of them. I've only had fillings done twice before at other practices, and this is by far the best as I could barely feel a difference with my invisalign trays on. The wisdom teeth removal was done under local anesthesia by Dr. John. It was nerve wracking but Dr. John and the assistants were very friendly and reassuring. There was a little pinch when he injected the anesthesia, and a lot of pressure and some audible crunching during the extraction (4 of them!), but it was overall painless. The only thing I would suggest is to bring a lot of tissue so you could blot the blood dripping down your chin on the way home. I only needed 1 dose of motrin and there was no pain or visible swelling by the second day.

I feel that it…read moreis important for other families to know about our experience so they can prevent the same thing from happening to their children. I would give Dr. Hanford and Greenpoint Pediatric Dentistry a zero if it was possible. Options with our insurance are limited, so we ended up at GPD for both our son and daughter. The work was so poor that both our children needed additional work to correct soon after. After a few months of having her crown put in, our daughter developed an infection because it was not properly sealed, nor the initial cavity completely removed. She needed antibiotics and additional sedation work scheduled to correct. In addition to the quick, sloppy, and careless work, the dentist office is dirty and grim, and none of the staff seem to actually care about young children. They want to get you in and out as quickly as possible despite the involved procedures they perform. We were rushed at every step, spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner, and never received a follow up from them after our call to complain about our traumatizing experience. They have no intention of taking their time to establish trust with your child. The doctor and his staff will physically restrain your child while you listen to their screams from the other room. They may say your child will not remember any of it, and this is a complete lie. My son still talks about his experience 5 years after the work was done. My daughter started crying hysterically when she heard our regular dentist telling us she needed to go back. We are still so upset about our experience. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Kulute Ali intentionally, repetitively exposed me to excessive amount of radiation…read more Kulute Ali placed a pediatric lead vest on me to take a panoramic x-ray before I was taken to my exam room. I am an adult weighing 175 lbs. The vest only covered my shoulders. Kulute Ali then asked me to wait in the radiation room for about five minutes, she said, while she cleaned my exam room. I saw Dr. Dean, with my panoramic x-ray on the screen in my exam room. Dr.Dean told me a panoramic x-ray was not really used for looking at teeth. She said it was just to look at the jaws. Dr. Dean asked if "they" could take two more individual bite wing x-rays of specific teeth, without telling me which teeth. You would think they would want bite wing x-rays of all of my teeth if the panoramic x-ray was not used to look at teeth. Of course a panoramic x-ray IS used to identify decay on teeth, amongst its use for assessment of much more than the "jaws." Kulute Ali came to my exam room and asked me to come with her to do 2 bite wing x-rays. Kulute Ali attempted to place the pediatric lead vest on me again. I asked Kulute to please use the royal blue adult lead vest with the collar. Kulute said instead she wanted to use the light blue adult vest. Notably, the light blue vest did not have a collar. I kindly insisted on the royal blue adult vest because it had a collar. Kulute placed the royal blue adult vest with a collar on me. Kulute Ali then placed the bite black/receptor holder in my mouth, without using any film. The receptor holder was empty. Kulute Ali then pressed the exposure button six times. Kulute Ali repositioned the empty bite block/receptor holder in my mouth and then again pressed the exposure button six times or seven times. Kulute Ali then repositioned the empty bite block/receptor holder in my mouth and pressed the exposure button too many times for me to count, while I watched the screen on the extension arm continuously blink and read, "exposure," "exposure," "exposure," exposure"... over and over and over without ever loading film in the bite block/receptor holder and without moving it in my mouth. If I had to guestimate, I would say Kulute Ali pressed the exposure button at least 30 times, without ever one time loading film in the bite block/receptor holder she put in my mouth. Kulute Ali went to the computer and pretended to upload images and no x-rays displayed on the computer screen. I was not shown my bite wing x-rays because none were taken. Yet Kulute Ali and Dr. Dean pretended they were taken. Dr. Dean did not share any information with me about the health of my teeth, gums, jaws or palate. I audio recorded my entire exam, including Dr. Dean asking for the bite wing x-rays and including Kulute Ali coming and asking me to allow her to take bite wing x-rays and including my follow up conversation with Dr. Dean after she pretended to look at my bite wing x-rays in another room.

I had someone willing to help me have my teeth extracted. Dr. Igor Deckhkanov and Dr. Howard Wang intentionally harmed me and refused me full tooth extraction and dentures. I have infection, bone loss, metal allergies and type 2 diabetes. Dentures are literally my only option. Dr. Wang cracked a tooth and broke two crowns extracting only four teeth. Dr. Wang refused to extract anymore saying they weee healthy teeth, which is false. CBCT proved him totally wrong. Dr. Wang charged over $6000 to cause me harm removing only four teeth for that ridiculous price. Dr. Dekhkanov charged $1000 to replace the temporary crowns Dr. Wang broke. They were on horribly decayed, painful teeth Dr. Wang refused to extract. The temporaries look like they were made by a preschooler. Their xrays and cbct were unusable by other dentists and were $600. Dr. Dekhkanov intentionally did not point out infection in my teeth and mouth. I had to point it out to him on CBCT. It is overt infection needing biopsy and culture. And then Dr. Dekhkanov prescribed me a pediatric dose of antibiotic to treat the infection he tried to hide from me. He and Dr. Wang refused to extract my teeth for dentures. I am already missing 10 teeth. I believe their refusal was an intent to prevent treatment of infection and bone loss. I believe they work with the shadow government in this metaverse who intend to cause harm to very specific people. Evil men. I have conditions which prevent me from being able to have further crowns and root canals. Dentures are the only option for teeth, and they refused. Please see the videos I uploaded of them refusing to extract my teeth for dentures and providing no option for teeth.
