Come here often with my grandma and she loves it. Her favorite things here are the seafood udon and the teriyaki chicken bento. I love the chicken katsu! This trip we tried to new sushi rolls, the Dynamite and Lisa Lisa. They both where really good! Because of the ease and vicinity to home, my family likes to pop in for probably the most nutritious meal one can get fast when they don't have time to cook at home. This place was yummy, but not the best I ever had. They had a huge variety of specialty rolls for people who like the finer things in life. I ate the Lion Prince Roll and the Super Spicy Tuna Roll. Giving three stars for decent sushi and decent prices compared to other sushi places in this area. Two stars were taken off due to my experience today. I called in my order and the woman who answered the call sounded like she'd rather be anywhere else but there. She sounded like she was two seconds away from falling asleep. When we went to pick up our order, she was just as unenthusiastic in person. In addition, when we checked the order at home (maybe our mistake for waiting), she had taken the order wrong and gave us one less roll than we wanted. Not a big deal, mistakes happen - though her less than pleasant behavior made it more annoying than it usually would be. When I called to let them know we were missing a roll, she remained silent on the line after the initial hello, and I could tell she was annoyed that I called so I ended up hanging up after a long silence on the other end. I really hope she was just having a bad day and that she's typically not like this... It was very weird behavior and unfortunately, for Yo Sushi, this may put off potential future customers. read more

Not very good sushi for the price. 6 avocado rolls for $5 dollars. You can get much better sushi on solano at a place called kyoto, 12 rolls for $6. Very very very mid place. The ginger was not the best, wasabi lacking in flavor. It was okay just expecting a lot more. read more

This review IS ONLY for the new ramen menu. I ordered the tontoktsu soup base ramen ($10.45 with tax) that came with chasu, bamboo shoots, pickled veggie on the side, etc. It was not a good bowl of ramen. The broth, the heart and soul of a bowl of ramen, was disappointing. Not flavorful, not aromatic, and thin. In addition, 20% of the ramen noodles were still stuck together(obviously not properly drained properly) and over cooked), and THERE WAS NO BOILED EGG with the bowl. Upside, the two slices of chasu was okay. So for $10.45, this bowl of ramen was overpriced and not satisfying at all. Yo Sushi is cheap, and consistent, It's not Bad, or amazing. It's not where I would go to order sashimi/chirashi, it's the kind of place I would get fried things and maybe a roll for a decent price. I'm going to assume with lots of other reviewers here that they mostly have previously frozen fish and tempura. How you can tell is the fish doesn't smell or taste much (but clearly isn't "bad") it's basically Japanese fast food. I work close by, and could see myself coming here for lunch every couple months or so. Also, Tokyo fish market literally a block down the street with fresh fish, so I'm more likely to go there for take out on sushi. read more

Gross. I believe the two rolls I had were called Three Amigos and the Big Texan. Both were stuffed with imitation crab salad, though that wasn't shown on their menu wall. The texan roll was the circumference of a hamburger and sloppily constructed with something hard fried in the middle. The tuna on top of the other roll looked so dry and unfresh that I dared not eat it. The decor gave me pause when I walked in. They are not Japanese. At least 3-4 guys I saw in the front. The people were nice and the place was fairly busy. The spider roll said it has an entire softshell crab. I barely tasted any. The breading was jumbo and crab was barely seen. Please check it out yourself if you don't believe me. Food was underwhelming overall. I love quick and cheap, but I have no desire to go back. ***I called ahead but for some reason, they didn't know about my order. I jokingly said, "i'll wait, but can you get me something extra, like a seaweed salad?" A guy said, "maybe a soup..." They never got me anything extra. The hubs and I have made this our go-to, to-go sushi spot. We order from here at least two times a month. In fact, I don't think we've ever actually eaten inside though, haha. It's like a seven minute drive from our apt. The food is always hot and you get A TON, regardless of what you order. I believe the 2-item special bento to be the best bang for your buck at this place. Lunch or dinner, you can pick two items off their selected menu (salmon/chicken teriyaki, CA rolls, gyoza, sushi, etc. You get rice, a spoonful of like a potato salad (not my fave), and a generous helping of whatever of the two items you picked for your box. If you get the tempura, you get many veggie pieces and one shrimp. I've had a few of the rolls here as well and I have yet to be disappointed. Unfortunately, sometimes the wait for the order is like crazy long. I can appreciate the fact that they are making everything fresh and by hand, so of course, that takes time. I would suggest though if you're wanting something to-go, call your order in ahead of time. You can swing by and pick it up and be in and out. On a really busy day, your order might take awhile, so plan accordingly. read more

The rice has the perfect balance of firmness and the unagi on top was seasoned to perfectly complement the avocado and crab inside, which, I add, are equally splendid. As a side, I was given a bowl of miso soup as a compliment and loved it. The staff are extremely friendly and the environment is really nice. There are many anime, KPop, and other Asian culture references which many people may enjoy as a side. Living just two blocks away, I can see myself coming very often for lunch or dinner. We came here on a whim, my boyfriend and I, and I cannot tell you how pleasantly surprised I was. The service was quick, very friendly, and thoughtful (they gave us water cups while we waited for our food to-go). They told us it'd be 20 mins for 3 rolls, it ended up taking less than 10! As we sat waiting, I noticed the surroundings were very clean. And, I'm assuming, because of the time (around 5pm on a Tuesday), it was less crowded for a sushi place (a plus for me!). The ambiance was lively and friendly. From other pictures you will find the colorful walls and tables. On top of the quality service, I was in sushi heaven once we got home! Here on a Monday evening with two kids. Sitting outside which is great for parents like me with a 5 year old and a toddler. Food was delicious we had a magic balls, jalapeño shooters, volcano roll, spicy tuna, two way teriyaki bowl and angry lion king and miso ramen. I'm standing at the counter for a minute and when I'm getting ready to order, the young gal decides to put a sign that says only orders to go. Why would I take sushi to go? Looks like I will never come back here. I think it was rude of her to do that. She could have said something instead of just placing it there. I did like their generous servings and the chicken teriyaki combo my son got looked really good and he really enjoyed it.. A big too much for him.... As far as sashimi goes... Good variety but must agree that fish was a bit too soft... Which mean not so fresh... My wife and I were OK with it considering the price. I would say you don't only get what you pay for...
