My new used car that I purchased in Texas broke down in Casper, WY, on the way home to montana. With a quote of $21,000 for a new motor, I rode a bus home 700 miles away in Montana.We contacted yellowfin logistics after reading so many horror story reviews for other transport companies, I got extremely nervous about finding a reputable company. I felt comfortable going with yellowfin as I thought the yelp reviews were legitimate. The truck had already been at the shop nearly a month at $15 a day storage fees, it is not easy coordinating so far away. We paid a deposit of $250 but we were refunded $100 of the deposit that needed to go to the driver, because the vehicle is inoperable and needed a wench, which I failed to mention when I first placed the order with yellowfin. The first driver hemmed and hawed about picking up the truck and we were not comfortable with him actually coming through and this was on a Friday, we contacted yellowfin and asked that they keep us informed our agent Riley did not. When my boyfriend took over he got places with them and by first thing Tuesday morning the truck was picked up and headed to Kentucky to my boyfriends brothers residence, so they can see if the truck indeed needs a motor. The new driver Josh was wonderful and kept in touch with us every bit and the truck made it safely to Kentucky Monday afternoon. I did a pretty thorough review of companies that ship cars for a small car. I read all available reviews in addition to quotes to spect the right company. Yellowfin was tied with another company for top spot. I ended up going with the other company (lower quote but very few reviews posted anywhere) and ended up paying what I would have paid anyway with Yellowfin. Yellowfin had a ton of reviews in multiple places that were very favorable--and they were very responsive to every complaint posted--good or bad. The worst customer service I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Mia was the sales representative who handled my order, and she said all we would have to pay was $945 which was on the order confirmation. Come 5 days out before it was time to ship the car, she called me to confirm the price was now $1,100. Mia never said, nor was it stated anywhere that prices were subject to change and she made me think this was a set price. I told her to have a nice day, and that I'll take my business elsewhere. She later calls me to say she has a lower price of $1,050, but I had already reached out to other companies and I asked her to remove me from her database. I had two cars to move from Kirkland, WA to Dallas, TX. FIRST CAR MOVE- I had a different company (American Logistics Hauling) move my first car, that company misguided me to pay more initially (as booking fee) and later the complete amount. This costed me $197 extra and caused a lot of frustration. They missed the pickup window by 2days and they took 9 days to move my first car but they initially said it will take 4-5 days. They failed every aspect of what a business has to offer to a customer. I am also going to give my honest review about them on their website and on google so people will know what they are getting into. I will not and do not recommend American Logistics Hauling SECOND CAR MOVE- With above experience I had to be extra cautious this time. I previously had a brief chat with Molly from Yellowfin logistics and she seemed very professional and knowledgable. So I messaged her about my second car move and provided all the info she required. Molly prepared an initial order draft which had all the info regarding how to pay initial deposit and remaining balance (Cash or moneyorder or cashier's check on delivery). Thats called professionalism. Promised me 48hr pickup time and 6-7days to complete the shipment. She even assigned a driver and confirmed me and then I paid the initial deposit. My car was picked up as promised and even better it reached to destination in 4days (thats 3 days early than what they promised). The driver parked his truck outside community and drove my car to my door. I didnt have cash on hand so it took me 20-25mins to get cash from ATM. Driver waited for this time and didnt complain a thing. This shows the patience a business should have while dealing with customers. I appreciated the driver and really appreciate Yellowfin logistics for doing this work in a smart and great way. Price was also very reasonable and budget friendly. I needed a car shipped ASAP...I didn't realize how many SHADY people are in this business..I don't do business with any new company until I do my full research and Yelp is one of go to's. My brother found Yellowfin and I did my research as normal, the reviews were not the greatest but from what I was seeing a 3 star was good! Shame on those shady companies quoting one price and then completely switching up when the car is delivered. So after reading several horror stories, I went with my gut and called and scheduled a pick up. I needed something affordable as this was a last minute shipment. They offered to pick up my car and went over the payment agreement with me. The agent described the payment options to me. She said the first option was to pay a $100 deposit and pay the rest to the driver in cash upon drop off. The second option was to pay the full balance at drop off. I chose the later option. They scheduled my pick up for a Sunday. My brother paid the $100, not knowing that I had already chose the 2nd option. Well that didn't sit well with me and some last minute changes happened, we decided not to ship the car at the last minute. I called the office. An agent by the name of Ali was very polite and forwarded my info to the Account Manager. Surge called me back that same day, we had a civil conversation and he offered to refund half of the $100 deposit. We