My grandkids and I were in Fallbrook today to see a vet for our pup. We decided to stop to have some frozen yogurt before heading back home to Temecula. I have to admit that when we got to the door and looked in I almost walked out only because it wasn't like the typical yogurt shops I'm used to. The place is very small and they do not do self serve. So we came in and the people that work here are so friendly and as we sat to enjoy our dessert all the customers were very happy and most seemed to known by the employees. Before trendy froyo stands like Pinkberry and Yogurtland, there were mom and pop digs like Yogurt Palace. I forgot how much I loved this place until this weekend when I decided to stop by after perusing the new Fallbrook Library (which is now super freaking awesome, fyi). I loved how this place has stayed the same over the years. I still remember fond memories coming here as a child with my best friend and her mom treating us to yogurt. And then another time when I was a preteen and my cousin and aunt decided to treat me and my sister. I'm pretty impressed that this little shop has managed to stick around so long, although I'm sure Fallbrook residents (and former ones like myself) can attest that this place is really good. There are typically a few flavors to choose from (hint: Fruit Medley is BOMB) and they got a selection of toppings like mochi or their super delicious strawberry banana. The place is tiny and jam-packed with kitschy memorabilia and pictures of Fallbrook teens/families/adults who have come to Yogurt Palace over the years. I actually saw some older pics of people I knew from high school, including my friend's kid sister! Hahaha. If you ever come down to Fallbrook, be sure to take a stroll on Main Avenue and stop by Yogurt Palace. It's still one of the very few places that has kept their old-school flavor; I hope they never close. :) read more

There are a lot of people in this town who're either pro Yogurt Palace or Fallbrook Froyo but I'm probably the one percent of people who patronizes both establishments because they're both different in their own ways. Yogurt Palace is nice to go when you wanna talk to someone and have a nice conversation with someone in your community. The flavors they carry are delicious, and it has pictures on the walls of customers from the past. It kinda gives you nostalgia of growing up in a small town, having wonderful mom and pop shops and meeting with kind owners. My parents live out here in Fallbrook and extremely close to downtown, so while visiting their house, I decided to take the kids on an explorative walk of the area. Loved stumbling on this Mom and Pop froyo shop! I am much too familiar with the chains like Menchies and Red Cup that when I walked in to find that I wouldn't be grabbing my own cup and serving myself from a selection of flavors housed in a brightly colored wall, I was quite surprised! Maybe even apprehensive! The yogurt and toppings are all behind the counter, served by Yogurt Palace employees. The two young ladies working while I was in were very friendly. The shop is small, but homey. My kids and I went with the simple flavors of the day: chocolate for my son, vanilla for my daughter, and coconut for me! I also got strawberries as a topping. Paid $9 for our 3 junior sized cups! (Junior is smaller than Small) Very tasty frozen yogurt! Combine this with board games placed on each table and you've got a real good time. Very inexpensive and offers a large variety of flavors. They have some ones I've never seen before at a yogurt place, like Hawaiian Delight and Eggnog. Also served sandwiches and stuffed avocado, neither of which I tried on this trip. For 7 bucks even we got a couple of junior cups loaded with toppings and two absolutely towering soft serve cones. Soft serve is not as creamy as some other locations but definitely better than any fast food joint. I would have given this place a 5 star, but I witnessed something inappropriate. It was very delicious and cheap. However there was a kid maybe the age of 10/11 who was behind the counter. I believe it was one of the worker's child. She stuck her hand to get a gummy bear. She was also serving herself some strawberries (which I didn't mind). Then I kept watching her and I saw her lick her spoon and then retake another topping. I'm a germaphobe so that was very disgusting. I guess it was just my luck. The ladies who serve me the yogurt also gave me samples which made me very delighted. I really liked the Pomegranate-Hibuscus flavor. Until, my mind made up something more creative. I went for the coconut, peanut butter, and chocolate with chopped nuts for a large cup for $4! Not a bad deal! There was Connect 4 gamesets to play with and magazines to read. On the wall, there are many photographs of different people which they look quaint, happy and looked pretty. Great spot to go for on a date with someone you like/loved one. I am so frustrated with this place. It is cute, it has good yogurt, and the prices are really good compared to other yogurt shops these days. I have lived in Fallbrook for over 1 year. I have probably TRIED to go to this place 10-15 times. It has only been open TWO times. The hours suck - it is open during the day only - and closed most of the time on evenings and weekends. What about people with jobs, who have lives, that want yogurt at night and after dinner on a weekend? I saw a sign down the street -- "Fallbrook FroYo" - coming soon! I hope they have better hours. You can tell they always had regulars coming in because every person that came in they knew them by their name. I loved all there different flavors and assorted toppings! But for anyone who thinks they know rockin' fro-yo, I would say you haven't tasted anything unless you have been to Fallbrook's very own Yogurt Palace. This is the place that INVENTED fresh fruit toppings on your yogurt (Pinkberry, puh-lease). In agricultural 'brooktown, the toppings practically come straight from the fields to top your refreshing treat. And your treat is none of this Italian sugar, green tea, BS yogurt. It's the real, old-school low-fat and full-fat dairy varietal. I grew up in Fallbrook and worked at Baskin Robbins, which means I got frozen yogurt for free. I still went to the Yogurt Palace instead! I haven't been up to Fallbrook in some time, but when something is this good, memory serves you well. The small-town country kitchen decor is delightful, and a perfect fit for the main street in a small town. Every order comes with service and a smile. Every "have a good day" is authentic. I have been going to The Yogurt Palace since I was a kid. The prices are exceptional, their yogurt and toppings are always fresh. My favorite is the chocolate and vanilla swirl with fresh strawberries. The fresh strawberries is something you usually don't see anymore at other places, they are all frozen nowadays. I also have to say the girls their are some of the friendliest in Fallbrook, they truly adhere to Fallbrook's "Friendly Village" motto. One side note that may interest the locals, they are very active in local school functions donating to the schools and also their pint for a pint program where they give a pint of yogurt to those school members who donate a pint of blood, Great Job Yogurt Palace! read more
