I've always been a fit person, but My doctor required that I rest, since I was already walking a lot for work... and with that rest came weight gain and a lack of endorphins. About 5 months ago, I signed up for yogasix thanks to the previous GM Ashlyn. I feel stronger than I ever have! Not only that, I have improved my flexibility, and honestly am just an overall happier and nicer person! Now I made other tweaks for that to happen, but yogasix was absolutely a large contributor! All of the instructors are amazing and you really can't go wrong with any of them! The instructors and Management truly listens and accommodates their yogi members, as they changed their evening classes from 5:30 to 5:45, and continue to offer 6AM classes! The staff is also very protective of their members and yogis visiting, and do everything in their power to create a safe environment. If you are on the fence in trying Y6, I promise you will not regret it. Also should I mention the cold lavender towels at the end of each class? Yeah, game changing.

Aerial yoga has been everywhere lately, so I was glad to finally experience it here. The class size was small (~12 spots), which I think is perfect--any larger, and it would've been hard to see the instructor or fully engage in the movements. About 75% of the class was guided yoga using the aerial fabric almost like a sling for support (lots of Warrior II, chair pose, backbends, etc.), with the last 15-20 minutes reserved for "tricks." The time split was a little surprising, but I understand the need to warm up before advancing into more complex movements. Our instructor, Deidra, was confident and knowledgeable, offering options for both new and advanced students where it made sense. That said, I had mixed feelings about the structure. The class was advertised as beginner-friendly, but was filled with her students from moderate / advanced classes, seemingly working toward credit/practice hours. This meant Deidra often modeled progressions for them, focusing her attention at the front of the class rather than circulating to guide newer students in real time. Thankfully, a few more experienced participants helped by modeling positions, which was a big plus. My only other nick was the playlist--which bounced between Mumford & Sons to Gracie Abrams, with the occasional mainstream tracks, which just wasn't my vibe. Overall though, I loved the class and really appreciated Deidra's skill and passion. While not exactly "beginner," it was a fun and challenging introduction to aerial yoga, and I'd definitely return.

It will show you all the different types of classes, as well as prices, and you can book the classes online. I booked the "beginner" class last week - the aerial technique. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was shown where to grab and a yoga mat and was able to pick the "hammock" (I do not know the technical name for the ropes) I wanted to work with during class. The instructor was really nice and she walked us through each exercise. It was a lot of stretching - not really much off the mat, which was fine; I wasn't intending to be up in the air on my first time. Near the end we did get to flip upside down and hang for a little bit. I didn't find that comfortable so I didn't stay upside down for long. A lot of the other class memebers seemed to enjoy it, so maybe with time and practice I will like it one day as well. At the very end of class we got to get up in the hammock and lay down in it. The instructor turned off the lights so we just had the music to listen to and relax. It felt like we were hanging there a good ten minutes. Very relaxing. The studio is off Seventh Street in the Oak Cliff area. There is construction across the street, but I was able to find parking on Davis in a parking garage. When you walk into the studio there is a shop in the front with all kinds of trinkets, stones, incense, clothes. Cute stuff! I bought the package for 3 classes for $45 so my next class will be the aerial yoga. I'm very much looking forward to it!

They have servers that come around to take drink or food orders on occasion. Sometimes you have to flag someone down or go order at the bar because they aren't great about coming around regularly. You can charge things to your room or use your member number if you're a member at TPC. Food is ok here. It takes about 30-40 minutes to get your food after placing an order. Drinks take anywhere from 15-20 minutes to receive after ordering. The basil smash, frozen lemonade and frozen sangria are some of my favs. If you have a food allergy they are able to cater to it. They have gluten free bread available upon request. If you come on a holiday weekend be sure to get your name down on the chair reservation list ASAP or you'll end up waiting hours for a chair to free up. It's a good mix of people here so it's great people watching. Overall a decent pool to hangout at. The pool isn't chilled like the members pool so in the summer the water does get to feeling like bath water. But warm water is better than no water!

We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

Thankfully, ClassPass has made this so much easier to switch it UP! As a part time fitness instructor with a very strong routine, I constantly find myself craving variety. This place has been on my hit list for a while and I was so happy to be able to finally go last night! And boy, am I glad I did. I tried the hot vinyasa class with Lesa and it was 60 minutes of hot and sweaty bliss. The room was packed and the VYBE was jumping! I was warmly greeted and even though I arrived a few minutes before class Lesa greeted me happily and showed me the ropes. They have towels and water/beverages for purchase. BYO yoga mat but they have those as well. The salt lamps in the studio were a beautiful touch and so were the essential oils. I parked my mat pretty close to the diffuser so I was LOVING the aromatherapy while I got my yoga on. Lesa's class was a booty kicker but she also broke it down and provided modifiers for those of us who aren't so limber but aspire to be (raises hand). Blame my tight endurance athlete hamstrings. At the end of the 60 minutes they provide you with essential oil infused cold towels. The Lakeside area is the perfect location, surrounded by luxury living as well as an abundance of retail shops. The community seems very tight knit here as well. Thankful I was able to come here and cannot wait to use my ClassPass to return for another hot class soon and very soon!!

Kim was the instructor and it was a full 60 minutes of pure yoga bliss. They provide all of the yoga swag for you too which is awesome! Their mats are super sturdy and easy to clean, I love having that as an option on days when I don't carry my own mat around in the car. Something here also that they provide which is fairly unique (not all studios have) are the aerial yoga SILKS! This was kind of a nice surprise to me as I did not realize we were going to be using the silks during the restorative session. You have the option to not use the silks as well. I really enjoy Yin style of yoga as it forces me to relax and stretch, two things I am getting better at doing! Kim was very laid back and made the session fun. At the end we did a savasana / rest in the silks which was absolutely divine. You get to swing in the silks too during the meditation part of the class. Overall this was probably one of the best if not THE BEST Yin that I've ever been to! It really set the tone for the rest of my evening and I woke up feeling so refreshed. Cannot wait to go back.
