Ok. ok. so I finally caved to the allure of the tanghulu. I been seeing these candy fruit sticks pop up on my instagram and facebook and I know a friend or 2 who have reviewed and raved about this treat. One of my youth group kids' mom got a few for us to try. It was pretty sticky so make sure you have wet wipes or be very diligent about holding your stick. We pushed the fruit off using a fork so everyone could try but I decided I needed my own cause it was too good. Yes! it was still open. Short line (cause it was like 10 mins til close) but still a pretty good wait, and I anticipated being able to get my own stick of strawberries...Nope, sorry to deflate my bubble but it was sold out. So I ended up getting the mandarin orange and red grape. Not even close to the burst of strawberry I anticipated but I'm glad I was able to try these. The grapes were nicely coated but the oranges, not so much. I don't think I would get the oranges again. The candy gave a nice crunch and with every piece of fruit I could feel the sugar spiking inside of me. I did share the oranges but because it ended up taking a while, everyone was pau with dessert by the time I came back. It is easy to spend more than you think you're spending, especially if you buy more than one stick of tanghulu. I didn't know this place had frozen yogurt too but I had blinders on and just got the fruit. When I come back, I'll try something else and definitely not wait until closing cause I need me those strawberries! I am intrigued about the honeycomb too so we'll see what happens next time. read more

I've been seeing Tanghulu all over my social media and have been dying to try it. Luckily, I don't have to make it myself. Thanks to Yoajung! They have different Tanghulus available. I got a typical strawberry one. The strawberries were fresh and were generously coated with the hardened sugar. I also ordered a small yogurt from them as well. They have different toppings available. You can choose from the different combinations on the menu or make your own. The only thing I hoped for were different yogurt flavors. There was only one. Which I enjoyed, but my fiance did not. They also sell packaged honeycombs. But if you don't want to invest in one, don't worry, you can get it on your yogurt as a topping. I thought this place was pretty good. But a little pricy for what it is. So this is a once in a while type of place. read more

yoajung has been on my to-go list for seoul but when i saw there was a US location i was so excited to try it. and boy am i glad i went- what we got was sooo yummy! the froyo is very similar to plain tart (which i love), but thicker and less sweet (which complemented the honey and fresh strawberries super well). the owner was also so so sweet and gave us an extra tanghulu! i'm honestly not a huge tanghulu fan because the sugar coating is usually done too thick but this one was so well done: the strawberries were juicy and the sugar layer on the outside was thin, making it super enjoyable and palatable. i'd literally pay my own money to eat it again lol. thank you to the sweet owner and i 100% will be coming back again! read more

I was seeing others walk around the mall with it and I had to ask where they got it and they directed me to this place!!! I totally get the hype on these things. They really are delicious. I think this is the only actual frozen yogurt spot in town now, so it definitely hit the spot for my froyo craving. It is quite pricey, and you're limited in customizing the flavors and toppings. The staff prepares your order quickly, but it's not the same as assembling the froyo flavors and toppings yourself. My stick came with 3 large strawberries, but I've seen others with probably 5-6 smaller strawberries. They were sold out of the grapes when we got there.. This was a different ice cream place the last time I was here and I met Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees here!!! I think it was called Somisomi. Now this place is a totally different dessert place called Yoajung. We did not try any of the yogurts. My kids specifically only wanted tanghulu. We went to a bunch of tanghulu places that day and they were all closed!!! Luckily this place at the mall was opened so my kids were super happy. We ordered 3 sticks and it was $15 total. Not bad! I hope I am not mistaken lol. According to my budgeting I wrote I spent $15 here and there are 3 sticks in the picture below lol. The staff was very friendly that is important to us. Nice staff will always bring patrons back. Nice staff will drive word of mouth and bring traffic. There are no seatings. You order from the window outside. The windows are see through so you can see everything they do. My kids said these were probably their new favorite tanghulu on the entire island! My friend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a treat since we were walking around the mall. It's a cute, bright storefront, but it is a take-out window only. The cashier was really friendly and let us know we could ask her any questions. I've seen good reviews about this place for their frozen yogurt, and initially, that's what we wanted to try, but when we got there, it seemed pretty expensive. A regular frozen yogurt was about $6.99, and toppings were an additional cost. I think it ranged from $1.00 to $2.50, I can't remember, but there were LOTS of toppings to choose from and knowing me, I'd want to pick a lot so it would probably end up costing a lot more. Then we saw they had tanghulu! I remember seeing some reels on IG, and I've always wanted to try, so I was happy to try some. They had strawberry, red and green grapes, and mandarin oranges. We got the strawberry and green grapes. I believe the strawberry was $4.99, and the green grapes were $3.99. We couldn't find a place to sit down and eat since the food court was super busy, so we just found a place to stand and eat. The tanghulu was so pretty and very interesting. It's some type of sugary coating on fruit skewers. We tried to share the strawberry and grapes, but it was really hard, so I ate the green grapes, and my friend had the strawberry. The coating on the tanghulu was really thick. While it tasted pretty good, the coating got stuck in my teeth, and it was hard to eat. I'm not sure if the coating is supposed to be that thick. It also got more difficult to eat since the fruits were on a skewer, so your face would end up getting sticky because of the coating. I tried breaking the fruits apart with a plastic spoon, but it was so thick that it was hard to break unless I really smashed it or bit into it. My friend said the strawberry was too big to eat, so it would have been easier if the strawberries were smaller. I think his skewer had 2 small and 2 large strawberries. My skewer had about 5 - 6 small grapes. While the concept of tanghulu is great and it did taste pretty good, I do feel that if the coating was a little thinner, it would've been easier to eat. The coating getting stuck in my teeth and being hard to bite was just a bit off-putting. I don't think I'd be back to try the tanghulu again, but the froyo did look good, so I'll probably try that next time. read more

