a piece of chocolate cake and a cup of iced coffee

We visited Yellow Vase with a party of four and had a relaxing, enjoyable meal from start to finish. This location really stands out for its beautiful outdoor seating--bright, cozy, and inviting. With the yellow accents, greenery, and charming setup, it truly felt like stepping into a little town in Europe, making it perfect for a leisurely brunch or lunch. One of the highlights is the setting: it's just a long staircase away from a stunning library with a fountain overlooking the ocean, which adds to the peaceful, scenic vibe and makes the experience feel extra special. What we ordered: * Tomato Cream Soup (2x) - Great Smooth, comforting, and well-balanced with a rich tomato flavor that wasn't too heavy. * Strawberry Salad - Good Fresh and light, a nice contrast to the heartier dishes. * Quesadilla - Great Crispy on the outside, melty and flavorful inside--definitely a crowd-pleaser. * WOW Burger - Great Juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Easily one of the standout dishes of the meal. * Lemon Fettuccine with Shrimp - Good Light and refreshing with a subtle citrus touch that kept it from feeling too rich. * Penne Pesto with Chicken - Good Comforting and well-executed, with a nice balance of pesto and chicken. * Latte - Good Smooth and comforting, a great pairing with the meal. Overall, the food was decent and satisfying, and the prices felt fair for the portion sizes and quality--solid 4 stars for the food and value. The environment truly shines, with its charming European-town feel, beautiful outdoor seating, and scenic surroundings, easily earning 5 stars for the atmosphere. A wonderful spot to unwind, enjoy good food, and soak in the ambiance--we'd happily return.

2/14/26 The staff here makes me want to come back repeatedly. They are just so amazing and friendly. The chipotle chicken panini is so delicious. This is our second time here. We love this spot. It is hidden. Just park where the map tells you to park and look for all of the yellow. Quaint peaceful spot. Restroom is clean. Restaurant and staff are super clean. So many photo op areas. It is so peaceful here. 1/23/26 I posted on the wrong location. This location on Malaga Cove Plaza is correct Everything was so lovely... from the service to the views. The woman taking the order was magnificent and amazing. There is a lot of seating. The staff was so nice. The woman at the cashier area, taking orders, made great suggestions. Ample parking and seating everywhere. Had a peaceful ambiance. It's hidden. Park and walk around. The address takes you up the street but park on that street and walk into the business area. It's hidden. Look for all of the yellow.... You will find this gem. We want to come back and try more items. I've visited Yellow Vase a couple of times, and each experience has been fantastic! I really love the atmosphere--it feels like stepping into a little European town, with yellow umbrellas, bamboo and rattan chairs, and lush green plants that add to the charm. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and both areas are equally inviting. We tried the Quesadilla ($15), which was absolutely delicious--tender chicken melted with jack cheese and green chilies inside a spinach tortilla. The Sweet Dream ($15) was super yummy, especially with the banana. The WOW Burger ($16) was also great and very satisfying. The service was wonderful, and the prices are fair for the quality and portions. It's such a relaxing spot for Sunday brunch-- we truly enjoyed our time at Yellow Vase and will definitely be visiting again!

This place is so cute! The vibe was on point and our food was delish. We had to add a little salt and pepper to the croissant sandwich and avocado toast, and that took it to the next level. The textures were so interesting and the food tasted fresh. We would definitely go back for breakfast or brunch.