came to a mutual agreement because I completely understood the fact that they have to still pay the driver for the dispatch. His name was Serge..he was awesome and very understanding and easy to talk to. I told him, I would appreciate the partial refund and I did let him know they are not a bad company, my brother and I just decided not to ship the car. My only advice to the owner would be to send CONTRACTS and have the customer sign it. They just sent an invoice. Myself and Serge were going back and forth on this lol. I was like you guys sent me an invoice not a contract!lol Sorry for the long review, but I was stressed the hell out that day and Serge put me at ease. I understand they want to keep the customers but I don't like liars. The price they give me is kind of fair but they wasted my two days to find a good company. Update: I received a call today from the company apologizing for the issues that we'd had. While the apology is accepted and greatly appreciated, I feel that the company has some things to work on in regards to the professionalism of their employees and the companies they work with. If you chose to go with Yellowfin Logistics, be sure that you are upfront with your expectations and clearly understand that there likely will be extra fees, charges and a few hiccups. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL SCAM YOU FOR AS MUCH AS THEY CAN GET. We were on a road trip from Michigan to Yellowstone when my car blew a head gasket in Rapid City South Dakota. Desperate to get my car to MI, I found a quote with Yellowfin for $800, no hidden fees, extra charges, or down payment...insurance included I arranged for my car to be picked up in a week, finalizing everything over the phone. After I got back, I received an email saying my shipment was cancelled because I was unable to be reached to process a down payment, something I was not originally expected to make. I arranged them for my car to be picked up a few days later, but with "a driver who wanted an extra $50." Yellowfin Logistics will scam you out of as much money as possible. They then told me it is ILLEGAL to ship a car with luggage in the back seat, saying I would have to pay a fine of $150, so they sent me a NEW contract. When my car arrived, there had been no fine issued for improperly stowed luggage, so we refused to pay the extra fee. The driver then threatened to come back and steal my car and threatened to call the police. Instead, we called the police who verified that it is in fact NOT illegal and that the company was lying. They then changed the story, saying it was insurance, in case someone tried to robBut insurance is already covered in the original $800 quote. Serge is a lying cheat. If I could leave a zero star review I would and I rarely do that. I scheduled a pickup with Danielle to have my car shipped out as early as possible. She confirmed that my car would get picked up on Monday August 23rd on Thursday, August 19th. From the 19th until the 22nd, there is no information given on the pickup. Come Monday, August 23rd, she tells me that her previously quoted price was no longer valid because the driver she had scheduled had truck problems and now for a replacement for that day pickup was an additional $100. Since I was on a time crunch, I accepted because who knows what other problems we might foresee if we wait. The driver calls at 2:00 saying he's coming at 3:30-4 only to never show up, never pick up phone calls and completely ghosts us. Danielle says the driver was too busy and would call us back, that it's nothing. 4:30, 5pm rolls around and still no driver. The number to the driver is no answer and to voicemail, the number to yellowfin is no answer and to voicemail, Danielle is gone. Only to come find out this morning via text that it was because the driver arrived too late and couldn't assess the vehicle. Could that not have been communicated earlier instead of ignoring our calls and communication? Could it not have been confirmed if their dispatch was communicated with? Instead, she waves off my concern and tells me the driver is busy. Is that really so hard? The only communication I see is the manager replying to yelp reviews. Maybe Danielle had a bad day or something who knows? She certainly made my day hell. Do better.... Now we can't cancel because of the contract and they're refusing to refund us our money when they caused this frustration and difficulty. I was extremely nervous about hiring another auto hauler as I had been taken advantage of in the past. I relayed my apprehensions with Amanda, my booking agent with Yellowfin Logistics. She immediately made me feel I had an ally in my quest. I told her my last experience with ANOTHER company was a nightmare. They required me to pay the contracted fee to the booking agency before my vehicle was loaded. The driver then charged me extra "loading fee" of $100 cash when he picked up the car and refused to remove the vehicle from the hauler if my son did not pay the "unloading fees" which were $200 cash. Yellowfin Logistics DOES NOT REQUIRE payment for the haul upfront. I paid a small booking fee once my vehicle was loaded, which was prior agreed upon. Amanda the put me in contact with my driver at VB AUTO GROUP INC. to help ease my concerns. Amanda and I discussed exact pricing and agreed upon a final price to be paid upon delivery. My vehicle was loaded in California the same day we signed the contract. It was then delivered to Louisiana a day early. The driver updated us when he picked up the vehicle, again the morning of the day he was dropping off, and once again an hour out from his expected time of arrival. The equipment used was of the most professional I have seen for vehicle transport. The driver, Russel, did three walk around inspections with me upon delivery.