I knew I made the right choice when the first spoonful of froyo went into my mouth. Tart, creamy, and perfect for a sweet fix after Kbbq. The froyo was so smooth too, gliding on my tongue. The flavor reminds me of the Beijing yogurts I sip on from time to time. The classic tart flavor pairs well with many toppings so I decided on strawberries, which ended up being the perfect tangy combination I craved. My friends got the Yoajung special which came with honeycomb on top! The honeycomb was so subtle but added a lovely sweet flavor and sticky texture to the contrasting flavor and texture of the yogurt. Just to be fair, I think there might be better choices than what we got, which was the strawberry tanghulu and a little bite of the honeycomb (we were curious!). I've been hunting for a good tanghulu since we had one at Honolulu skewer house, and my gf spotted this shop that opened where Somi Somi used to be! But their specialty seems to be the yogurt, which we didn't try. The tanghulu was just okay. The coating was hard and thick and caked into my teeth. The strawberries were huge, like costco size, and super sweet which would normally be great, but combined with the sugar coating it was too sweet. I think smaller pieces of fruit and a thinner coating would help a ton. Maybe the tangerines would be better? Or it might be good with the yogurt. And the honeycomb, which I was just really curious about, was just straight up honey. I don't know what I expected lol. It was a toothache and then I was chewing on a piece of beeswax. Again, maybe it needed the tart froyo to balance it out, but then I'd have hard wax to chew on. Gonna come back to try the froyo and a tangerine tanghulu and see if that changes my review. read more

If I could give this 20 out of 5 stars, I would. I love love love asian style froyo, and this was was the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness. As another Yelper commented, I too have had froyo in Asia and the Bay Area, and this is the best froyo I've had in a long time. I came at 7:58pm on a Monday, and wasn't shooed away even though closing time is 8pm. I could feel the warmth from the owner's smile as he prepared the day's special for me. Lol, I used to work at Haagen Dazs...at 7:58pm, we definitely said no more people at that time and shooed people away. Nothing wrong with that either though! Back to the froyo! Besides the perfect flavor and texture, this yogurt reigns supreme because there was no weird aftertaste which happens to me at most froyo places. Just the smooth clean taste of yumminess!!! Add the honeycomb (also no bitterness, all tasty) and today's special fruity pebble topping, alllllll perfection. Some may say this cost is too much, but when we look at how much you get charged at other high quality dessert places, it's on par. AND TOTALLY WORTH IT. Ala Moana has a new dessert player in the former SomiSomi location. Yoajung serving up frozen yogurt soft serve with local honeycomb. What I liked? The local honeycomb is delicious and the frozen yogurt soft serve is nicely balanced with a little tart flavor. What I didn't like? The price. $8.99 for the signature is overpriced. The frozen yogurt barely breached the brim of the cup. They could definitely be more generous with the frozen yogurt for the price they are charging. The signature comes with a free topping of the day, but it's not a choice, if you don't like the free topping oh well. Go or No Go? Sadly for me, Yoajung is a no go. If honeycomb is your thing this might be for you, otherwise there are much cheaper options for frozen yogurt that is similar. read more

Randomly found Yoajung when we were driving through Ala Moana Shopping Center to get to a different shop. After seeing tanghulu on TikTok and IG for months, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a try! It was 10:15 am on a Sunday so there was no line and we were greeted immediately. I think we were a little too early so we only had strawberry and green grape to choose from. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount that was given for the price ($4.99 for the strawberry and $3.99 for the green grape) and the quality of the fruits.