    Chipotle Chicken Panini $16.95

Truly a 3.5 but rounding up to 4 Stars for the service and experience. I came with my girlfriends on Sunday and the weather could NOT have been more beautiful. The cafe is really pretty and bright with lots of YELLOW aesthetics, why it's called Yellow Vase. The yellow everything made us feel happy being there. The vibe was chill, cozy and happy. It's a simple concept: get in line, order your food(s), get a number and find a table. The servers will bring out your food items when ready. What we ordered: 01. Raspberry Matcha $7.99 - 3 Stars - A little bit of sweetness, more Matcha taste and barely any Raspberry to taste. Probably would not get again. 02. Yellow Vase Golden Milk Latte $5.80 - 3 Stars - Tasted better than the Matcha, just ok, nothing special. 03. Strawberry Salad $16.95 - 2.5 Stars - Not a fan of strawberries on my salads but my gf liked it. There wasn't enough dressing (as you can see). Definitely had better ones. 04. The Symphony Panini $16.95 - 3 Stars - This had Ham, Roast beef, Turkey, Tomato, Avocado, and Cheese. This was my gf's order and she liked it. The salad didn't come with any dressing so we had to ask for it. 05. Chipotle Chicken Panini $16.95 - 3 Stars - This was gf's order and she liked it. The portion was bigger than normal so she only ate half. At least she had dressing on her salad. 06. Breakfast Wrap $16.95 - 2 Stars - The staff said this was like a burrito. NOT really but it was a light burrito then. The potatoes kept falling out. I would've preferred a hash or small diced potatoes instead of the sliced one. The egg was a bit overcooked and this had zero flavors. Not a fan. 07. Salmon Cove Crepe $16.95 - 3.5 Stars - My gf ordered this dish and she loved it. I tried it and the sauce was lemony and had capers which I liked. The crepe was decent and wasn't soggy but had a nice soft-firm texture (if that is even a description for crepes). The Salmon was perfectly cooked, this was probably the best items out of our orders. PARKING - Park in the parking lot as street parking is limited. Customers from the plaza were constantly leaving so you can find parking. The parking spots in front of the businesses are only short time parking for pickup and drop-offs. LOCATION - Great Gram-worthy location, decor is so pretty and there are BEES flying around due to all of the plants and flowers around the eating areas so just be careful if you are allergic to bees. There are a few tables inside to avoid them and the sun. They have a side section for private events, super cute to have a Baby/Bridal Shower or a Birthday/Private Event. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Super friendly team and always smiling. FOOD - Not the best you've ever had but just mediocre Brunchy items. You really come here for the vibe and aesthetics. We enjoyed our GDO (Girls Day Out) to just catch up in this cozy and pretty cafe. VERDICT - Would I come back? Probably to only meet up with my gfs and share pastries and a drink but coming with the expectation that it's not the best foods/drinks but a great place to hang out at.

Went here for my birthday brunch awhile back. Although we went on a day where it was cloudy and kind of rainy, it was still such a cute place to be. I did enjoy my crepe, but it wasn't anything that gave me a wow-factor. Cute place though.

The good: I really like the location of this Yellow Vase and how it's tucked in the corner of this charming and century-old plaza. It has the largest outdoor space of the Yellow Vases I've been to (I've been to 3). There are a couple of outdoor areas. I tried their almond latte, a vanilla cake and a chocolate mousse cake. I liked how the vanilla cake was moist. This is a really quaint brunch spot with a casual yet sophisticated feel. You order at the counter, get a number and your food is brought out to you. This Yellow Vase doesn't have an ocean view like their other location but the courtyard space and outdoor area is very picturesque and spacious. The decor inside is French-country chic with a lot of artificial flowers and yellow colors. Outside, there are real plants to enjoy. The bad: I was going to buy an apron there but it was a little under $60. I felt like this place had fewer pastries and cakes in their display than the one in Rolling Hills. My husband didn't care for the flavor of the almond latte because it said it tasted artificial. The vanilla cake was moist but a bit plain. The interesting: I've been seeing Instagram reels about this place resembling Italy.

We came here in the morning and there was a bit of a wait, but it moved along reasonably. The menu had a lot of solid options, so it was easy to find something that sounded good. I ordered the WOW burger without onions (personal preference), and it was really delicious. I paired it with a side of fruit since I wanted something sweet, and that worked out well. Prices felt fair and moderate for the quality and portion size. The location itself is very nice. We sat on the patio, which was comfortable and relaxing, and I liked that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have restrooms available, which is always a plus. Overall, a good experience and a place I'd come back to.

    Berry filled pastry
    Adam C.

