    Kimchi bibimbap with tofu
    Rob Y.

If you're super hungry when lunchtime arrives, this friendly yellow truck is your go-to! The portion sizes here are so astounding that you'll likely struggle to locate the rice underneath all the tender, tasty meat. Not that hungry? That's okay because you'll have enough lunch for three days! The jeyuk deopbap is my favorite dish here, but the bibimbap is also on point! The kimchi is quite delicious, but not very fermented. My coworker vouches for the kimbap, so I'll gladly give it a try soon. If the food doesn't put a smile on your face (I can assure it will during your post-lunch nap at the desk), the amiable demeanor of the man at the front of the truck will surely do the job. Do yourself a favor and stop by this truck when you're having a hungry day!

Amazing bibimibop and jap chae/glass noodles! Very generous portion sizes with friendly service. I was able to swap out the white rice for jap chae for an extra $2, and it was totally worth it. I also added a fried egg, which made the meal even tastier. Overall, a very satisfying meal for $12, not bad!

Horrible. I actually got this mixed up with the KOrengy cart which is the same color and also sells Korean fast food. My apologies. This cart was in Franklin Park last Wednesday (11/2/2011). I love Korean Fast Food and have developed quite the palate for it during my many trips to Korea. I got spoiled living in Los Angeles' Koreatown and then frequenting NYC's Koreatown at my favorite Korean fast food spot "Woorijip". I saw this cart and got excited. The price was right ($8) for a spicy bulgogi plate and the ingredients looked fresh. Boy was I bitter when I saw the lady pour this saucy looking, Sloppy Joe-inspired substance over my white rice. It didn't smell good at all. Yes, I know Kimchi smells bad, I expect that, but this smell wasn't the Kimchi. Anyway, I expected spicy and really it wasn't. I have no idea what they were thinking. I thought I would get the bulgogi plain topped with a spicy hot sauce, not this Sloppy Joe crap. It was basically inedible. That was a shame because the veggies were really yummy and plentiful. Too bad the main course was pretty awful. Hardly any meat and the meat that was there was sort of like a mystery meat. It was really weird in consistency. I had to basically throw it out. I couldn't eat it. I will not be hitting up this cart again.

Second Location - Corner of 12th and F St block south of Metro Center.

This place is the second location of the L St. Bulgogi Cart, which gets rave reviews (http://www.yelp.com/biz/l-street-vending-bulgogi-cart-washington). I just happened to stumble across their second location, and gave it a shot. The spicy bulgogi is quite excellent, as is their kim chi and even the iceburg lettuce with some citrusy/vinegary vinaigrette is pretty good. I will be sure to try the Bibimbap next time. The line is a little slow to move, but today was their first time at the new location, so I think they're working out some kinks with the new truck. Cost was $7 for your choice of box, with just about any combination you want. Not the best Korean I've ever had, but pretty close. Also, these people are based out of Annandale, VA which is pretty much the biggest pocket of Koreans in the entire DC-metro area. It's like getting Vietnamese food from Eden Center; it doesn't get any more authentic. Completely unrelated, but the guy who runs the truck has a pretty hilariously broken-english Twitter, which at the time of this review only had four tweets. One of which reads: "we will closed door be for customer coming... because its illegal... so when you guys come? please knock the door...". So if the door is closed, be sure to knock! All in all, while $7 is still a bit on the pricer end of other Korean food trucks I've visited (granted not in DC), I would still say that this place is a great value. Highly recommended.

Beef bulgogi and spicy beef bulgogi
    Ishaan K.

The meats taste really good, but overall I did not think it was a great meal. You basically get a lot of meat and rice, a tiny portion of lettuce and an even smaller side of kimchi. I got the beef bulgogi and the spicy beef bulgogi. Both were marinated extremely well and cooked perfectly. It was tender, juicy and the flavors were really good. If i were forced to pick a favorite, I think the spicy beef slightly edges out the regular beef. But I wouldn't really consider their servings as "full meals". If all you are looking for is meat and rice, this truck will surely hit the spot. Compared to the other food trucks Yellowvendor portions are bigger, so you will definitely be satisfied. But if you're looking for a little more complete meal the other Korean food trucks are the way to go. If only they integrate some more sides or veggies into their meals I think this would be a 4-5 star spot! (In other reviews and pictures I do see more veggies and sides in the meals, so maybe they just ran out on the day I was there.)

    Spicy bulgogi with double kimchi
    Kittiya P.

Big portion for $8 ($9 with a drink - combo). The spicy bulgogi usually comes with a side of kimchi and a side of salad, but I love kimchi more. The bulgogi wasn't too spicy. Perfect for people who can't tolerate spicy food. Fresh kimchi. The food could be a little warmer. Mine was at the room temperature.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here.
