Our go-to restaurant when we crave Cantonese-style dishes. The gentleman who is always here is the best, and the food is consistently amazing. They speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese. They are rarely busy whenever we visit, which is surprising. Go support them!

Crispy Pork Chop (perfectly seasoned with fried onions and green and red peppers) YOU NEED TO GET THIS !!

Get the FRIED SHRIMP w/ CHEESE & the CRISPY PORK CHOP !!!! Not sure what maniac decided to fry cheese and shrimp, but it is amazing. Also the crispy pork chop is perfectly seasoned with onions, red and green peppers. AMAZING !

This is pathetic. $14 for rice and some baby shrimp.

Save your money! I paid $14 for shrimp fried rice and all it was is- Rice, bean sprouts, shrimp. So extremely skimpy. Most places- it comes, peas, carrots, egg- that's fried rice. This was really over priced for what they delivered. It had no flavor and was the most basic food I've ever eaten. I do NOT recommend this place. I'll save my money and go somewhere else.

First time visiting Dong Hai Chinese restaurant. We loved the clean and cozy feel of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out piping hot. My daughter and I had to refrain from ordering other dishes because it was just the two of us. I'm so happy we did the drive out to Garland because this is definitely authentic Chinese food. The crab with ginger & scallion was the absolute best. We can't wait to return soon!!!

Food was much better the first time. Service was friendly and attentive. Dining room was clean. Chicken was ice cold, but might be a dish that's supposed to be served cold. Veggie dish was very good.

Finally after 3 years in DFW, I found a Chinese.... well slash Vietnamese own restaurant that actually serves good and delicious Chinese food. You can feel the authenticity. You can literally feel the grease on the wall and the tables covered in paper/plastic covers lol. The food is great and worth coming. Try their deep fried cheese shrimp. I thought it be weird but it was pretty good. Took me by surprise. I think the best thing I had was the fish maw soup and the oysters in black bean sauce. All other dishes were also great.

Been to dong hai several times, and they never disappoint. The owner is very friendly and kind! The food is always a good size and tastes delicious. Always worth the drive to garland. 10/10!

Not sure why I'm just now trying this place but it's a hidden gem! Everything that we ordered here was pretty good. Started with wonton soup. Good flavor. Then crispy pork chops came out, loved how crispy it was also a little kick to it. Highly recommend! Beef flat noodle, cheese shrimp and crab fried rice came out together. Everything here tasted perfect. Love how big the portions are because you'll have food to take home. Will come back to try more

I love the wonton soup and fried rice. The egg rolls are fire too! The vibe is chill with the essence of a hole in the wall.

Out of those six orders, 5 were absolutely delicious and I will be reordering those five each time. The sixth was still really great, but not my thing. The service is very good here and they are super friendly. The only bad thing is how small the place is so if youre there during full house you will have to wait. Although it's small, I wouldn't want it to change if it affects quality. So this place is dang near perfect to me. Prices are great as well. I would highly recommend making a trip out to this place. I'll definitely be back.

So crisp in the outside and tender like poboy bread on the inside. The sandwich toppings were nice. I got the basic ham and it was full of flavor. The pickled veg were so well seasoned and nice. It was a very nice compliment to the rich pork and some sort of spread they had on it. I could not get enough of this thing. I truly thought i hated bahn mi.
