They offer a full schedule 7 days a week with lots of different class options and times. The facility is clean, with full showers and locker rooms. I train and instruct Jiu-Jitsu locally. It has been my passion for over a decade, I love it so much shortly after I received my black belt I started having serious problems with my hip and lower back. I have taken 4 classes so far and I feel so good! Signed up for pain management and I need to lose about 150 lbs. For me, this is much more fun than the gym and just being in the hot room you are guaranteed a very sweaty workout, all you have to do is follow along the best you can! . Intense but it felt much more gentle on my body than unnatural metal workout machines. All shapes, genders and ages. Variety of super fun classes. Genuine and inspiring instructors. I cannot say enough good things about Yoga Hell in Petaluma. I am SO THANKFUL for this space, the amazing and inspiring owners and teachers, the community, the vibe, the decor, the music, the energy, and of course the DOGGIES! you are always greeted first by a four leg cutie, and then by a friendly human. I have been practicing bikram yoga now for 22 years, and I was heart broken when our bikram yoga studio closed in Cotati. I made the switch in 2018 and have always been a happy camper there. The studio is keep incredibly clean- it never smells- (I have visited studios that could knock over a cow with the stench) bathroom /showers/changing room are always spotless- LOVE the character art depicting the 26 bikram yoga poses- i hope one day to have one in my home ;) The only thing i can really say i would like to see different is more bikram 90 classes in the evening/ and friday. There is something for everyone with hot pilates with weights, and different types of Yoga. I, however am all about classic Bikram. I am SO GRATEFUL for the amazing Lynn Whitlow (and Jeff of course) Lynn commands the best in me- pushes me to a better practice, with technical advice and wisdown. I came from a studio that was very hands on with corrections- and i always want to keep improving and be Pushed. I have texted her several times after a Lynn class to say WOW that was unbelievable and THANK YOU so much. DO NOT get the Groupon. What's stated on the Groupon doesn't coincide with this places system and what they think the deal is about . I've got my Groupon turned down twice because groupon says one thing and this place says another. Then each time the person at the desk tells me just to buy the $99 for two months.. I came to try this place out before making any membership purchasing decisions but couldn't even try it! Their miscommunication between their rules/stipulations on the deal and that of Groupons does not work and has helped me make my decision to not join. They also said my Groupon was expired . Today 3/10/18 Groupon shows on voucher 4/26/18. It's a very nice place inside and the instructors seemed great. Hands down the best yoga studio and the most intense workout you can do. They take all of the precautions needed to feel comfortable going to classes during the pandemic. Personally I love the inferno classes they have to offer, but their is a wide variety of other super rewarding classes to take!! The hot room is so fun to be in and all of the instructors make you feel so comfortable while still giving you the killer workout you came to accomplish. I recommend this studio to everyone and anyone of all skill levels. Super cute studio. To be fair to the studio bikram bores me to death. I love power yoga because it seriously makes me hurt the next day and it is constantly changing. Plus the music helps the ninety minutes go by quickly. As an endurance athlete I really need yoga but I don't want to feel like I have to drag myself to studio. Ok, back to the review. Bikram Yoga Petaluma is super cute, the instructors are all extremely nice, and there is none of that pretentious bikram yoga attitude that I have encountered at every single yoga studio I have visited. Unfortunately I decided not to continue my membership. Here are the reasons: Costs- Bikram Yoga Petaluma is pretty expensive. I can go to Bikram Yoga San Rafael unlimited for $99 a month. BYP is considerably more expensive than that. I asked about a teacher's discount because everyone knows teachers are poor - they wouldn't discuss a discount. Wouldn't you rather have me give $80 a month then $0? ( $130 a month for a yoga than I am not in love with? Definitely not.) Heat- I barely broke a sweat in the studio. Maybe I am a yoga snob but after going to bikram studios in San Francisco, Marin, and Palo Alto where it is so hot you think you are going to pass out to BYP where I was actually shivering at some points, it was quite a shock. Cleanliness- There are always flies flying around the studio. I hate when I am trying to hold a pose and a fly will not leave me alone. Other than the annoying pests the studio is super clean. Outdoor shower! Great at certain times of the year, freezing cold in the early morning. Cool either way though. BYP could be a great place if you are a yoga fanatic and have a couple extra bucks to spend. I would definitely encourage yogis in Petaluma to give it a try. read more