My pastry was quite large but also fairly dry which was disappointing. The drizzle of honey on top was a nice addition and while there were raisins on top as well as inside, the inside was pretty meh. I wouldn't get that specific pastry again. I did take a couple bites of the pastry mom got and I liked that one much better. It seemed more fresh and the flavor with the berry filling was good! Since our pastries were already made and in the display case, the service was obviously quick. And I liked the outdoor seating with all the yellow umbrellas to keep the sun off everyone. Pretty location but fairly average pastries. Probably wouldn't come back.

After a day of hiking in the area, my friends and I decided on lunch at Yellow Vase. You get in line, place your order at the counter and given a number for self-seating. Service was direct, friendly and efficient. Yellow Vase has an extensive menu. I decided on the Chicken Panini for $15.95: chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fontina cheese and pesto, served with a house spread on ciabatta bread. My panini came with a side salad. Food was expected and really okay -not something I crave again, but decent. I also ordered a cold, iced matcha green tea $3.65 -which was more lemon flavored than matcha (I would suggest skipping that -only if you want really, a lemonade). Indoor and outdoor seating available. Cute interior, good for a casual place for brunch or a morning coffee or tea.

Charming atmosphere and setting with a tranquil backdrop. On a beautiful sunny day it's the perfect place to relax unwind and enjoy a freshly made meal. food was good, service was efficient and overall had a lovely experience

The ambiance was absolutely charming! The moment you step in, you'll fall in love with its charm. Everything is beautifully done and the decor was beautiful and inviting. Unfortunately, the service fell short, and the food was mediocre at best. With some improvements in those areas, this place could be truly special

    Shrimp pasta

A a breezy little hike in Palos Verdes, we made our way to Yellow Vase, along with what felt like half the South Bay. It was surprisingly packed for a weekday, but then again it was around lunch hour. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not terrible, just unexpected. The cashier wasn't rude per se, but let's just say enthusiasm wasn't on the menu. We all gravitated toward classic brunch fare, and I played it safe with an omelet. It was tasty... I think. Honestly, I can't remember it. What I can remember, in vivid, borderline-romantic detail, is the creamy shrimp pasta we ordered to share. We were torn on whether pasta was too heavy for a post-hike, pre-noon meal,(we decided to order it as sharable), but spoiler alert: it was 100% worth it. I'm still dreaming about it. The vibe was cozy and cheerful, true to Yellow Vase form. Seating is available both indoors and out, though be warned, it can get crowded even on a weekday. Service had its ups and downs, but all in all, we had a great time. Final verdict: if you're eyeing the shrimp pasta, stop thinking and start ordering.

At our initial meeting, she asked lots of questions, looked at our inspiration photos, and most importantly of all, she listened. I love peonies, which unfortunately are out of season in September when our wedding was, and after meeting with multiple florists who told me that we'd have to change our vision, I was beginning to lose hope. Katie was the only one who listened to what we wanted and came up with a creative solution so that we could get a similar peony-like look with alternative, in-season flowers. She showed photos at our initial meeting and then brought samples at the subsequent meeting, and after seeing her ideas in person, we were sold! Katie and her team offered a level of service that the other florists I'd looked into couldn't even compare to. Not only did she provide rentals in the form of the circular arch for our ceremony, glassware for the centerpieces, and LED votives for the tables, but she and her team also flipped all of the arrangements used in the ceremony during cocktail hour so that they could be repurposed for the reception. This saved us a lot of money, and also resulted in the reception ballroom looking incredibly lush with florals. Her pricing was also much more competitive than the other florists, even without taking the repurposing into account! As a result, her value simply couldn't be beat. The day of the wedding, I saw my bouquet and the ceremony arch and they took my breath away. Every piece from the smallest boutonniere to the flower girl wreaths to the cake florals and the centerpieces were absolutely stunning. She and her team nailed it, and if I had to do it all over again, I would sign her on in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a wedding (or anything!) florist who knocks it out of the park with her designs and creativity, is the best value around, and is overall a fun and spirited person to work with, look no further! Katie is the best there is. Thank you, Katie, for helping to make our wedding day one to remember!
