The husband's mind was made up as soon as we walked in to see the large chicken statue in front of the glowing red storefront of Gordo's Hot Chicken. We looked at all the other food offerings, only to end up back at Gordo's. Ordering was very easy on one of the two kiosks. The team members are also quick to help or answer questions at the register. Our food came out fast! The Sandwich Combo (Regular/Hot) with fries and Mac & Cheese, no slaw for the husband. Gordo Fries Combo (Spicy) for me. We found it all fresh and delicious. The option for two sides (included) is great. We found the chicken moist and tender -- the heat levels were perfect. The Mac & Cheese was a favorite. It was one of the husband's sides and generously piled on my Gordo Fries. There's plenty of clean tables and seating inside The Annex. Orders are packed to-go so you can also enjoy it outside at the park or community areas.

Verdict? This is a…read moreregular Oxnard Taco truck, simple servings of tacos, burritos, tortas and some other items like their popular gorditas that are stuffed with beans cheese and your choice of meat. So taste-wise? They are ok, nothing great but a good late night spot to catch some tacos. Here's a rundown of their meat offerings: Asada - Not that good, but then again tell me one place here in the Nard that knows how to do this right. Pastor - Just ok, they cook it on the flattop just like all other taco places but the flavor is decent. Lengua - Very good! My favorite of all, very tender and flavorful. If you add the green sauce and a little salt you'll be in tongue heaven, yes that is a thing! Barbacoa - Not bad, was missing a little salt but over all good flavor. Tripas - Nope I don't eat this, not even in Mexico, I have to draw the line somewhere. Chorizo - Pretty good overall, decent seasonings not too fatty, it would be great in a gordita or a quesadilla. Cabeza - Not that great, still too watery and lots of fat on it, however I did hear some lady order it without fat?! Is that really a thing?? I might try this again. Still left to try: Chile Verde, Colorado. Like I said, this place is not a show stopper but when you are sitting at home watching TV on a late night and you get the cravings for some Tacos, this is not a bad place to try. Also the ladies running it are very nice and accommodating which is always good to have. Oh and before I forget, apparently the Tortas are pretty good because my kid had me go back two days in a row and ordered the exact same Torta, so at some point I think I should try one too ;)

I was on the run buying Thanksgiving whatnots and this was the perfect stop. They were parked behind the Wendy's at Holser in Oxnard. It was raining but that did not stop me. I ordered and asked if I could get more toppings on my pizza ... well no because they special is 1 topping . Makes complete sense and fair. The young man ringing me up was patient and helpful. They asked me to wait in my car as it was cold and they did not want me to get soaked. They brought my order to my car. Super kind! The pizza I got , topped with Canadian bacon was crunch and good. Also tried the tortellini, filled with beef and it was good. I shared with my sibling when I got home and they really liked it as well. $10 for a pizza is such a great deal and I will be back! It's a family run business and I love that. The brick and mortar has been in town since 1966 on Redwood in Oxnard. Please support this family ran business. They deserve all the love and truly love what they do! The ambiance in my car was great .. lol! Music playing and eating yummy food. They are on insta under handle ilovelittketonys .

One thing I noticed right away was that the prices weren't displayed on the menu, so I had no idea how much anything cost before ordering. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza because the menu photo showed it topped with slices of ham and pineapple. Unfortunately, when I saw my pizza, it only had pineapple and no ham. For $21 for a medium pizza, I expected it to include the protein that was pictured. The pizza itself was good, but I was disappointed that it didn't match the menu photo.

There are no fancy contracts, no drama, and no surprises--just a handshake, a date, and a headcount. I tell Wayne when we're eating and how many mouths we need to feed, and he shows up on time, fully prepared, and ready to deliver. That kind of reliability is rare, and it means everything when you're feeding a large group. The food is consistently excellent, the service is smooth, and the whole operation reflects pride, experience, and family values. You can tell this is a family-owned business that genuinely cares about doing things right. When you find people you can trust completely, you stick with them--and that's exactly why we'll continue to use It's in the Sauce for future reunions. Highly recommended without hesitation.

We probably wouldn't have dropped by it if someone hadn't told us about it. The staff was kind, friendly, and gave suggestions when we asked questions about the various meat options. The cash register is right straight in as you walk in. There are communal benches outside and a few high top tables inside, but the restaurant seemed to get a lot of pick up orders. Food came out within 5 minutes on a Saturday at lunch, which I was weary about since it's BBQ - but everything ended up still being hot and juicy. We ended up going with the 3-meat plate for about $30 total. It was enough for 2 people (or 1 really hungry person!). We ordered the brisket, burnt ends, and hot links which came with garlic bread and two sides of our choice - the star of the show was for sure the burnt ends, which were juicy and deeply flavorful. The brisket was moist, which I feel like is hard to find, but I do wish it had more flavor. The hot links were also good but didn't have much nuance either. Next time, we'll definitely save room to try some dessert, which was only $5! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!
