I'm not very excited.. I went and the flavor choices were minimal. They had vanilla, sugar free vanilla, caramel, sugar free tart and a few other basic flavors. They did have a huge selection of toppings. But honestly, I go to Menchie's all the time and their tart flavor is wayyy better tasting. The tart here had an unpleasant after taste. And the fruity pebbles I put on top seemed like the off brand, not as flavorful. Overall I wasn't impressed. But the place was clean, and actually filled with people! The service was good. one of my favorite sweet treats is frozen yogurt, so ever since my boyfriend and i moved to sacramento, we've been to yo-yo yogurt lots of times! they do have a limited offering, but some of their flavors do change weekly. they sometimes post new flavors on their instagram, but it's always best to call ahead if you're looking for specific ones. it's nice that they let you sample, and they also offer pup cups. there's seating inside and outside the store. the staff is friendly, and it seems like they have a lot of regulars! - non fat eurotart (5/5): sweet and tart! it did taste a little different than eurotarts/original tarts at other froyo shops, but i loved it. it had that tangy eurotart flavor but with a different aftertaste. it reminded me of the vietnamese yogurt (sữa chua) my mom would make at home, which is probably why i enjoyed it so much - pineapple dole whip (5/5): one of my favorite flavors! it was refreshingly tart and fruity, exacty like pineapple - cherry dole whip (3.5/5): very refreshing, like a popsicle or a cherry-flavored icee, although i thought the red cherry flavor was a little too much - lime dole whip (4/5): a little too sour for me, but my boyfriend loves lime so he really enjoyed this flavor. it was exactly how you would expect a lime sorbet to taste - non fat chocolate (4/5): the chocolate flavor was strong, so it tasted more like a sweet dark chocolate than milk chocolate. it was very tasty and chocolate-y, but i prefer creamier chocolates - non fat vanilla (4/5): a regular vanilla - good if you want something basic and familiar - mr smith's vanilla custard (5/5): it definitely had a custardy flavor that set it apart from the regular vanilla, which also made it thicker than the other yogurts. really yummy! - non fat mixed berry (5/5): sweet and creamy, like a berry smoothie or gogurt. this one was more in line with the kinds of froyo flavors i usually go for, and i really enjoyed it! - non fat root beer float (5/5): tasted just like root beer! i really liked this flavor because even though the root beer flavor was present, it wasn't as strong as actual root beer and it was very creamy the best part about yo-yo yogurt is the huge topping selection, and this is what sets them apart from other shops! they have all my favorites (bananas, mochi, crushed peanuts) and plenty more. i love to get peanut butter chips here, which a lot of other places don't offer. besides the toppings, the price is great. we usually pay $3-4 for a filling cup. make sure you sign up for their rewards to get coupons every so often. yo-yo yogurt is now a weekly staple for us, and we'll definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I come here really often because he lives really close by. The employees here are always super sweet, even though sometimes we come in right before closing, which as someone who works in food service, I know that can be frustrating but they never show it. The frozen yogurt is always really good, I know I've been to some spots where we'll be a little bit melted sometimes but I've never had that here, it's always nice texture and they have a huge range of toppings with really good cookie dough. They have a slightly smaller range of yogurt flavors themselves but they are good quality. So I was at YoYo Yogurt today with my grandson. I have been going twice a week for the past 13 years. It has been a wonderful family gathering place for so many people and the yogurt is delicious. It was the owner's birthday today and someone brought her a bottle of wine in honor of her birthday because she is so well liked. Marque, the owner, is a very generous and sweet woman. I like that Yo-Yo is open late. But if you're in this area of Sac and you want froyo you might as well skip this place and go to Menchie's instead. I wish Yo-Yo Yogurt would get a suggestion box for flavours. 'Cause I've been here many times and sometimes they have two types of vanilla and two types of chocolate--- great... four out of the eight options they have are the same. Have some variety. But the froyo itself does taste good. There is quality to it, but they need to diversify their flavours. Also, the staff here could really work on their customer service. Every time I've been here the staff is less than friendly.. And I've been here 10+ times. Like, the staff has a very "why are you talking to me" type of attitude. I've often seen them on their phones right at the register in front of customers. And when you're there to weigh your yogurt or ask for a sample it's like you're bothering them even though it's their job. I've stopped coming to Yo-Yo as the past few times over a few weeks they just had the same flavours taking up space and the same bad attitude. I've been going to Menchie's down the road instead. They're also open late and their customer service is better and there's more flavour variety. Menchie's has twelve flavour options (that's four more than Yo-Yo). Menchie's has variety. She fell down to the ground, dropped her yogurt, and I feel that door is very dangerous and should be fixed. My favorites are mixed berry and vanilla custard. Right now they have pumpkin and it's perfect for fall! They have TONS of topping selections and they're always well stocked and look fresh. The shop is always clean and you'll see staff constantly cleaning and wiping down surfaces. And shout out to Kayla-- Last time I was here she was literally on the ground scrubbing the floor. Discovered this little gem of an frozen yogurt place not far from my house. It has its own charm and not the commercialized feeling at many other yogurt chains. The flavors were all good- Mr custards vanilla is a winning favorite of mine and they have a lot of variety of flavors for all different tastes. They have some rotating flavors to keep it exciting. My baby got his first taste of no sugar added sorbet here and loved it. The toppings are well done, my favorite the cookie dough tastes so natural and delicious (comparing this to menchies or yogurt land where it tastes processed). They even started adding dog frozen yogurt treats :D It's really the only place I want to go when I get my after dinner cravings for something sweet. read more

I've never been to a frozen yogurt self serve place that doesn't charge per weight but this one. I guess this was my bad and I should have read the menu but I got my kid a half filled cup thinking it was the standard. He also wanted the blue cup instead of white so no worries they weigh it -wrong lol so I got charged for two larges because he wanted the blue cup. They also don't let you put your own toppings on with the Sprinkles and such. I get it for the kids making a mess sake, but the lady who did it kind of pushed for me to also get Sprinkles (the cost is dependant on toppings and sizes) so that makes sense now. Decided to check out this place. Interior decor in my opinion was sloppy, looked very diy, BUT it was clean. I wish there were more yogurt options, flavors were very basic. When it was time for me to pay up front I had to wait for quite a while because the lady owner was sitting chatting with her friend at the only table in the entire shop, ignoring any customers. I love this place for frozen yogurt! It's right across from loehman's plaza. I go there just for the dairy-free options. They usually have a pineapple flavor and then another flavor. When I went it was a coconut milk frozen yogurt. They have plenty of options for toppings. I usually just go for the fruit toppings that are available. I've never had any issues with parking. I waited for weeks and weeks for this place to open and was so excited when it finally did! It is one of those self-serve yogurt places where the flavors change on a regular basis. The sample cups are stacked by the register, so you don't feel like a hog wanting to try every single flavor - you can help yourself to as many as you like. I love that part. Anyway, the flavors that seem to be constant are chocolate, vanilla and Euro tart - a very natural, tarty tasting yogurt. All the flavors that I've had there have all been nonfat. Not that it tastes nonfat! What I like is that it is close to my work. Whenever I get a craving, I zip on down. It is also two doors down from Peet's coffee, so if you are meeting someone for coffee and happen to be a few minutes early, you can indulge yourself. The reason I give it four stars instead of five is that the consistency of the yogurt is more melty than I would like. If you compare it to, say, Big Spoon, it is a lot softer and the consistency is not the same. Just a personal preference. read more
