We love grabbing milk tea here as our daughter has practice nearby. There's never a wait and the milk teas with boba are fresh and tasteful as well as reasonably priced. This is a cute cozy mom and pop cafe. There is seating for about 9 people. Parking is in the Blackfield Building across Inspiration Furniture. The menu mostly features teas, bubble drinks and smoothies. But, today we were looking for breakfast and when we saw some of the pictures on yelp, we decided to give it a go. We ordered the strawberry soufflé pancakes, Ube bubble waffle, summer rolls, a black iced coffee, and a lychee tea with rainbow jelly. Normally, I don't care for pancakes, cause I feel so tired after I enjoying them, but, today was different. The strawberry soufflé pancakes were light and a strawberry sauce was not overwhelming. We really enjoyed it and wiped the sauce, clean off the plate The Ube bubble waffle was fun to eat, and I love the fact that they have the sauce on the side so you can dip as you go. What I especially loved was the little crunch around the edges. Hubby loved the black iced coffee which he said was bold in flavor. My lychee iced tea was a little sweet for my taste, but you didn't have to twist my arm to finish it all. Overall service was friendly and the young lady at the cash register was more than happy to help us with suggestions. The reason for the 4 star rating is because the parking in the building is $3 for any portion of an hour. Will be back to try another flavor of soufflé pancakes and their pork dumplings! read more

Since it is a cafe, there isn't much of a big meal menu for meat nor much vegetarian options. Lots of cute desserts or brunch type of dishes. I arrived during lunchtime at 12 pm and they promptly took my order. My pancake dish and cold coffee drink was served within 20 minutes. Very filling and delicious. I found out on IG that this cafe was known for their soufflé pancakes, so I decided to stop by on our last day in Hawaii. It has been years since I've had soufflé and I remember not being that impressed with it. I believe a good soufflé pancake must be fluffy and can hold its shape, especially after you cut into it. I decided on the Matcha Cream w/ Azuki Bean and it was quite flavorful. Not only was the matcha not overpowering, the soufflé was extremely soft and fluffy. Very impressed with the quality and that the matcha was not super sweet. The red beans paired well with this dish. The business itself is very small with limited seats available. It is very clean and was not busy when we came on a Thursday at 8:30am. They are only opened Thursday-Sunday between the hours of 8:30am-1:30pm. Street parking is available nearby. read more

I went to this café to get Boba tea and ordered the brown sugar Boba milk tea. I ordered this all the time when I go to Boba places with my first sip I thought it tasted a little off and sour maybe but I shrugged it off. Then I took my second sip, and it was super sour. I asked them about it and another customer who also ordered the Brown sugar Boba, milk tea overheard and said that his taste tasted sour too. Eventually, after testing their ingredients, they told us that the brown sugar was expired and gave us each a new one at first. It tasted fine, good enough that I left the store and drove away, but then I drank a piece of Boba and when I bit down on it, it was hard and crunchy. The staff was nice and understanding, but it is not acceptable for so many of the items to be spoiled and served to customers. read more

Have been seeing Yelp friends checking in and posting pictures of their souffle pancakes. The topic came up in conversation with a friend today, thought it was about time I tried them. Since they do take a few minutes to assemble, I called to order while on my way. This is what I found: The nice girl over the phone recommended the chocolate cream soufflé pancakes as it was their #1 flavor, followed closely by the boba soufflé pancake. So this is what I got the #1. I had read that it took about 20 minutes to prepare so was surprised when I arrived 7 minutes after calling that my order was already packaged and waiting. Unfortunately, when I took my first and subsequent bites...just 5 minutes after picking up...I was disappointed to find chilled, deflated, rubbery pancakes...making me wonder if it was previously made and set aside? It was far from my favorite. Picture taken in the store, BEFORE leaving (2 out of 5). Had also saw tea eggs on the menu so ordered a handful of those. While they were flavorful from the soy sauce, they lacked the umami and depth of flavor which I have come to look forward to in tea eggs. They could have benefited from some additional Chinese seasonings (4 out of 5). Surprisingly, favorite item of the sampling was the slice of castella cake which I picked up as an afterthought. With multiple flavors to choose from, selected the nicely garnished one with a slice of cheese in the middle. Took this one home and chilled in the fridge until ready to consume. Per the shop's instructions, heated ever so gently in the microwave for 15 seconds. Delicious, tender, castella with the perfect balance of subtley sweet and savory. I would be happy to return for this one (4.5 of 5). As the counterperson did mention, must really come back to eat the souffle pancakes assembled and served in shop for the ultimate experience. Might have to return for their special of the month, their ube souffle pancake or the boba brown sugar one which is on their regular menu. After that disappointing souffle pancake tho, I may pass on the pancake. Will possibly be back to try more savory Taiwanese snacks. I'm really disappointed with my experience at Cloud Nine Cafe. The food looked great in pictures and sounded delish on paper, but they were very poorly executed. First, we went there for the soufflé pancakes, so we were really looking forward to that. We ordered the Mango Cream w/ Pineapple and Lihing Mui Powder for $14.29. We got the food to go because there was only five or six seats and they were all taken by one group. When we finally got the chance to sit down in our car and eat the food, we saw that they forgot to add the mango cream on top of the pancakes. I don't know how the workers even missed that because it looks SO different with the mango cream. You bet it tasted off too... like eating some bland cake. We were already too far to go back to ask them to rectify the situation but very upset that we paid $14.29 for that. Second, we got the Taiwanese castella cake ham sandwich with chip. The chip was just a bag of chips... not even homemade chips. The "sandwich" looked and tasted so sad with one thin slice of ham, a few pieces of lettuce, a few slices of avocado, and one slice of American cheese. While castella cake serving as the "buns" for a sandwich sounds unique, the combo does not match at all! I really don't recommend anyone to get it. If anything, try the pancakes because there's still a chance they'd make it right for you. read more

Located outside Waikiki area, cloud 9 is my favorite spot for this trip. They have this soufflé pancake which so soft like a cloud! We chose the caramel macadamia nuts one that comes with 3 pancake. Also tried their brown sugar milk tea with mini boba. Decoration in the store is very cute but only have 4 seating for the store, so not for the big party.
