My job had me up in North Santa Rosa, and I happen to be driving by on the Old Redwood Highway. They added window coverings to keep the inside of the shop cool. They also added a table inside. Seems to be more fruity flavors. I tried Pineapple, Lime, and strawberry. I noticed they have covered refrigerated toppings now. (Or maybe I didn't see them last time). I have been to 40+ frozen yogurt shops in the Bay Area region, and this is the first time I've seen covered cold trays of toppings. I tried some, and it makes a big difference to have cold toppings on your frozen yogurt. Go try it! The price per ounce is only 71 cents! That's a fair price for frozen yogurt. It was great that the cashier knew the price without looking it up. Yogurt Time is in a small plaza at the corner of Mark West Springs Rd & Old Redwood Highway. Good news first. Very friendly employee who assisted in serving me and getting portions right. Cookies and Cream flavor was very tasty. Here's the bad news: Their tartalicious flavor, which is usually my favorite and resembles plain unsweetened yogurt, had a very intense sparkly carbonated response on my tongue. Not pleasant and due to the odd sensation and concern for it being spoiled, I wasted half my yogurt. A few bucks down the drain and now we'll see if I get sick. So far a couple hours later and feeling somewhat nauseous. Fingers crossed as I have researched this sensation of carbonation in yogurt can be due to extra fermentation. read more

Mmm frozen yogurt. A small and quick style place. You walk in, dispense some frogurt (yes!) into your bowl, add some toppings, pay and walk out. It's something like 35 cents an oz regardless of what's in your bowl. There are what I recall about ten different flavors to choose from: Vanilla, Tart, Coffee, a couple of Sorbets, and even some fat free choices. I stuck with the Tart and Vanilla choices, couldn't go wrong and didn't. Very tasty and satisfying on a hot day. Went to this location last night 20 minutes before closing, my friend asked for a spoon to get some of the refrigerated toppings because the employee had already taken all of the spoons to get the toppings out (mind you it was 20 MINUETS before close) and the employee told her "no , you can't have any refrigerated toppings we close in 20 minutes". And I get it , I work in food service. But I would NEVER do that , owners or managers of this location should have a closer watch on what they're employees are doing. This place was like an oasis in the middle of the dessert. I'm used to the pleasant moderate weather of San Francisco. To me, Santa Rosa is hot, hot, hot! So, when I saw this place, I made my bf pull over with a quickness. This little shop's numerous choice of toppings is enough to put any other yogurt shop to shame. Plus, it's self serve! You can spice up your yogurt just the way you like it. You are not limited to just one or two of the same toppings. You can have five toppings if you like and you pay based on weight. Is that awesome or what? As for the yogurt. It was good, but not spectacular like the toppings. This yogurt lacked the texture that I think makes the best yogurt - thick and creamy. I chose a couple of flavors - Cappuccino and New York Cheesecake - just okay. Too sweet for my taste buds. My bf had chocolate and it was better than the flavors that I chose. Overall: Delicious assortment of toppings, easy self serve set-up, yogurt is good but the quality can use improvement. Let me first admit that I'm not crazy about the current resurgence of the yogurt craze as I'm more of an ice cream gal. But since I was in the 'hood and a smitten friend had been here once already, I tagged along. Cute place, serve yourself style. I believe there were eight available flavors when I was there and a gazillion toppings from which to choose. I like that they had toasted chopped almonds and some other slightly healthy options available. The owner is friendly and sweet, his chihuahua isn't as friendly but is almost as adorable. This place is cute and surprisingly good for a non-Asian froyo place. It was quite an experience eating at a froyo place without a single Asian present, actually. Culture shock! But so yea, the froyo is alright (as always i'm talking about original tart which i'm surprised that they had). The taste was refreshing, but the texture was not creamy although it wasn't watery or icy.. hard to describe but it's probably somewhere in between. Oh yea, since it's not an Asian froyo place, no mochi balls. But they had mini gummy bears that weren't stale. That was good :9. Don't get the chocolate covered jellies... Normally we go to screaming yogurt on mendocino avenue in Santa rosa, but we were in the area, so we decided to try this place out. Good stuff first: all of their toppings are super fresh and they have a decent selection of yogurt. The place was super clean and the yogurt was delish! When we got to the cashier, he asked us if we were paying together and since we were he repeated several times to put all of our cups on the scale. Since we go to screaming yogurt, we are used to guessing our weight, which if you guess correctly you get your yogurt for free. We proceeded to guess the weight, the young man replied "you are way off and you will never guess, besides you don't guess the weight here" which we told him about the place we go to that he said "he is not allowed to hide the weight from you, it is illgeal." and proceeding to tell us that he is not doing very good in business and will be shutting down soon. Yogurt time has great fro-yo at a decent price. Their yogurts are really delicious, and I was surprised at how amazingly chocolaty their chocolate fro-yo was. The only downside for me is their toppings bar. I am allergic to nuts and when I was the girl running the shop clean up the area by wiping the nut covered counter top down with a bare palm, not wash her hands, go back to the register and touch people's yogurts/spoons I was horrified. Wow! I am honestly amazed at all of the kind reviews for this place. I am a yogurt snob, I'll admit that. I could have been a fan of the serve yourself approach but unfortunately the quality of the yogurt and messiness of the shop left me wanting to run from the shop rather than take as much as I could. The toppings were all over the place messy, not a wonderfully fabulous selection either. I tried the tart and a mango sorbet flavor. The tart was 100% wrong. Texture, flavor, every morsel was inexplicably wrong for my palette. Then we move onto to mango, while it was not a complete trainwreck as the tart was. After about 5 bites I was ready to dump my yogurt in the trash. Overall, it was worth trying since it is not far from my home, but I will never (as long as I can help it) be going back for more. read more

I've been to Yogurt Time at this location about 10+ time's and the last 3 times I've been to this location the yogurt flavor Cookie's and Cream and when they have mint tastes soooo sour! At first it doesn't bother me and then towards the middle it bothers me more and more until I can't take it and have to throw it away. : ( I really like yogurt time but i think I've had my fair share of bad tasting yogurt at this location. read more

The way he said it was very judgemental; he was basically making a joke about my weight and laughing directly in my face. I've visited here on a few occasions and while it has the basic workings of a great self serve yogurt chain, it leaves a lot to be desired. My biggest issue about this location in particular is the overwhelming mechanical smell, which I am surprised no one else has mentioned. I've worked at a large yogurt chain and the smell makes me concerned that the machines aren't being cleaned or maintained properly. The unappealing smell combined with the lack of decor creates a very unappetizing store front. The topping selection is great; however, the fresh toppings are kept in such small containers that the employees can't keep up with demand, so most of the time there's slim pickings left. Meanwhile the dry toppings go stale when the huge bins are filled up and not rotated properly. The chain could benefit from a redesign with a softer color scheme and some promotional photos *shameless photographer plug ;). I guess the unfortunate truth is there are so many other chains offering the same product, but delivering it in a much more desirable way. Good thing yogurt time is open late. read more
