We came to this food hall after reading about it. It's a pretty cool place to get together with friends. I like the vibe here, the outdoor seating and live DJ! I saw Yip had good reviews and the menu sounded good, so I decided to order from here. There was a small line, which I was fine with, but I guess the person ordering in front of me had cut the line. I didn't actually notice, but the staff apologized which was nice. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Bao and the Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings. Definitely get the Soft Shell Crab Bao! I really liked the crunchy texture mixed with the bao bun. Plus I loved the spicy mayo sauce on top. It's my favorite. This was awesome and tasty. It's a stand out dish. I would definitely recommended skipping the Shanghai Soup Dumplings though because you only get three very tiny ones, and despite the big container, they were served touching each other and completely burst when I gently lifted them since they were still connected to the other dumplings. It was awful and the soup all poured out and was unrecoverable. How unfortunate! I 100% regretted this order. Who ever prepped this should have placed the tiny dumplings not touching each other -- there was ample space - then they would have had a fighting chance of not breaking. Total bummer. We always come to Yip for the soup dumplings, which are good and not too expensive. We have been here many times, but this time it was a disaster. We ordered four 3-piece Shanghai Dumpling baskets. Problem#1: they put the dumplings touching each other in the basket, and that makes then stick together, thus when you grab one it rips a hole and all the soup flows out. The main reason to order those dumplings is to savor the soup on a spoon with the dumpling next to it. Can't believe they did this blunder. Problem#2: the fillings of the dumplings were tasteless, and the texture was strange, absolutely a no-no for soup dumplings. I'm not asking Yip to raise to the level of Din-Tai-Fung, or even the soup-dumplings you can get at Trader Joe's, but don't serve me stuff I can't enjoy. Also Note: the price on the menu did not match the price on the check, Note: the price on the menu didn't mach the price on my check: each basket was about a $1 higher, a "mismatch" of 15%, not good. Yeap, Yip offers some great dim sum options in Wynwood. This food vendor is located in 1-800-Lucky. They take about 5-10 minutes making a few things while the dumplings in the steaming selection are made and ready to go. The steamers are pretty cool how they have set up. I would recommend getting: Har Gao 金蝦餃 Handmade shrimp dumplings. Or any sort of dumplings with other ingredients inside. They are so hot and literally steaming so be careful while eating them. In one order three comes so you can try other items as well. My friend and I also ordered: Flaring Shrimp Ballz 炸蝦丸: Shrimp hand-wrapped with crunchy strips. For me this was just ok but my friend loved the way it was made fried. I still would stick with the dumplings next time. They also have two types of teas which I would like to try in the future. My boyfriend actually surprised me with choice of food so I was delighted when he had gotten bao and spring rolls. This place is inside 1800-Lucky where there is a cafeteria style set-up with food stalls. You walk into the gate and immediately are in the patio area where there's lots of outdoor seating between tables and back yard style set ups. There is also a bar the runs from the outside into the inside. Once inside, you will see all the stalls and it's a bit overwhelming at first. Each stall and different style of options. There was ramen, rice bowls, dim sum, sushi, Peking duck - so take a lap before you decide! You order at the whichever place you'd like and they give you a buzzer to come back and get it when it's ready. And you grab your own utensils and drinks and find an open seat. The spring rolls are basic. Good and crispy. The bao bun was good. The shrimp was battered well. One of my favorite spots for boba and dim sum! I am blessed to live close and sometimes I come right when they open before work and even though they look at me crazy it is so worth the dim sum pick me up for breakfast. I usually get their sampler platter with different dim sum from their menu but my favorite is the pork Shumai. The brown sugar boba is sweet, packed and the boba is always made perfectly chewy. But the Aventura mall location had some evil people that put their spit on the food because they didn't receive a tip at the computer upon ordering and paying. How nasty and wicked. Yip is one of the booths in the 1-800-Lucky food hall in Wynwood. It is run by Gold Marquees Fine Chinese Cuisine in Pembroke Pines. At their booth you can order their award winning dim sum in the traditional bamboo steamers. We started our meal with their steamed BBQ pork buns. They are a little pricey at $6 for two but they were so delicious. Dumplings are made from scratch every morning. At this stall you can also order their shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, spring rolls, bao, and milk tea. They are opening another location soon in the Doral Yard. TLDR: A nice snack, but make your way around and get various dishes from all the other stalls too. ___ I've had dumplings from Yip a few times now. The soup dumplings are bomb. Three dumplings coming in an order and while $7 seems a bit steep, they are really good and you can't really get dim sum in a lot of places in Miami, so pay the $7. I've had a few other things like the shumai (shrimp dumplings) and the buns. The best way to do this is show up to 1-800 Lucky (the food hall the houses Yip) and everyone split up and get different things to share. Yip is especially good for sharing because you want to try various things and most orders come with various bites. The service has always been friendly. I will say I don' love all the businesses here automatically have tip option added when you swipe your card. You have to have a keen eye and switch it off if you don't want to tip. I usually tip - but considering there are no servers and they just give you a buzzer to come and pick up your order, that might turn some people off. read more

