I ordered this cake 4 days ahead and when I went to the Coldstone in Dartmouth to pick it up on Thursday night for the Friday night party they first could not find my cake order which was the largest cake size customized order. After the scare, they finally said oh yeah, the large rectangular custom cake I was relieved, got the cake and rushed home to put it in the freezer. The disappointment hit when we opened and served the cake. The entire custom cake order with all the dozen plus options were either not done or at best minimal. No decorations on the top as ordered, and NO mix-in's, which is the best part for the taste/kids. I couldn't show my disappointment at the time for this almost $100 cake, but I was pretty shocked. I basically received a chocolate cake bottom with a vanilla ice cream top layer with plain happy birthday writing; the equivalent of going to the market and buying a Carvel Ice Cream Cake for a fraction of the cost. I have no idea if this is made by the store employees, or shipped over to the store, but how much of a huge letdown it was is beyond. There is no rectifying the situation no return. I wasn't going to even bother but being the next day when my daughter brought up, "you know mom, I wasn't going to say it last night with everything you did for me, but they really screwed up the cake we were so excited about and designed". Well yes, they did. I did reach out to the customer service number and left messages with no reply as of yet as well as emails. At this point at least a response would be appreciated.
