    cinnamon roll at the beach!
    Jessica I.

It was okay! The staff and ambiance were amazing and I would return just for that. Their courtyard has a ton of seating and is a nice mix of being outdoors, but still feeling like you are in a private area. Great location as well - right next to Mickey's, decent amount of street parking, and walking distance to the beach. I had the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie + cinnamon roll, and both pastries were just okay to me. I'd still come back to try other items and enjoy the courtyard!

Well, this place caught my eye as I biked by! So adorable, fabulous patio. They ran out of almost everything and didn't have matcha, though (thank your, Mike, for reminding me!), so I love the ambiance and the concept, I just think the goods could be better. I'd definitely like to try them again!

I would highly recommend Yellow Jersey in Hermosa beach for a sweet & relaxing break. Fantastic quality baked goods are found here. The owners are local, hands-on and very friendly. The highlight is the very relaxing patio area to chill out in.

Come for the great patio but stay for the baked goods! From freshly made cinnamon rolls to croissant and from pizza puff pastry to breakfast burritos! The bike theme is a great kicker for a cycling lover like me. The service is top and I love the ambiance at the patio. Went twice this weekend!

Yellow Jersey is a must try in HB and a great spot if you're looking for GF options! We got the breakfast burrito (GF tortilla) and a GF spice muffin. Both were delicious! We also loved sitting in the courtyard which was quiet, cute, and perfect for catching up. Service was above and beyond - the owner is so friendly and makes you want to keep coming back!

I went here for a book event. It's a small cafe in Hermosa. I parked in the metered zone. I probably wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for the audio book event that I participate in. I ordered a pumpkin scone and a latte. Together it amounted to $9. It's not a bad deal. The serving area is small but the dining area is outdoors and it's really cute! Service was very friendly and they very much support our local artists!

Run, don't walk, to this place. (Or cycle to be on brand.) FOOD: daily fresh made pastries that delight. I had the Apple tart with an apricot glaze. Super flakey dough and perfect accompaniment to my iced latte. AMBIENCE: Go for the food, stay for the cute as hell courtyard. The owner was friendly created a warm welcoming environment. Chat about his love of cycling or bring your dog and get added to the dog wall of fame. Come early to make sure you get a full selection before they sell out.

Yummy homemade-style pastries with a cute outdoor garden. The cookie and scone were great. It's nice that they rotate the pastries based on the season. I haven't tried the coffee or breakfast burrito yet, so will update the review based on that next time. My main feedback for now is their open hours. It would be nice if they opened a little earlier, at 8 AM at least.

What a cute little shop! Came here with an audiobook walking club (shout out Stephanie and her romance book truck, The Fleuria!) and it was the perfect vibe. The courtyard is perfect! I can't wait to come back and read while I drink my coffee. The sausage egg burrito was so tasty and the frosty on the cinnamon roll, byyyeeee. My partner inhaled the egg bite so I'm sure it was good too. Overall, super cute spot and can't wait to come back!

The spirit of the Hermosa Pie & Cake Company lives on with Yellow Jersey! The shop feels so open and quaint and even has a little seating bar so you can watch the sun rise in the East or the beachgoers walking by. The owner, Mike, is friendly and enthusiastic about this venture and his baked wares which include delicious croissants, tarts, sourdough loaves and cinnamon rolls. He plans on adding more seating in the charming back garden area which will be a great place to sip some of his fresh-squeezed lemonade and enjoy a snack mere steps from the beach. Truly happy to see this location back in use.

Excellent, warm service. Delicious pastries and espresso drinks. Cinnamon roll was so good I wanted another one; and loved that the portion size wasn't gigantic. Brought our dogs and really enjoyed the patio area vibe.

I sat outdoors and listened to the sound of the water wall fountain installation. Large selection of varying French pastries and desserts that look absolutely scrumptious. This includes croissants, cookies, tarts, macaroons, cakes, pate, cheeses, quiches, brioches, etc. There was an open menu/book with pictures of the food on the counter. They offer many options. It was difficult to decide, but I finally decided and ordered an avocado toast and small latte. Because there was only one other person there, the lady behind the counter said she would find me, which she did. She delivered my drink first. Afterwards, she personally delivered my avocado toast with a side salad, served on a wooden chopping block. It all looked good. Well presented. From the first bite of my avocado toast, it was delicious because of the freshly baked bread. A nice, thick dark bread. It was piled on with freshly chopped avocados that kept falling off the bread, topped with pickled radish, tomatoes, and pine nuts. Parking: There's plenty of free, shared lot parking in the back.

