We just finished a birthday dinner with our 5-year-old, and all she wanted was frozen yogurt. She was so excited! We headed over, only to find the shop closed for a staff meeting. When she tried the door and realized it was closed, she completely broke down full-on tears, heartbroken. Out of nowhere, a kind gentleman came to the door, saw what was happening, and invited us in. Even though they were closed, he offered her some yogurt and instantly turned her entire night around. What could have been a disappointing end to her birthday became one of the most memorable moments, all because of their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond. Moxies has great frozen yogurt flavors. Their vanilla bean is soo good, I got the skinny cheesecake today and it was delicious. I think it's crazy they expect you to tip 20% to the kid that just rings up your total though. That is literally all they do, its self serve so its not like they do anymore than someone ringing you up at the mini mart. They also need more fresh fruit toppings. I love Raspberries, almonds and cheesecake chunks on my ice cream but they never have Raspberries anymore. They had strawberries and blueberries but they were kind of sickly looking. Please put out Raspberries again! Overall they have a nice store with indoor and outdoor seating and they keep everything very clean and they also make great flavors. read more

Probably the best froyo place I've been to in my life. Popular even in the dead of winter, and I can see why. Great layout, great flavors assortment (the passion orange guava sorbet was a huge winner), and the most generous spread of toppings I've ever seen. Some of the items that felt above and beyond: Waffle bowls, hazelnut and chocolate and strawberry sticks, dark chocolate and English toffee bits, high quality hot fudge sauce, apple pie filling, birthday cake dough, cotton candy pieces, dark chocolate and raspberry cups...gosh. It was the hearts' delight of any froyo lover. Also had a great hometown feel and friendly customer service! We came here after a hike at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park and it really hit the spot. Moxie's Frozen Yogurt and Toppings is located in Windsor and was a nice and refreshing treat! You get a cup upon entrance and there are lots of flavors to choose from! These flavors rotate so there is always something new to try. They also have several different toppings to add if you would like. At the end, they weigh your cup and you check out. They also have diary free options, gluten free options, and vegan gluten free options. The staff were very friendly and it was a great experience. We got ours to go, although they have seating there as well. The frozen yogurt was delicious and we will definitely be back! read more

Oh no! I have a bone to pick with Moxie's. See, the tart flavor hasn't been available for about a month now, which would perplex any froyo fanatic. Now don't misunderstand me. This isn't the same as whining that chocolate or peach aren't available today. We all have our seasonal favorites based on subjective taste and it's unreasonable to expect them to always be on the menu. Them's the breaks! But original tart is a category unto itself. Go to any other froyo joint - Pinkberry, Red Mango, Mag's in Larkspur, etc (or even the crappy ones like Yogurt Time and Yogurtland) - they rotate through various flavors, but tart is a constant. It's always on the menu. That's because all other frozen yogurt businesses understand something that Moxie's apparently doesn't: the tart is a yogurt staple, an "anchor flavor" that differentiates froyo. When froyo burst in the early aughts, it was driven by how the tart flavor set it apart from other frozen treats, making it a mainstay even now. I'm sure that a lot of folks don't mind: little kids who just want a frozen treat, parents bringing their teens for something yummy, etc. The casual customer won't care because they're just looking for some kind of ice cream. But another segment of the customer base visits Moxie's because they're specifically looking for what frozen yogurt alone offers. And for those hardcore froyo people, who tend to be more loyal than the casual visitor, the original tart defines the quintessential froyo experience. Here's my experience. I take the time to drive over to Moxie's and they have no tart, so I settle for whatever else they have - strawberry, chocolate, whatever. It's very good, but fairly interchangeable with, say, gelato at Cravin's by the square, or Two Dog Night, or just getting a pint at Oliver's to take home. They're all flavored ice cream with variations in texture and consistency. After that, I don't want to waste my time going to Moxie's in vain, so I call beforehand to ask if tart is on the menu. And week after week, the answer is no (if they pick up). So I get tired, stop calling altogether, get my fix elsewhere, and start to forget that Moxie's is an option. It's not just me - my family and friends also feel that tart is a big part of the froyo experience. Without the natural tart, Moxie's elicits a shrug from me, which translates into them leaving a bunch of my money on the table. Visualize a graph of my spending at Moxie's: it shoots way up sharply (I wasn't just consuming on site lately, but taking containers of tart home too) and has now cratered like a plummeting stock market. Bottom line: tart is a key competitive differentiator for frozen yogurt. It's the experience you can offer that ice cream/gelato/soft serve joints cannot, and yet you inexplicably take it out of rotation for extended periods of time. Why remove the one classic option that tastes like pure, actual yogurt when you're a yogurt shop? The choice puzzles me and speaks to a misunderstanding of the unique space frozen yogurt occupies in the market. Again, all of your competitors know this is an advantage to embrace, not ignore! There is always something new. They have a wide array of different toppings; it ranges from fruit to candy to hot fudge and the like. The price is fair for what you're getting. We have cut back on our dairy consumption the past year or so but when you are yearning for a cold frozen treat, Moxie's is your answer. Like most frozen yogurt Moxie's has some tartness but is not overly acidic. Fruit and citrus flavors have nice impact while the "sweet" flavors like caramel, chocolate also come throughly really well. Lots of toppings, syrups and add ins to please just about anyone. If you can't make your favorite yogurt sundae, you're not trying hard enough :). Moxie's is clean, a few community tables are inside and several patio tables are outside. Flavors rotate every few days, a typical might be strawberry. raspberry, blackberry, chocolate, vanilla, banana cream pie etc. Just writing this is making me hungry :). Plus column: A friend of mine and I have frozen yogurt dates at Moxies pretty regularly, and I think it's safe to say we love it here. There are more than enough different flavors to satisfy any discriminating palette, but like another Yelp user mentioned, what kind of puts it above the rest is the sheer amount and quality of the toppings. I was never a fan of boba until I started going on fro-yo dates to Moxies (the popping sensation is fun :}) and I like that employees put recommendations on a chalkboard right out front, these are usually SPOT ON the couple times I've taken their advice. The only negative thing I have to say about Moxies is the "ambiance." Moxies is usually packed to the rafters with local high school kids, and I think most of the people employed there are in that age-range themselves, which means it can get pretty loud and crowded and the music is sometimes going at full blast. It makes me feel old to mention the noise level, but when you're trying to catch up with a friend, the last thing you want interrupting your conversation is "T.G.I.F" by Katy Perry. The mainstream, popular music doesn't bother me, I actually enjoy it, but this isn't your bedroom, guys. Still doesn't stop me from going there and eating my weight in fro-yo. read more

Flipping love this place! I always go in saying that I will get a small cup and move on, in reality it's more likely that I taste test every flavor and get a large frozen yogurt.
