Service is beyond friendly, and they are always so helpful! I legit look lost each time I go in, so I ask for directions and they make sure I get to where I am going in the store. Being our first time and not knowing how it all worked, it didn't take us long to figure out where to go and what to do. There wasn't much of a line when we started. We placed her books in a bin, then waited to be called by a greeter. Our greeter quickly explained the process, gave the daughter a claim ticket, then we waited. In the 40 minutes it took for her claim number to come up on the screen, we were able to walk through most of the sections and pick out a couple things to buy. I was quite surprised to find so many things beyond books -- DVDs, VHS, vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, clothing, Pokémon cards, instruments, game consoles, accessories, Legos, toys, comic books, etc. It was seriously amazing. My daughter decided to take her sale in trade which gave her about 50% more to spend. For the books they didn't buy she was given the option to take them back or donate them there. She chose to donate. The husband loves old movies, art and music -- he will absolutely enjoy McKay's. I can't wait to bring him here! The parking lot is as massive, so I don't think there's ever an issue with that.

It was busy but not packed when we arrived, and it looked like the staff was setting up for an event. Books are arranged by genre, with newer titles near the front of the store. I found a few novels I've been eyeing, and the prices are fair. I could have easily spent a few hours browsing ... as easily as I could have spent a small fortune on books. It is worth noting that my husband was disappointed at the graphic novel selection (it was only one small end cap), and sadly he left empty-handed. Even still, this is a great spot to pick out a new novel, and a great chance to support an independent bookseller!
