Phenomenal delicious Thai cuisine tucked away in Bozeman. Excellent friendly service, very clean and spacious, with a relaxed atmosphere.

I've tried every Thai restaurant in Bozeman and Khanom Thai is easy the best and my new go-to spot when I'm craving Thai food. It's tucked away by the Hop Lounge off of Huffine and easy to find parking. The ambiance is excellent with cozy mood lighting, roses and great music. It's perfect for a date night, casual dinner or just takeout. Servers were attentive and service was excellent. Most importantly, the food is fantastic! The menu is huge with tons of options including a unique variety of warm and cold beverages. I tried the tofu pad Thai, which is my favorite dish, because I think you can tell a lot by a restaurant based on the pad Thai. The dish was classic- traditional toppings, perfect flavor and no crazy frills. Just a perfect plate of pad Thai! I ordered a 2 on the spice scale and it was perfect; just a hint of spice and I could tell that a 4 or 5 would have blown me away. Went during a slow time so easy to sit down. Restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. Overall it was good. Food tasted traditional and fresh. Tables plates, dinnerware, glasses, napkins, etc, fresh roses were all a step above most Thai places. There are a few oddities that I've not seen before: 1. Traditional plates that would always come with rice at other Thai places had to be ordered as a side (curry dishes, pad Thai, etc ....). At just shy of $20 it seemed odd to add in rice. 2. Summer roll was small and more expensive than most sushi rolls I've ordered. Price/quantity was off on this one and it didn't come with peanut sauce (available for up charge). 3. No fountain or on tap drinks; which actually is pretty common for Thai restaurants, but thought I'd note it. No refills on soda. 4. Portion size was ok. Overall this place was fine. Almost rated it as 3 star, but It was closer to a 4 star due to ambiance and nice staff. Portion size to price was the final element that kept it lower. read more

Thai restaurant in the Barn District half way between Four Corners and Bozeman. Medium sized interior. Doing good business on a weekend night. We got a table without a wait, but they were people waiting when we were done eating. Menu got the standard North America Thai restaurant selection but also has a few items I haven't seen. Got the Thai Ice Tea slushie and that was decent. For entree, I got the namya pou curry which is a spicy seafood curry with rice noodles. Has some heat but not too bad. Very flavorful with the coconut and creamy savoriness. No complaints about the taste, but 3 stars because the portion was pretty small. The price wasn't expensive, but it was the smallest portion entree I've gotten from a Thai restaurant in the US. Needed to get more food afterwards. read more

UNBELIEVABLE! One of the best Thai restaurants in the US and located in Bozeman, Montana. KHANOM THAI is a true gem, must try, delivering huge tasty flavor bombs. Hands down, one of my top 3 Thai restaurants ever. This cute, simple and clean space is located in a non-assuming building. The young staff is engaging, smiling and more than interested in your positive experience and dining pleasure. We needed to have more people join us so we can try more options. Selections here are not easy, it all looks good and my stomach is only so big. We started with the roti gang with beef in a mild curry. The roti is a mop to soak up the delicious sauce and wrap around the beef. An incredible dish. The Pad Thai has rice noodles, sauce, red onions, mung beans, chive, fried egg, peanuts and chicken. The sauce was generous, savory, scrumptious and not runny. One of my top three Pad Thai meals ever. Our final selection was the ground bison with spicy fried basil sauce, fried egg, rice and crispy basil leaves. Unique, tasty and remarkable! I can't say enough about this delightful find, Khanom Thai, open only three months. The value here is huge for the portion size. They will need a bigger space once the sunshine exposes this gem in the Montana wilderness. To the owners and staff, GREAT JOB AND SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD! The food took over 30 minutes to come out and it was not until after I rose to speak with the waiting staff that the food came out. The ambiance is acceptable, but the service and time taken for food took come was genuinely abnormal. Please keep this in mind if considering this restaurant. read more

Genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Service was terrible, our waiter didn't speak to us or come up to the table after taking our order. Food took over an hour to get to our table. Several bigger parties who ordered after us received their food well before ours. It was not a busy night. And the cherry on top? Some of the most mid tai food I've ever had with very small portions compared to other tai restaurants. Would not recommend. I guess the ambiance was alright. read more

Amazing! I've eaten at more Thai restaurants than I can count, and this is one of the very best. My wife and I were in Bozeman for two days and in the mood for Thai, so we came here. The service was great, and the people working there very welcoming. We ordered the Tom Ka, which was top notch, the roti gang, which was amazing, very rich and comforting, and the kra pao kai dao, alive with perfectly balanced flavors and spiciness (we went with level two, although we can handle higher - this gives the perfect touch of spiciness, distinctly present, but complementing the flavor rather than overwhelming it. It was so good, we went back the next day, craving more. This time we had the jungle curry, a wild mix of things, and more a soup than a sauce, but really delicious, and the crispy garlic chicken, which made my eyes roll back in my head in ecstasy. We live in Helena, a virtual Thai desert. Flying into BZN, we looked for a Thai takeout, and luckily found Khanom Thai. Located somewhat between the airport and Bozeman, this new restaurant is amazing! We ordered three meals, all excellent. I had the beef See Ew Noodles. Mild and superb! My son loved their chicken Pad Thai. My wife's red chicken curry was excellent but spicy. Best served with a cold beer to put the fire out! A fairly new business, the exterior looks like an auto repair shop, but the interior feels like a resort! Located in a growing area outside the Bozeman city limits, Khanom Thai is well worth the drive. It's now our go-to when in the area! read more

I ended up coming here with my family because they said it was a good place to eat. However, it ended up being one of the worst restaurant experiences I have faced. We were sat pretty much instantly but that was the end of the fast pass. We had to wait around 30 minutes before our server came over to take our drink order and by the time they came we were ready to order our food as well. Then it took another 30 minutes before we got our drinks and another 30 minutes before we got our appitizers. We ended up asking our server for the bill after the next 30 minutes passed for the appitizers and the drinks because our food still hasn't come out. We did end up getting our food as a take out ending with a total time of patients being around 2 hours. We got to the restaurant around 6:20PM and ended up leaving at 8:25PM. read more

We had such high hopes for this restaurant, especially because it's within walking distance of our home. We called for take-out and they said it would be 45 minutes. That's okay, we understand it's Christmas Eve. Husband showed up just before the 45 minute time and it was ready - great! When we opened it up we were greatly disappointed. 1) the portions were fairly small, the pumpkin curry was only about 2/3 of a small container and had 3-4 pieces of pumpkin and 2-3 basil leaves; 2) the food was just lukewarm, indicating it had been sitting there for a good amount of time.
