Also, there was a small amount of wood in the bathroom below the shower that had mold growing on it- you could smell it and see it. The screen door didn't shut all the way and the bottom sealant on the door was broken. We spent about 84,000 points on this Marriott stay, but I feel the experience is more towards 45-50,000 points, so a little disappointed in the amount spent and the quality of the cabin. Could use some simple updates. It's nice they include the firewood for the fire! We loved that aspect too!

It ended up being a glamping weekend for the family. Cabins are dog friendly. $50 charge for dogs but they are spoiled! There is a $70 destination fee which includes firewood, fire starters, snacks, waters, and s'mores. As a Marriott elite, I get the option of points or a food and beverage amenity. I usually go with the amenity when I'm not traveling by myself. Wow. Marriott out did themselves. Look how great the amenity box was. It included so many treats! This was our second time glamping, the first time with our own shower, toilet, and kitchen. Not too shabby! We really enjoyed cooking dinner and the complimentary pour over coffee. The windows were great! So big! Felt like we were in the woods. The space was very private too. Loved that there was no WiFi. There was a radio and books. We brought games but really loved that we got to talk with no interruptions. Would be fun to come back with a group of friends too.

This is a little gem of a campground that's pleasantly filled with comforts and modern amenities. The campground itself is very small, but it's quiet, & has a steady body of water. I will be staying here again. I spent the weekend sitting in my hammock and enjoying hearing the water. 5/6 of the cabins face the water just as an fyi, so it's like a private paradise. The town of SoHa is really fun too and a great place to wine, dine, & explore. The cabins are basic and rustic with one plug in to charge your electronics. There is one light in there but it does get dark at night. Bring a nightlight. The queen bunk beds are great and comfortable. I would say more like 2-3 people could comfortably sleep in a cabin due to space and the cabins get hot at night! There's showers, there's toilets, there's cabins- oh my! The showers run on a unique token system. 1 token=$1=3 minutes of hot, private, shower. Tokens are purchased on site. the showers are game changers because they're open 24 hours with cameras outside so the owners monitor who goes in/out and your safety. As a queer person, I felt comfortable & safe at this campground.

We were rewarded with a gorgeous view of the truly colorful shades of blue of the Lake. Combined, the trails are only about 3 miles in length since this is a narrow, alongside-the-lake State Park & the trails go from the main roadway, to the top of the bluffs & then back again to the roadway. Further down that roadway is a campground, a good amount of parking, a playground, picnic tables, grills, open fields, and, the best part of all, the mile long beach, which is comprised of super soft sand, space to stretch out, a not-as-enjoyable view of a water treatment plant, & the fun of collecting smooth, soft stones that dot the beach, The waters of Lake Michigan don't come much above your waist for a good 75-100 feet, so it's easy to stay cool while you stand around with sisters (that was us!), and others. This place is also great to go on a nice little walk too and there's plenty of people walking their dogs as well. Seriously, this is a great little climb to the top with some amazing payoff views overlooking Saugatuck/Douglas and the Kalamazoo river and everything beyond. I did it with my 8 year old, going every other step, and my 70+ yr old father, who took it a little slower but got there just behind us. From the top you have two choices, stairs down OR run the dunes down to Oval Beach, and we chose the latter. Running down sand dunes is a blast and I encourage anyone able bodied enough to try to go for it. There was a QR at the top that took you to a cute page of stickers and swag you can buy to recall your accomplishment, but you can get a lot of it in the museum at the bottom of the stairs as well. The parking area is ample and there are also two very clean bathrooms there you can use. The museum shares the history of the area and is free to visit. The park also has a large picnic pavilion and it looked like there may be a dock behind the museum that was accessible as well. Great experience!