This was by far the strangest yoga experience i have had over my short 5 year term practicing yoga. If you are into mindfulness-based yoga practice focused on union of body mind and soul, and growing the bodies capacities gradually and with love... this is definitely not the place for you. I don't want to say this place is "bad", because I'm sure there are many people out there who benefit from this place and love it, and it serves them where they are in their practice and in their life... but if you are looking for a mindfulness experience, please save your time. To be fair, this was my only Bikram experience ever, and I'm not sure if all bikram is like this... if so, well... i'm just not into bikram. But by the gangster rap playing when I walked in, I gather there is something entirely "special" about even this particular bikram spot. I have been coming to Yoga Hell since moving to Petaluma in 2018. For me, this is the best workout to really sweat it out and feel grounded. Since re-opening after the worst of the pandemic, the studio has been spruced up inside. Seems more spacious and modern, still a fun and funky vibe. I appreciate the consistency of the 9:00 a.m. Bikram 90, seven days a week. I'd love if they had an evening 90min. a couple of evenings each week. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I came here because it has childcare and showers. I needed to be able to do yoga at the end of summer and bring my kids. They have a variety of teachers who are great although I love having the same teacher when possible. They have a lot of dedicated yogis who attend which is great. They do have plenty of showers so everyone who wants one can get one. The classes were pretty full, I know it's good for the studio but its hard when the class is too busy for me. The people and teachers are really nice though. I did get injured on my fifth class, they have you do triangle on a bare floor, the only time I didn't turn my towel which they don't encourage I slipped on the bare floor "some kid of slippery velvet material" and herd a pop in my hamstring. I know this can happen at anytime but it's never happened to me in Bikram with 2 years of practice at one point. I hate to say this but the room is VERY smelly, I tried to ignore it but I think the sweating on the bare floor is growing bacteria, it smells like bad stinky feet. I hope they can remedy this. read more

I used to practice here back in 2014 regularly and recently used a groupon as a new student which applies if you haven't gone in over a year. I enjoyed the studio back in 2014 but it has gotten much better since I returned. Although the studio hasn't changed with construction or by making any huge changes to the building, they have made several more subtle changes that I really appreciate: 1) The schedule is much more flexible in both time and variety. They have earlier classes, later classes and even non-Bikram classes. I really enjoy the hot Pilates class. I'd never done Pilates before and boy do they beat you up here. What a great workout! Plus you've got some fun beats playing while you struggle. 10/10 would recommend 2) the staff has largely changed over the years so it was a lot of new faces. Not that their was anything wrong with the previous staff, the new staff is full of friendly people who run a solid studio with a warm and inviting mentality. 3) the client demographic has become more diverse too. It used to be mostly people 40 or older practicing here. Now, I see a lot of younger faces. I think this has to do with the new class styles and extra time slots. Also, the staff is on the young side too so I think that helps make the studio more inviting to the younger folks. 4) they added lights to the workout room. This can be distracting sometimes if you are going for a calm and focused class but it also adds some fun to the classes with music. 5) it might just be me but I remember the Bikram classes here being hotter back in 2014. Don't get me wrong, of all the different Bikram studios I have been to Petaluma was notorious for being hotter than I liked. My fingers felt like they were burning when I would raise my hands in the standing series. Now, it is still hot (obviously) but much more manageable and closer to what other studios keep the room at. 6) more parking, thank god Overall, I have been very impressed with this studio and all the new staff. Been meeting my yoga needs for years! I have been coming to this studio for over 5 years- maybe 6+... As a full time working mom, the class offerings allow me to get workouts in when I can- early in the morning (5:30 am), later in the evening (8pm) and middle of the day when I can. They have a wide variety of offerings. Inferno Hot Pilates is a high intensity class with pilates based moves. I used to think this class was all physical for me and didn't address my mental needs, but I find when I "leave it all on the mat" I sometimes have a therapeutic cry on the way home. I think