If you didn't know, Yip is located inside of 1-800-Lucky, a place I'm still on the fence about because of some rude service I've received. However, in regards to Yip, specifically they've got some great dim sum options. Is the food a good value worthy of the price? I'm not sure. Everything in Wynwood is a bit expensive. I wasn't expecting much from their XLB/ soup dumplings for $7 at first since when I ordered them, not a second later they were "ready". The 3 dumplings for $7 were actually rather small, but WOAH. They were actually delicious! And, on top of that, well made! The wrapping wasn't too thick, but held together wonderfully. The soup was plentiful and was sweet, savory, and hot. My only complaint would be for the soup spoons that were available. You get these from a shared utensil station in the food hall. They only had the circled plastic soup spoon which made for a poor device for catching the soup. No white ceramic soup spoons in sight, nor was there any soy sauce and/ or vinegar for dipping. I saw some of the stuff ordered by others -- chicken bao and some of the fried dumplings -- and they looked good. Honestly, probably one of the worst dim sum I've ever had. The food was just so underwhelming! Everything was either overly steamed or the freshness just wasn't there. I ordered quite a few things to try and nothing really jumped out at me like "wow" quite disappointed actually. The fact that they don't serve the sate or chili oil with their dim sum was odd to me! It's a must!! Okay so let me break it down to ya.. Softshell crab buns (1/5): these were horribly assembled. The buns never really stayed intact. The softshell crab was overly battered so you couldn't really taste the crab itself. And OMG that spicy aioli that accompanied was so overwhelming! Too creamy and too spicy. It needed some added crunch or a little tartness to lighten the dish but it only came with a stale cucumber slice drenched in sauce. Shrimp & pork xiu mai (1/5): the texture of the xiu mai was of an odd consistency. None of the wrappers really stayed intact either. The green wrappers didn't make it that much more appetizing either. The taste itself was bland and the texture was grainy. Did not like this one bit. We took a bite and left it behind. Shrimp & chive dumplings (2/5): I was actually looking forward to this bc I love shrimp and love chives! Great. Combinations. However, when the food came out it wasn't what I expected. The dumplings were quite chewy. The wrappers hardened really fast too so it wasn't pleasant to bite into. But the fillings were tasty. I just took the wrappers off and ate the fillings. Fried shrimp balls (4/5): can't really go wrong with this! C'mon it's just literally fried shrimp goodness. Nice and crispy. The sweet chili sauce accompanied it well. Xiaolongbao or soup dumplings (1/5): OMG THESE WERE THE WORST!! The wrapper was super thick and the filling was little to none. Tasted frozen too. Definitely not fresh made. And there wasn't any soup inside! It was quite dry for a soup dumpling! And the fact that ginger and vinegar wasn't provided, was clearly a mistake bc it's needed for soup dumplings! Overall, food was a miss for me. Nothing really stood out. Everything tasted chewy and was not fresh at all. Utterly disappointed. Located within the 1 800 Lucky and surrounded by other Asian food choices to buy from. We went here at lunchtime this past Friday. They opened at noon so small waiting group of people to get in. Me and my two friends got the shrimp dim sum and pork bun. The food came up quickly. Served in wicker type asian baskets this allowed the steam to escape and not get soggy. The shrimp dim sum was great nice flavor lightly wrapped. The pork bun had too much bun and very little pork see photo below. We didn't finish it. This place is a must have at 1-800 Lucky. Some of the best dumplings I have had in Miami, but their real rockstar is the soft shell crab bao bun. Perfectly crispy, savory, and delicious. Yip has really mastered the dumpling craft. Soup dumplings were also incredible, the cha siu baos were soft and packed with flavor. They've managed to make the spring rolls a perfectly crunchy exterior while keeping the inside deliciously juicy. All perfectly washed down with a sweet taro bubble tea. Yip's stall at 1-800-LUCKY marries the old-school dim sum stands found in San Francisco with some hipster love. I had my doubts, but I tried their xiaolongbao, and it tasted good. The juicy pork and explosion of juice -- nice. And decent Asian food in Miami is rare. So I gotta show love. Sure, they didn't have the 18 folds like at Din Tai Fung. However, if I'm going out in Wynwood and my inner-Asian is begging for non-Latin American eats, I'd hit this joint up again. Unfortunately, on a Sunday night, they only had Cha Siu Baos and XLBs available. This is definitely my go to place after a night of drinking in Wynwood. If the blaring music in the background and vibrant scene doesn't wake you up then try some of Yip's dishes! Sweet delicious carbs and the sweet chili sauce that comes with the Flaring Shrimp Ballz should help heighten your senses! Yip offers some of the typical Dim Sum dishes but in snack sizes that leaves you craving for more. While lines can be long, the food wait time is reasonable and the it comes out steaming hot so I suggest you get some Cold water in case you burn your tongue. The Har GAO and Shrimp Ballz are some of my favorites, and I like to order the Cha Siu Bao for the extra carbs and sweet roasted pork just to soak up the extra alcohol that may be lingering in my system. The fried shrimp and pork dumplings we had were incredibly tiny for the price and unfortunately not good. I am a HUGE Dim Sum lover. I especially love dumplings. But these were incredibly fishy for a SHRIMP and PORK dumpling. We also weren't very impressed with their Chicken and Mushroom Buns. The taste was ok, not that flavorful, and very little filling. There are even some stands with vegan ice cream. There is a mix of fist come first serve indoor and outdoor seating. But I digress, we visited specifically for dumplings and headed straight for Yip. You need to queue in a line, place your order, then they give you one of those devices that lights up when your order is completed. Yip's selection of options on the menu is not large, but large enough, and includes all the go-to items you would want to order. Our server was fast and efficient and our order came up quickly. The dim sum or dumplings are served in wicker baskets. The orders are on the smaller side, 3 pieces each, so you will want to order a few. We ordered shrimp, vegetable, shrimp and pork, and Shanghai soup dumplings. All were good ... but the soup dumplings were my favorite! We also had pork boa that was OK, it was the first time I had them. The next time I visit I think I will try some of the rolls because they looked really good. I am certain I will be back.
