With a couple food trucks in addition to vendors, I've found this to have the most hot food dining options for those who go to the market to do more than shop. This market also has pretty much anything you'd need for a meal. One note, it is so popular that I've seen a tent and a food truck sell out before they close for the day so you may want to go early. There are a few benches that provide good seating, which can allow for taking this market at a bit of a slower pace than you might others. Only note, it can get extremely congested, as I feel this is one of the most popular markets in the Bay, if you want something more sprawling I'd suggest Old Oakland, but otherwise no complaints. Temescal is soundly in my faves!

I was able to get kale at $1/bunch. The red amaranth and the fuzzy melon was by the pound. The bok choy and yi choy was $2 each. Fruit was $3.50/pound. Street parking only. I tend to go between 8:00 and 9:00 am for better parking and more inventory. There's also fresh fish and stalls with donuts and cooked foods. There's also market it 2 blocks x 2 blocks. They often have fresh caught fishes, fresh produce, fresh flowers, fresh local honey and this place has naturally made ingredients cream and lotion for your face and body. One thing I love the most about this farmer's market is that there is always a live band or live music! Parking is street parking in Chinatown which is tough. You can come locally by bus or get off the BART on 12th Street City Center and walk towards Jack London. Some vendors take credit cards but cash is gold here! I love coming back on sunny days and always look forward every Friday mornings!!

If you are a vendor trying to sell at a farmers market, do not apply with this farmers market…read more I submitted an application to sell with this farmers market, and they had my credit card on file (to pay an application fee). A few days after applying, I got an automated email saying my application was approved and was immediately charged $235 (annual membership fee and a stall fee) before I could say anything. They charged me this without saying anything or asking me for legal paperwork, certificates, or a product sample. I followed up over several phone calls and emails asking for clarification on what they require to actually be a seller. I never received a reply (even to this day). They just took my money and said nothing. Luckily I was able to dispute the charge and get my money back. For a farmers market that claims to care about "social impact," this behavior was unacceptable. My advice to any vendors would be to find farmers markets that are not quick to take your money and will actually communicate normally.

There were probably less than 10 vendors when I got here at 2pm. I'm not sure if I went on a slow day or if there were other vendors that had already sold out and left. If you were looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables, the options here were very limited. One vendor was selling only strawberries and another was selling nuts and citrus fruits. Other vendors that I saw sold honey and hummus. There were people walking around Jack London Square but they didn't seem interested in the farmers market. I felt bad for the vendors because the ones left looked like they still had a lot left to sell. I thought the vendors that were selling cooked food were doing much better since Plank was right next door and was packed with people watching the NFL playoffs. I would say the positives about coming here were the waterfront views. The other thing that caught my eye was how clean the floor was like there was no trash or squashed fruit on the ground that you had to avoid. This was not a farmers market I would want to go back to. It might be worth checking out if you were already in the area. You were better off saving your gas and time by going to the Old Oakland farmers market that opens every Friday on 9th street near Chinatown.

We purchased strawberries, blueberries and apples. We came towards the end of the market and the bakery vendor was selling their baked goods two for the price of one! This is a sweet market and I look forward to stopping by the next time in the area on a Sunday morning!

They also seem to have more turnover than the Marketplace, so it's fresher. Their organic Granny Smiths are some of the best I have had - crisp, slightly sour and super juicy. They also carry a variety of microgreens. Interesting small producers in the pantry section. The service is always friendly and efficient. Request: carry maitakes! Then I don't need to make multiple stops around the island. Easy to park around the Central/Oak area. I neglected you for a few a years but I am back!

Grabbed 무말랭이무침, 김밥, some Japanese seaweed salad, pantry staples like Laoganma, Korean sea salt, and our fav snack chips. Plus I got to visit Booktree (my annual pilgrimage when I am in town). My favorite vendors are Hummus Heaven, Fungi farms mushrooms and Donna's tamales. They also sell wonderful Asian vegetables and tons of delicious fruit. They only have one flower vendor with beautiful flowers at an affordable price. Best part is they are very generous with their samples so I always leave here full. Most vendors accept Apple Pay and credit cards. Every Tuesday and Saturday rain or shine. Parking can be challenging on Saturday.