it is because I have nothing left to keep pushing down whatever is bothering me. Bikram yoga is not my favorite type of yoga and it took me a while to get used to it, but I do feel good and have better energy after a Bikram class. I do like the Bikram Beats class more than Bikram. This class has disco/low lights and music- like most classes at Yoga Hell, except Bikram. I was more used to Vinyasa yoga- which I love! So the Bikyasa classes are a great mix of Bikram and Vinyasa. Plus they have other class offerings sprinkled in the schedule or offered as a workshop. The owners are very concerned with their clients needs and are always making tweaks and improvements to meet the needs/wants of their clients. They have bathrooms, lockers, changing room, showers, and drinks for purchase. Some classes have childcare. They have different memberships available- in person only and/or virtual options (live and recorded sessions). The instructors are all friendly and very welcoming. Any level can start any class, just make sure to listen to your body and take break when needed. read more

After being here years ago (for the 90 minute Bikram only) then taking a break, I came back and have been blown away by the new variety of classes with the same high standard of excellence in environment and energy. The teachers are all skilled and dedicated, each with their own personalities that make classes fun and challenging in unique ways. The studio is clean and inviting, with safe locker room areas and outdoor showers that are refreshing and well tended. I feel cared about and comfortable here; whether in a quiet place or more social I can come as I am and leave with a refreshed body and mind. I highly recommend Bikram Yoga / Yoga Hell. I do really love this place. After injuring my back literally a day after signing up for a 90 day membership, I only went to the once class. After recovering from my injury and being cleared again to workout (8 months later)...I really wanted to try them again, but was slightly bummed at my luck of injuring myself so soon after signing up. I went in and spoke to the staff. They were able to look up my account and see that I did indeed only attend the 1 class during my 90 membership. They offered me the same 90 day promo at the same price, plus an additional 2 months. They were very kind and understanding and really went above and beyond. It took my friends dragging me here, but then of course I had to buy a multi-class card! Inferno Pilates is the best mix of flexibility, stability, and cardio I've ever taken. It starts out warm so it doesn't take as long shaking off the cold and really getting into the work. I would give it 5 but sometimes it smells so bad; guess that's the extra sweaty time. I love this place! Great instructors and schedule..I do wish there was an 8 am hot Pilates during the week though. I'm someone that was consistently weight lifting for 2 years and needed a change up, this place was perfect for that! I personally go here about 3-4 times a week and still weight lift 2 times a week to keep in shape. Great combination! Hot Pilates will get you more shredded and toned than anything else. I love Bikram Yoga, and I love this studio. When you first walk into the front door, you will more than likely be greeted by friendly dogs-- Chester, is one of the studios favorite. Bikram Yoga Petaluma is a beautiful, spacious, and clean environment. The yoga floor is large, and the heating is excellent. The teachers, staff and owners (Lynn and Jeff) are friendly, educated and approachable. I love how nice the other members are as well. As far as Bikram Yoga, I can not say enough about how this practice has helped me. I would strongly recommend this type of yoga for the following situations: 1. Chronic pain - this yoga takes away my pain for 90 minutes--better than narcotics for pain relief!!!. The heat is wonderful and the postures stretch my spasms in muscles. 2. Depression/stress - Everyone (members and staff) is happy here. 3. Beginners/elite athletes - There are all sorts of people who practice here from the brand new exerciser to the elite athlete. All can do this yoga and benefit. 4. Weight loss/strength/endurance- This is a great yoga/exercise for weight loss, endurance and strength. This yoga allows you to loose weight, as well as increase strength and endurance. Lastly this is the only Bikram studio that I have been too, however there are many members who drive great distances to attend this studio versus one closer to their home. I've tried Bikram before and it didn't want to "take". I got started here in Petaluma in February taking advantage of the intro special (I needed a diversion to help get me through nursing school) and by the time my month was over I was hooked. My only regret is that I can't make it more often. I love the studio, especially the outdoor showers (amazing in winter after roasting your tail off for an hour and a half), and I love the staff. The staff is genuinely friendly. My only concern is that they're going to get too popular. Some of the classes are absolutely packed! I