DineLA Food & Drink Order ($15): Breakfast Plate: Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes with 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (sunny-side up) $15.95 Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte $6.95 Server/Bartender: Andrew I have been a long time fan of Kirari West Bake Shop when it opened with much fanfare as a 100% gluten-free Japanese bakery with treats that defy the common undesirable traits of gluten-free goods: dense, dry, &/or gritty. When Kirari West Bake Shop (refer to Review #290) opened sister bakery, Confections by Kirari West, a couple of years ago, I bookmarked them for a visit but didn't get around to it until I saw them on 2026 DineLA. The confections bakery also sits in King Harbor Plaza, but south of its sister between Glaze Craze & King Harbor Spa, serving all-day breakfast, burger, sandwiches, & pizzas with teas, coffees, & smoothies. According to Andrew, KWBS bakes bread for CBKW & CBKW bakes treats & doughnuts for KWBS. Still not quite understanding the difference because KWBS also serves breakfast but in sandwiches & french toasts, & paninis, sandwiches, & salads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Initially focused solely on baked goods: artisan breads, scones, & Bake-At-Home gluten-free flour mixes, CBKW has evolved their menu to include sandwiches, pizza, quinoa bowls, & smoothies. The DineLA menu offered 3 options, & I deliberated between pancakes & chicken burger. I chose the Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes because they looked fluffy & divine in the owner pic; it includes 2 Bacon Strips & 2 Eggs (cooked sunny-side up). And picked an Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with less ice for my drink. It was quiet for an early lunch, & a couple of ladies walked in after I finished ordering. The bakery cafe has its cozy charm with a lovely black & white mural on the right long wall that's great for selfies or social posts. There's 4 2-tops & counter seating facing the plaza/parking lot, no restroom (assuming sister KWBS will let you use theirs), & plenty of parking though it'll be challenging during lunch & dinner rush with so many eateries in the plaza. Andrew makes an awesomely refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte that rivals those from boba shops! Balanced sweetness with earthy, grassy matcha & generous dollops of real, sweet strawberry purée... soooooo good! Though smaller & a bit pricier than boba shops, it's a top-notch drink. My pancakes came shortly after; smells great but looks nothing like the pic, not fluffy, not golden. I love eating pancakes no matter the time of day, & these Blueberry Cinnamon Pancakes had comforting notes of cinnamony warmth with random sweet bursts of blueberries. The texture is notably moist & airy, & not reminiscent of typical gluten-free foods which are dry & dense. Typical bacon & eggs, nothing unusual... I prefer thick cut bacon & on the crisper side, but the eggs were perfectly cooked, the whites were set with a runny yolk & crisp, brown edges. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger & quench my thirst. I'm lucky that I don't have any food allergies or restrictions. People with celiac disease require a gluten-free diet, & cooking/baking challenges stem from the lack of gluten for moisture, elasticity, & structure. Customers should know that Confections by Kirari West is a dedicated gluten-free bakery, so there's no worries of cross-contamination. I don't know how Chef Hiro Saito creates this tasty, gluten-free deliciousness here & KWBS... he uses high quality rice flour instead of wheat to create his delectable pastries. On 07/2025, CBKW along with sister KWBS were both designated as a Blue Zones Project Approved Restaurant. This means they're certified to offer healthier, longevity-focused menu options based on plant-slant & whole-food principles like those in Okinawa, Japan or Sardinia, Italy. Quality ingredients... craftsmanship... & sincerity... check, check, & check!! Yeah, I got you in my corner Confections by Kirari West! At my latest adventure at this place, and I have had problems before, I ordered their Croque Monsieur, which is my main go-to at this cafe. I've gotten it so many times I can't even count the number. The way our order arrived was first my wife's quiche was brought out. Then, several minutes later, our lattes arrived. Don't you hate it when your drinks are delivered after your meal? Then, about twenty minutes later, they brought out my Croque Monsieur. I was about to go and ask where it was when I finally see a staff member coming out with it. The problem was, she brought it to me in a to-go container. They brought my wife's quiche out on a plate, our lattes in mugs, so why was there any confusion? We never ordered anything to-go! From that, we had to go inside and ask for silverware, a plate, and all of that kind of stuff. Just an annoying waste of time! This may seem like a small thing. And, it is. But, this stuff has been going on a lot lately. They really need to get their staff under control, get them listening to their customers, and bring their customers what they ordered. The other problem I have with this place is that it has become overrun with flies. It's really annoying! I mean, we were just batting flies away from our table the whole time we were sitting there. As were a lot of other people. Looking at the open tables and chairs, there were flies just resting on them. I realize this is not their fault. And there's probably nothing they can do about it. But, it's really becoming an annoying experience to eat here, not only in terms of service but in terms of flies. They really need to clean up their act. Ill start with service, the staff were was friendly but unfortunately very uncoordinated. Food would come out of the kitchen and onto the counter in different orders so within the same party, someone's sandwich would be made before another person's lettuce. This means the food got mixed up on the counter and while I was waiting, witnessed three people's orders get mixed up. Again they were nice about it but not a good system. We ordered a turkey salad and a Parisian baguette, first off my salad had a lot of old lettuce in it. The fresh ingredients tasted just ok, like low tier super market brand food. From a culinary standpoint, the salad could've benefited from sliced almonds or something crunchy. The Parisian baguette bread was very hard tough, with a decent amount of ham, but not enough spread or cheese..