have taken three classes at this studio and liked it so much that I signed up for a month. This is the first time I have ever done Bikram yoga anywhere and I love it! Of course not so much during the class as much as when I'm done. It is a little tough getting used to the heat and sometimes it's hard to get a grip when you are sweating like a pig but it's worth it! I feel amazing after each class not just physically but mentally. I have had three different instructors and each one is great! They are friendly and reassuring and helpful to us newbies! The studio is so clean and decorated all cute and quirky, I love it...so Petaluma!!!! There is an outside shower..I have yet to try it but will at some point. They have towels and mats for rent in case you forgot yours or you can also buy some tooo. I highly recommend this studio, everyone should at least try it once! read more

I really enjoy Bikram Yoga Petaluma! My friend referred me there and I signed up for the introductory month. It's been extremely helpful in losing weight and improving my health. The studio: Pros: Clean. Fun decor. Nice Showers. Easy-going staff. Helpful teachers who answer questions. Great schedule of classes. I like having access to different teachers, as well. Cons: Expensive. This is not just Bikram Yoga Petaluma, it's a practice-wide thing. But, on the flip side, it's totally worth it if I weren't dirt poor. :-) The owner, Jeff, makes me extremely uncomfortable. I have interacted with him a few times and sometimes he's very friendly and makes me feel welcome, and other times he is rude, and not subtly so as other reviewers suggest. I brought my child with me to a class because they were offering childcare, and when I asked a question about the liability release form, he said, "It's so you can't sue us if my dog bites off your baby's face." Um...I think it was meant to be funny, but I wasn't laughing. It just made me feel awkward taking advantage of the childcare lady (who was REALLY sweet) and unwelcome for having a kid. Apart from that, it's a great studio and I love going to class. Lynne, the other owner, and Shannon (I think that's her name) at the front desk are very sweet and helpful. I love this Bikram yoga studio. I love that the entire place is covered in art. This place is fun and lively. It's not a calm and super serine setting, so if that is what you are looking for you might want to look elsewhere. It's bright and colorful and there are dogs and sometimes a child or two hanging out in the lobby. I love that they have clean air ventilation (not recycling inside air), and the "carpets" are actually a material that most Bikram yoga studios use, which are made of an anti-microbial material...they are not like the carpet you have in your home. This material can be mopped up and properly cleaned daily. The classes are very challenging and the teachers push you to go beyond what you think you are capable of. The yoga room is very large, and I never felt like I was packed in like a sardine, as I have at other studios. read more

$16 for drop-in. $49 month-long intro price. (It's a good deal, but I've seen $30 intro prices, so it didn't impress me) This place is clean, and it doesn't even smell in the evening classes. Not just the classroom, but everything seems clean, from the lobby to the lockers, to the outdoor showers. They have a great selection of clothes and mats, and everyone is really friendly. But.. something is lacking. I think it might be the attentiveness of the instructors within the classroom. I know every studio is different (as is every instructor) but I'm used to studios where the teacher will practically know every student's name (even the first-timers) and take care to correct the tiniest things so that you don't hurt yourself. Bikram is fun, but it can be stressing to the body if you don't do it right, and I feel the attention just isn't there. A couple other things-- maybe I'm just used to being in packed classes in SF, but I like it HOT, and I could use a little more heat. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of their felt-like carpet. I prefer other yoga studios' carpets for the triangle pose, but that's really the only pose where I care. Despite all these small complaints, it's a great studio. Best Bikram Yoga studio in Sonoma County!!! I was so impressed the first time I came here. BEAUTIFUL studio; bright, colorful, great vibes...friendly staff. Great instructors, very helpful. LOVE the carpet...it's soft and comfortable, yet still firm and supportive for the different postures. No smell, unlike the Santa Rosa studio. (although I still like them, don't get me wrong) Outside showers which I think is a nice touch, though I have yet to utilize them. Also love the doggies running around! This is my yoga joint of choice here in NoCal. The space is big and funky, the teachers excellent and the schedule of classes are very generous. Bikram Petaluma also has lockers and showers. The technology geek in me really appreciates the strong online systems which allow me to review and renew my monthly membership.
